Good morning from Malta where it is raining hard and I think I’m hearing thunder in the distance.

I’m feeling smug as I managed to get my outdoor chairs stacked under their waterproof cover before the deluge began.

Not so clever when it comes to the shopping though. I have run out of essentials and ought to have gone out yesterday but was too lazy. I shall have to hope for a break in the weather.

Happy birthday to Mr Norstat. Duck is my DD3’s favourite as well. Hope you both enjoy your special meal.??

Wishing a good day to all and thinking of all who are struggling.☀️

Good Morning all. Grey and a bit breezy here in Oxfordshire.
Work soon and I am going to try and persuade my boss to donate to our local school for children with special needs.
My DD is a teacher there and was telling me that they can't use the swimming pool, soft play, sensory room, or go out in the community and as they are spending so much time outside they desperately need some new things to play with.
We will give a small donation but I am going to try and get a lot more so wish me luck as the boss is notoriously tight!!
Glad to here Grandmattie feeling better and best wishes to allsmile

Good morning from Colchester where it's dry and mild.

Can I bring you my ironing Kitty?

Managed to give away quite a bit of clutter yesterday and have more being collected today. I'm advertising online and putting it outside the front door for people to collect at the time arranged to be Covid compliant.

DGS's school has been closed as there are too many C19 cases amongst the staff. DD2 is not happy to say the least.

Good morning All from a wet and windy Polmont. It isn't cold though so that's a blessing. Day two of babysitting. We had a busy day puddle splashing and walking to the swings, then splashing in soapy water etc. I'm not sure what we'll get up to today. The fish man cometh on a Tuesday morning so maybe lemon sole for tea. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a damp Essex by the sea.
I made a Christmas cake yesterday and it looks ok, hoping it tastes good too.
Not sure what we will be doing today as DH has a very painful knee. I think it's old age creeping in.
Washing to do and a casserole to make for tea.
Have a pleasant Tuesday and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning Mick and everyone, still dark here in S Hants, it feels warmer and I think it’s dry. Electrician in today to start making the nearly finished kitchen usable, decorator starts Monday, flooring in two weeks. I don’t know where the weeks are going, daily the time seems to drag, then I look at the date! Off to the farm shop in a minute as I might actually be able to cook tonight, first time for 9 days, chicken sausages, mash and beans, very cheffy!
Have a gentle day all.

Good morning all from my bit of North Leicestershire where the weather is very quiet!!!

I didn't iron yesterday so I had better do that today.

I am going to try to go to the small market in the next village. It is held on a pub car park and is limited to 8 stalls. I love all the things like this that have come out of this horrid time and hope they continue.

This afternoon there is a Zoom catchup for the Carer's course staff and volunteers. Hopefully we can swap notes on what works well and less well. Our last one was hard work as they didnt gel much so tips are needed - Zoom is not ideal.

Have the best days possible!!

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where it is still really dark. I am finding it somewhat disorientating to wake at 6.30am and it’s still pitch dark. I know it happens every year, but it seems more tiresome this year.

Glad Mattie is feeling brighter ... lovely cheerful photo.

It’s my partner’s birthday today. As we can’t go out to celebrate, I am cooking duck for him (his favourite) and I have made him a salted caramel cheesecake (a favourite of both of us).

Dragonfly another day of treatment ticked off the list. Thinking of gillybob and hope MaryD had a better night.

Have a good day, all. ?

Good morning all from Cumbria. Dry and still dark here. Already on 2 nd cup of tea. I usually go for a cycle every morning for an hour leaving at 7.30 to 7.45 am when it is a bit lighter. Then have breakfast and a leisurely bath. Today have some housework to do, may write a few more Christmas cards and a bridge match tonight. Also need to cook tea for the 5 of us and make an apple and almond cake. We have 2 apple trees in our garden so I have been making every variety of apple things and frozen a lot. Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels mild.
Work day today. Last night I tackled the wrapping of done presents. I have bought some very expensive wrapping paper and DH was having a quiet giggle at me as it is recycled and 100% vegan. He is unsure how paper can be anything but vegan!!! I suppose it could be the ink. I will buy anything if it says vegan on it, mind you I don’t often buy fruit, maybe if they stuck a sticker saying 100% vegan on them I would have one every day??
I may ask DD if DGS can come over for a sleepover tonight as I am off tommorrow and she sounds exhausted when I speak to her, her DH is away and I am sure I am allowed to do childcare, if it is necessary. I will look into it.
I do hope that everyone has the best day possible for them, and they can find a smile in themselves, even just a little one?

grandMattie Tue 17-Nov-20 06:51:10

Oh, I meant to add that I bought some chilies at the market the other day.???

