Another Misty damp Good Morning to you all.
Wishing a speedy recovery for MrLins and all who are poorly or feeling down.
Friday 13th didn’t turn out so bad in the end for me. DD3 had some more test results from the hospital and it was good news. Another step on, a few more to go.
Our neighbour who moved on Wednesday sent us a lovely bouquet of flowers to say thank you for being good neighbours over the last 27 years.
Face time call from DGS who wanted to show his certificate for being ‘Star of the day’.
Missing all our family but we have a zoom meeting for a quiz this evening so looking forward to ‘seeing’ them all.
Hope you all find a ? today.

Good Morning Saturday
(81 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
its dark and its raining outside here in brackley this morning .
Today , apart from getting a Chinese Take away alter will be spent indoors .
Yesterday , I went out lunchtime ,and the local market was on , so I went to a stallholder I know , to order wreathes for family graves which will be ready in early December .
Mind you the town centre was busy for a lockdown , cars coming through the town centre continually, the butchers had a que , which could also be a case of people ordering Xmas meat.
Take Care ,
Mick
Morning all...dreary weather here in Bolton...have sort of reached the stage where I cant think what my pre covid life was like ?
Made a list of 'to do' jobs for today then scrunched it up and threw it into the log burner...
Missing gillybobsposts...keep safe everyone ?
Good morning Mick, morning all from S Lanarkshire where it’s grey and damp again. Quite envious of Urmstongran’s sunshine.
All the best to your DH today Lins, well done to his optician.
Good news Pittcity, and Mary, we’re in the same boat. I’m everything crossed but I agree it’s not looking good.
Hope you all have a peaceful day especially Kitty. Look after yourselves.
Good morning from a damp Morecambe Bay. DH is off running before the forecasted rain comes in again. I’m still in bed. Most unlike me I didn’t drop off to sleep last night and was awake til 4am. Even then I woke up every half hour. There wasn’t even anything in particular playing on my mind.
Nothing much planned for today except a phone call with my friend in Somerset.
Thinking of Mr &Mrs Lins at this worrying time.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was a day where nothing happened, I was so tired. After lunch we lay on the bed to read our books but I fell asleep for two hours.
DH has gone out to buy bread and a newspaper, it will take some time as he is walking badly.
Sister messaged me to say she had a flood in her bathroom, not a lot I could do across the North sea, thankfully a neighbour came to her rescue. It could have caused problems as she is in a flat with people below her.
Deliveries from online shopping is slow and I have had missing items, getting a refund is proving difficult.
On the bright side I believe the GC are still at school so they are seeing friends.
Marydoll - ‘letting it all out’ is good for you. Have a worryfree day. ?
Good morning all from Derbyshire where rain is setting in, so we won't be going far today.
We had a lovely walk yesterday, followed by our much anticipated fish and chips, which turned out to be a bit of a let down on quality. Next time we'll try somewhere different. We did loll on the sofa holding our bellies afterwards though and didn't do (or eat) much for the rest of the day.
I found the bar of chocolate I'd lost. I'd hidden it from DH so he wouldn't eat it and then promptly forgotten I'd done that or where I'd put it! My memory these days!! Unfortunately DH was there when I found it, so it came with a large slice of humble pie after I had previously accused him of eating it!
Hope everything goes well for your DH Lins.
Wishing everyone a good day today.
I meant to congratulate Pittycity, on her new house purchase. Exciting times.
For Kitty, ?
Sorry, meant to say I hope your husband’s eye op goes well this morning Lins. Quick action and good service - good to hear. x
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, but we have lots of rain forecast. Mick, I wish we had a market here in our area, there no such thing.
Lins, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's eye problem, I hope all goes well today. A worrying time for you all.
Thank you all for your superb support yesterday, I'm quite embarrassed at letting it all out, but I seem to have lost my usual resilience somewhere along the line recently. The realisation that my health is deterioration rapidly and having no control over it, has affected me badly. Previously, I have managed to adapt my lifestyle accordingly.
I'm a control freak and I have lost control!!
There will be no more wallowing.
