I have lived here for 1 year and 3 days and I’ve just cleaned the inside of my kitchen windows for the first time!
I know I’m a slattern but they are so hard to reach but I finally managed with the aid of a swiffer mop. I’m now on a window cleaning rampage, if you stand still near me I’ll give you a good rub down too.
Is there anything that you have suddenly found the urge to do?

I have 2 upstairs windows in my house that are way, way up high and, to my knowledge, they have never been cleaned. I have lived here for 50 years. Oh the shame blush
I must say in my defence that they are far too high to ever look through!

Cleaning under beds? There are two King size ottoman beds here. We’d have to empty the bases. shock. Do you know how much I can get in one of those? The bases are very low to the ground, surely no dust will get under there? If it does I’ll wait for it to come back out grin.

My MIL always said a good layer of dirt kept the germs out. She was a wise woman. grin

OMG I missed it also.
Is he new?

I loved this thread from the minute Charleygirl5 got into the shower with her bin...
And then BigJohn (snigger) got involved!smile
I didn't see his post either sad

Busy sewing at the moment so thread etc all over the floor. Unfortunately I’ll have to have a good clean before I start the next project otherwise it’ll take a very long time.

On the other hand......perhaps it’s best left for now ??

Oldbat1 Sun 15-Nov-20 18:02:56

Auntieflo it was exhausting lifting the bed I will admit. I won’t be rushing to do it again.

Calendargirl Sun 15-Nov-20 18:01:42

Lucca

Quite annoyed that I missed the post from Bigjohn? Was it an American one about a large lavatory ?

I had a PM from Bigjohn!

Did anyone else get one?

Auntieflo Sun 15-Nov-20 17:32:37

Oldbat1, I could never hoover under our bed, and reach the centre. Now we have a Robot vacuum, and he is wonderful.
Just remember to put any wires, from lamps etc, out of his way, or he will complain, pathetically.

Dust is very useful for writing memos to yourself. Fluff is insulating. ??

granfromafar Sun 15-Nov-20 16:35:20

Hello fellow slatterns. In the 10 mins before Sounds of the 70s started (best radio programme of the week imo) I swept the edges of the stair carpet which the cordless hoover thingy doesn't do very well. Was quite surprised how much fluff I gathered! Now sitting here knitting and enjoying Johnnie Walker and great music!

I cleaned one of my bathroom windows this morning but gave up after that. I couldn't reach the other one. They are side by side but I would have had to get back in the bath again. I might do it tomorrow! smile

I quite enjoy cleaning and housework, hate gardening though and so does my husband. Fortunately our garden is not attached to the house so I don't have to look at it.

Feelingmyage55 Sun 15-Nov-20 16:10:50

I hope we get a few days warning that we will be allowed visitors inside. No one has been in my house since March. I’ve got a lot of catching up on housework to do. The garden looks good though.

Callistemon Sun 15-Nov-20 16:09:02

We did that last week! ?

Oldbat1 Sun 15-Nov-20 16:07:14

Well I had the urge today to move the beds to hoover underneath!!! Easier said than done though. We managed to move the front room double bed with effort. Decided to leave the king size until tomorrow. We will see how we feel tomorrow. Haha

Callistemon Sun 15-Nov-20 16:05:42