NanKate Tue 17-Nov-20 06:50:11

Good morning Mick and All.

Dark, cloudy and cold, I think, here in South Bucks.

Good that you are feeling more chipper grandMattie. ?

Off to see my lovely Podiatrist this morning. He has kept going throughout both Lockdowns fortunately. Otherwise another pootling and faffing day as Kitty would say.

Bellasnana I think our man is on this afternoon ?????It’s going to be a tough match.

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

Another early appointment for me. I have to wake up early because I have to swallow a pill then sit upright for an hour before I can eat or drink. Gives me plenty of time for GN!

Pleased you are feeling better Grandmatty. I meant to say I tried your chicken recipe and loved it. I had never used Baharat before. Now I shall look for more recipes. Discovered how good Harissa is recently too.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from north Surrey. DH has brought me tea in bed, not peeped out to see what the weather is doing but forecast says a dry day.
Had a lovely little catch up with DS’s partner and DGDs yesterday. 2year old spent the hour splashing in muddy puddles, we had to pour the water out of her wellies. Their attention span is so short at that age, running through the puddles and from one activity to another, such a joy to watch her simple pleasures.
I did see the baby smile albeit in her sleep, milky dreams I expect.
Broken the back of the painting so hoping today should finish the job. Will be nice to have the house back in order.
Yesterday evening I spent some time looking at one of the GN threads. Some very talented posters with their humour and poetry MawB kept me amused.
Hope all have a good day today, however you choose to spend it. As the lovely GMs know there is no competition on who we are and what we do

Good morning from the Midlands. Looks like being a mild but dull day. Woken at 5am by Refuse Collectors. Think I will do some more gardening, not too long though, then a walk. Got to stop all my home baking as everything tighter round the waist.

grandMattie Tue 17-Nov-20 06:30:03

Good morning from a dark stormy E Kent.
Better day yesterday, buoyed up by your kindness, encouragement and good wishes. Thank you.
Ashcombe, our church bells were silenced by some prattish B&B customer in a very public spat. The national press was on it too. Now they only ring from 0700 to 2100. Don’t hear the 2000 curfew very often either.
Saw the optician and, inevitably, needed new glasses. What was amazing is that I got 3 pairs for what I would normally pay for ONE pair at Boots. I shall no longer be a loyal customer at the latter if they’re working well. The boys who served me couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Well done them!
Have a good day, stay safe. ❤️

Good Morning everyone from a wet Severnside.

After giving my garden centre visit some thought yesterday, I decided not to go. I knew I wouldn’t feel comfortable even though I much wanted to look at their Christmas goodies etc. It’s weird thinking you’re not ok but you’re ok, you’re ok but you’re not ok about it all. Well, that’s me anyway.

I pottered about instead tidying up what I still call my daughters bedroom as I’ve been plonking stuff on the bed of late. I checked the painting I did on my air dry clay and was very pleased to see the colour I mixed up to make lavender was exactly as I wanted.

I’ve got a few jobs to do today for my brother so that’ll keep me occupied.

Take care all to stay safe ?

Ashcombe Tue 17-Nov-20 06:17:21

Good morning, everyone!

It’s a very still, dry morning in Torbay as I listen to the chimes of the nearby church clock. When I bought this flat six years ago, I thought the sound would keep me awake but it doesn’t. In the daytime it chimes every 15 minutes but only on the hour through the night (11.00pm -7.00am). I often think of past generations who may well have depended on the sound of it, if they were too poor to own any kind of time piece.

My DS was 39 yesterday so I enjoyed a video call with him in the evening, during which four year old DGS fell asleep on the sofa! Talking (or listening!) to Grandma must be exhausting!

A rather inactive day led to a rather restless night but such times are rare so I can’t complain. Others on this supportive thread have far more discomforts than a broken night and I wish everyone relief from whatever they are suffering.

LauraNorder Tue 17-Nov-20 06:15:36

Good morning Mick good morning all. Woken by the roaring, howling winds here in dark Anglesey.
Tuesday already, doing less and less and yet the time seems to be flying by in the wind.
Will come back later to read all the catchups.
Hoping for a very lovely day for everyone.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and wet outside this morning in Brackley.
Today , tidy up , may even start to compile my xmas card list.
Although I popped out twice yesterday , its getting quiet again , maybe the government may have finally got the message across .
I do those figures that are broadcast on the news , and there are figure errors , with Matt Hancock yesterday at briefing he gave sundays figures as the new ones had not been posted on a relevant website.
Take Care ,
Mick
