I have the washing machine on with bed linen so putting clean linen on will be my first task. I then will go for a walk while it is still dry. I have some ironing to do and i then plan to wrap up christmas gifts, curstesy of a well known online service. I may also write cards. I also have a call to make regarding a planned trip to Cornwall next April and hopefully will book it. Its good to have things to do for a change.
I feel tired just reading all these posts......
Drive out today through a small village which displays artwork on its walls - they change it every year so checking the 2020 display. Then through a disused gold mine, past some of its workings and across a volcanic (not alive) ridge into an arable valley to a small village to check whether a favourite restaurant is open for lunch. Clint Eastwood spent a lot of time here filming spaghetti westerns and the village streets are named after the actors and crew. Supermarket next and back to enjoy a late afternoon G & T in the sun.
PS. Forgot to say I was out walking the dog first thing before all the above activities. OH has taken some "stuff" to the dump. They are operating an even car numbers alternate days to cut down on traffic there. Had a bit of a clear out yesterday in anticipation of his trip.
I'm going to primark to exchange clothes my 8 year old granddaughter bought. She was on a shopping spree with grandad and bought all the wrong sizes!
I've done my 10k steps, bathed dog, done a quick shop and completed one load of washing. DD and I have planned to sort out and clean junk room tomorrow, dismantle a desk and take it to tip, so I need to 'prepare' that (probably means think about it and check I've got enough of right cleaning products!!) Now? Sort out what I need to get organised for Christmas presents.
?mrsdof - very sad. X
I've done two washloads this morning, one of which I tumble-dried. I've used the dishwasher. I've played some online Scrabble and Words with Friends. I have now adjourned to the laptop to answer correspondence and to do a bit of family history research. I have been knitting some little dolls and I need to press them before sewing up so the iron is at the ready. I don't fancy crawling about in the loft for the Christmas tree this year so decided I am going to knit a little doll every day, find a nice branch, and hang all the dolls from it for a festive look - I hope. Puzzling over whether or not I can knit angels wings!
More decorating! Hopefully we’ve finished sanding down so I can stop looking like I have over done the dry shampoo! We want to downsize and have a long list of things to do before it goes on the market.
The gardener is here making changes to my garden. It's a two day job. So far, besides the usual morning jobs, I've made tea for him and been to Waitrose. Having coffee now, then more tea at 11am for gardener. I've decided to write Christmas cards and catch up with filing whilst I'm having to be here to confer with the gardener from time to time. He will be joined shortly by 2 more men, so more tea on the horizon. More of the same tomorrow. Looking forward to the end result and especially the spring.
Had eye test this morning. Now home for lunch and this afternoon I will be cutting wood for my burner. Cold weather promised by end of week so need to build the pile up. I don't have central heating.
Had a new carpet fitted yesterday (hallelujah!) but now have a lot of paint touching up to do around the skirting boards. Mmmmm.... However, there's no rush so I might just do a stretch at a time. It's the getting started...........
Like the op, have bed linen in the machine and hopefully will hang out on the line if it stays dry. Will do some if the jigsaw which I started yesterday but is proving to be very challenging! Its a 1000 piece Wasjig which means the picture on the box isn't the one of the finished puzzle, it's just a clue! I will plough on and won't let it beat me. Will drag OH away from computer and go for a walk soon.
Online Zoom tonight for Tuneless choir, always great fun.
Oh mrsdof so sorry to hear of your loss, and that you've 2 funerals in a week.
Ninjas???? Bin!
My bin’s been out more than me this year!
Very mild here, so a big wash of towels in the machine now and doing all the bathmats in a second load. Letter to construct to a couple renting a property I bought to help boost my pension income - I’ve been very understanding but the outstanding amount increases every month. They are good tenants but always late with rent and since furlough, I’ve had less than 20% of what they should’ve paid.
kate1949 - I joke that my ninjas been out more than me this year!
I have walked down to our doctor’s surgery to put in a repeat prescription request. On the way back I knocked on a friend’s door and ended up having a lovely ( distanced) chat for half an hour. Luckily the weather is mild.
New lounge carpet being fitted so keeping out of the way. Clean up later.
Settle with some sewing this afternoon and ‘ Bake off’ this evening.
Albertina, when you have got your head around emptying your garage could you please come and start on ours?? We too are moving and the garage has over the years been filled with everything that we might need sometime its a nightmare but it all has to go.
I have just walked the dog for an hour because it's not raining so she was happy to be out this morning. I am having a coffee before I start making shortbread and then I'm getting Xmas stuff out of the loft and no, I'm not putting them up lol, I've a friend coming to do a wee job so he will get them down and put in the garage so it's handier for me. He will then eat most of the shortbread I have made to save me eating it all and then hopefully I'll get another dog walk if the stupid rain stays off.
not looking forward to dentist visit at 3pm to have a tooth extracted! Ouch!
I’m afraid I have a funeral of a friend to attend today at 12pm. This will be a bit like a dress rehearsal for my DM’s funeral at the same Crematorium on Thursday. Dreading it all. It’s been a bloody awful week

We're feeling as though we're made of cotton wool, waiting for our covid test outcome but won't be at all surprised if it's positive.
If I can find the energy to get out of the chair and get washed and dressed I'm hoping I can manage to plant up a couple of pots with some cyclamen I was given for my birthday. There are 6 plants to go in 2 pots, I may end up doing 1 pot today, the other one tomorrow. Or I may just go back to bed.
I seem to be doing the same as most of you but I also love listening to podcasts and talking books and having a nap after lunch. Kew gardens with friends tomorrow.
I'm still tidying summer pots in the garden so might do a couple more today. It's very gloomy outside. Sorted out some begonia things yesterday to try and keep them over-winter.
Then get the bins and boxes ready to put out tonight as the bin men come early tomorrow. Altogether a thrilling day!
Quite an exciting day here! The window cleaner is here and the bin men have been!