One good thing came out of yesterday, As a distraction, I threw myself into making Chelsea buns, which according to DH were some of the best I've ever made.
Coming from DH, whose mantra for everything I make is, Its fine, that is praise indeed.
Am I wrong in thinking we have not heard from Grandmattie or Grammaretto for a few days. I hope all is well with them. I'm sending Auntiefo, some flowers, as I think she may have been unwell. ?
The news is not good here in Glasgow, I fear we are going into total lockdown next week.
I'm so relieved my son's house move on Thursday went smoothly before it happened
I received an early morning video phone call from him, asking if I would like a tour round his new home. It was stunning, lots of quirky features and some original ones remaining. I had kitchen envy! ?
DS2 is very reserved, rarely showing his feelings It lifted my spirits to see him so excited! He was like my wee boy again.
Take care everyone and sending hugs to you all. We never know what is happening in people's lives.
Good morning Mick and All.
A damp drizzly day here in South Bucks.
Take care Kitty after your difficult day yesterday. Families can cause such stress at times. I’m suggesting on a relaxing day after you have have arranged your flowers Mrs Bouquet style ?. Maybe feet up and a movie. Has your wine arrived yet if not put on your mask and nip into the Co-Op for a tipple?
Hope you have a better day Marydoll ?
Bellasnana are you revving up for Rafa tomorrow ? I am ?
We now have a lovely little Italian Delicatessen opened up. As few people were around I went in to give them support. I sampled some cheese and bought a small portion and some Italian aniseed sweets then promptly left the cheese on the counter and went home, what a Wally. It’s wet and miserable but I am determined to go back and collect my cheese ?
Good morning from a damp, dark south Cornwall. All the best to Mr Lins. Good old NHS.
Made my first Florentines yesterday. Ate three! The rest are going in the freezer for Christmas. They were made with single cream. Oh yum.
Today I shall walk to the town beach, love walking in the rain, to see what goodies have been washed up overnight. Then home to a lot of pottering!
Have the best day you can, everyone.
Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have banks of white cloud in a slowly brightening sky. It’s mild though.
We had a jolly time in Pedro’s yesterday. Himself and I went in at 4pm for bebidas and we joined by a couple we vaguely know who have an apartment in the same building as us. They hail from Bognor Regis, apparently got married in 1974 like us, have 2 daughters - one of whom is a teacher (ditto) and we enjoyed their company so much we’ve arranged to meet them again today at 4pm. They fly home tomorrow, hence the scramble to meet again.
We will have food this time - Himself has pre-ordered Nelly’s famous seafood paella. I think mutual friends (the Rangers fan) and his partner are joining us, so I’m looking forward to it immensely!
Book reading on the Kindle until then. A new John Grisham novel called ‘The Reckoning’ as I read a non-fiction last time and I like to flip genres. I have ordered a non-fiction for my next read ‘Banking on It’ by Ann Boden - the 51y old Welsh lady who set up her own fin tech bank ‘Starling’. I love the sound of her cheery personality - she describes herself as a ‘chatty, 5’ plump chatterbox’ who wanted a different kind of banking so she organised one!
Hope Saturday is good to us all. It would have been our dear mum’s birthday today - shared the date with Prince Charles. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
Good morning all. ‘What a grey day’ ! A day for cosying up indoors, after walking little pooch. No sign of the green net she ate on Thursday .... yet! ?
DG1 will be passing by today. She is home from Uni and has been isolating. Doesn’t look like she will go back until after Christmas now. We’ll have a chat at a distance! Hope the rain holds off !
*Lins - sorry to hear of your worrying day yesterday but what good service from optician and the hospital. Hope all goes well for your DH . ?.
Dwm. I took my little gd home last evening and said ‘soon we’ll be seeing Christmas decs up in houses’. Low and behold, we turned the corner and saw 2 houses fully decorated and lit up. ? Too early for me but I can understand the need for brightening up this dreary world. ?.
Sar - we’ll done with your cross stitch. Only one to go! The gd’s will love them and always keep them and tell their children, my Nanna made this for me. ♥️. I made all 8 of mine crochet blankets a few years ago. and eldest GD took hers to uni. ?
Kindly thoughts to all . ???
Good Morning all, dull and damp
Best wishes to Mr Lins , hope all goes well and he is home soon
Good morning from a grey, damp but mild Colchester.
Friday the 13th was good to us as we viewed a house and had our offer accepted. Today we begin deciding what is moving with us and what we need to get rid of. All hampered by lockdown, of course.
All the best to Mr Lins.
Good Morning everyone from a grey and drizzly Oxfordshire
Lins1066 hope all goes well for your DH and again good service from the NHS.
My mum has to have an MRI scan and was thinking about going privately to speed things up.
She received her NHS appointment and when the private one arrived it was for two weeks later!
New fridge being delivered this morning.
Have a good day everyone and keep smiling ?
Good morning from a dull and damp Northampton. Am still in bed this early on a Saturday, just thinking about making a nice cup of tea.
Hoping DD will drop me at the opticians this morning to collect my new glasses; I am not using the buses yet, so she is my only means of getting into town for essential purposes. After that will be watching the England/Georgia rugby match on tv, and then fish and chips for tea while we watch Strictly.
All the best to Mr Lins for a successful op this morning.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but thankfully dry and much less windy
Yesterday we enjoyed such a lovely walk on the Black Isle just north of Inverness. It definitely did us both good and we stopped for coffee and cake on the way home. Today I need to pop into town to get some gifts that I need to wrap and post soon. I think parcels especially are taking a lot longer to arrive just now, understandable of course.
Thank goodness your DH got such prompt treatment lins I hope his op goes well and he’s fully recovered soon
Very well done with finishing your Harry Potter cross stitch Sar are you taking orders for more? ? All my DGC are big HP fans!
Hope everyone with worries and struggles finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from a misty, damp North Leicestershire.
Going to try to do nothing apart from a little gentle flower arranging today. Don't I sound ladylike? If only!
Had a very emotionally draining day yesterday with extended family problems and then i watched 'Children in Need'. And, of course, all the sad stories related to one or other of our dgc. I felt like a piece of chewed string by the time i went to bed!
Wishing everyone (and me) a peaceful day. Love to gilly as always!
All the best to your DH, Lins1066. It’s great that he is receiving such prompt attention. My eldest daughter had that operation when she was eight and recovered well. The main problem was keeping her still in the days following surgery! Less of an issue for an adult.
Interestingly, our optician diagnosed the condition more readily than the eye hospital!
Good morning from a blowy, damp and very miserable looking Essex by the sea. I don't think we will be going far today.
Good luck to your husband Lins, sorry to hear that he needs an urgent op but all hail the NHS.
I finished my Harry Potter cross Stitch last night, I'm quite proud of it as I didn't really have a pattern. I now have one ballerina to do and then I need to get them all framed. I do hope my granddaughters will like them.
Have the best Saturday you can and stay safe everyone xx
Morning all from a cool damp north Wales where I’m just about to enjoy the chamberpot ☕️
What an orrible day you and Mr L had yesterday Lins ? I’m not normally superstitious but that would definitely have made me so but as you say, all hail our NHS!
Haven’t read yesterday’s posts so will sit and read then ‘critique’ later when I’ve digested all your bizziness! Good to see EllanVannin back!
Good morning from an overcast East Midlands! So sorry to hear about your husband Lins and send good wishes for a successful operation.
Experienced problems all day yesterday with our laptop, there was a major update in the operating system which has caused a problem with another application, or so I'm told.
Have a good day everyone, stay safe one and all, and special thoughts to all those struggling in some way.
Good morning from a still very dark north Surrey
Trust all goes well for your husband Lins. My 92 year old dad had this last year and recovered very quickly.
Yesterday we bought the paint to decorate our bedroom so today will make a start on moving furniture and getting the preparation work done.
Yesterday on my evening dog walk noticed a Christmas tree up in someone’s home, far too early IMO. I’d be sick of it by mid December, each to their own I guess.
Have a good weekend all
