Good Morning All x.
Heavy grey skies after all colours of pinks/reds/oranges earlier. We can't now expect too much at this time of year. It doesn't appear to be too cold as yet. No heating on here until later on in the evenings.

Have not long finished my lovely muddy strong cup of tea---sets me up for the day, so now I'm ready for the crumpets and hot choc.
Enjoyed my chops yesterday too and threw some sprouts in with the cauli, they were as sweet as a nut.

Some ironing to do, then a look online for a couple of photo frames for these latest school photos before they're obliterated with dust. I got my mincer yesterday from a charity shop online. It's brand new and nobody was bidding beyond £4.99, so it was mine grin Then I saw the same one being sold for £20 so I was thrilled. Rissoles on the menu when it arrives.

No sign of D yet, but not to worry because I scurried to the local shop for cat food and fresh milk and there's no real desperation for anything as yet, it's more a case of stocking up for Christmas and in case the weather turns.

I was going to break eggs with a big stick during these lockdowns---like re-wiring the standard lamp and a table lamp and remove the old " fabric " wire but it hasn't happened, after me having been so determined to do it as well to get them going. I love side lamps rather than the main one.

Hope all goes well with your specialist Dragonfly x.
Thoughts to Bellasnana with her family upset and hoping things can resolve themselves x

Hoping those with problems/ ills and worries are able to overcome the worst, always thinking of Gilly in this respect x

Take care everyone and stay safe xx flowers

Good morning from the Shropshire/Powys border where it’s dull, breezy and just starting to rain.

We achieved quite a lot yesterday around the house so will aim to do the same today.

We are House of Games fans too.We compete against each other!I like it when the contestants are battling against each other a bit more than they are this week.

Happy birthday to your little granddaughter Marydoll???

Sorry you are struggling with your angina Mary and Cherry hope you have had a restful night.

I hope your treatment and consultation go well today dragonfly?

Bellas Nanna?

Thinking of gilly and all our missing posters?

Marydoll Wed 18-Nov-20 08:46:49

Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow. Not a day for venturing out, not that I will be going anywhere.
Unfortunately, I'm finding it difficult to do much. For once its not my RA which is making life difficult, but my angina, which just won't settle down. ? I don't do lying down!!!!

Disappointing , but not surprising news yesterday, we are back into lockdown here from Friday. ?
We live on the boundary of three local authorities, which are all in the fourth tier. Scotland has five tiers, 0 - 4.
Its all a bit crazy. Our usual supermarket is 10 minutes away, but DH can't go, if we needed anything!
My daughter lives, ten minutes away, but she shouldn't come to see us.
However, my SIL brings my prescriptions, from the pharmacy in the next county. It's all a bit complicated, but very necessary.
My GP did trying faxing to a well known chain pharmacy in our town, but they refused to accept the prescription.

We were supposed to go and see DS1's new home on Saturday, but it's also in the adjoining county.
Our garage is full of stuff from his flat, which he had stored there to make the move easier. The Scottish Government is proposing to making it illegal to travel, apart from essential journeys, so I don't know if that counts as essential.

I'm now expecting yet another letter from the shielding folk, but I already know what it will say, as my consultant has already put the fear of death into me. ?
Surprisingly, I didn't receive the usual text from the shielding folk, as I usually do after any announcement. However, I did receive one from the local health authority.
I have to give the authorities credit for keeping me up to date, depressing though it is.

Its my wee granddaughter's f ? fifth birthday a day I never imagined I would see.
She was a wee IVF baby, born at the final attempt to my son and DIL after ten years of marriage.
Born at the point where I was forced to give up my job, dragged from the classroom, kicking and screaming, due to my deteriorating health, she has been a shining light in our lives.
Without meaning to sound melodramatic, ( and you know I do like a drama) I never thought I would see her going to school.
A very happy day for all of us.

Much to my surprise, a thread about saving things for best, which I started has been rolling along with no contention or derailment. I was prompted to do it, as reaction to all the nastiness recently and to encourage posters, who perhaps would like to dip a toe in the water. Success!

For all who are struggling with worries or ill health, ? , especially Bella, * Dragonfly* and Urmstongran.
Have the best day you can.

Greyduster Wed 18-Nov-20 08:41:07

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dry at the moment in South Yorkshire. We may go for a short walk before the rain comes in, and call in the supermarket for a birthday card and some cake decorations. I felt great yesterday. Today I am back to full time sneezing and nose blowing! Can’t use hay fever as an excuse now can I? Have a good safe day folks.

Lins1066 Wed 18-Nov-20 08:29:47

Good morning Mick and all. Rain expected here on the S Welsh coast, though out to sea towards Cherry the sky is clear and bright, inland it is grey and glowering.
Will take the puppy out for a walk today, he didn't have one yesterday as the three of us fell asleep in the afternoon.
Mr L's eye is feeling less sore, the eyeball is still completely red. According to the eye surgeon detatched retinas can run in the family and Mr L's grandmother had one.

Sorry that you had upsetting news Bellasnana I hope that things are resolved soon for all concerned. We have had a year of it so I sympathise. Best wishes for your consultation dragonfly.

I bought cod yesterday so it's fish pie on the menu today. A Sainsbury's delivery in an hour, some items not available, it matters not. Have a safe and pleasant day everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 18-Nov-20 08:28:26

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have no sun‼️ So much for the BBC weather forecast. We have a completely cloud filled sky - perhaps the sun will come out to play later?

I finished my John Grisham book - it was indeed a page turner! No wonder it was on the Sunday Times bestseller list! Last night I started ‘Banking On It’ by Ann Boden and my Kindle tells me I’m already 25% through it. You can tell how I spend my time!
#lazygran

Our Covid warrior had a telephone consultation with Occupational Health & they have suggested a phased return to work when she is ready. She is on week 7 now with long-Covid and has a sick note o cover her for next week then review. It’s been horrible for her by all accounts and like many others with LC she wasn’t hospitalised.

Our eldest daughter who is a speech & language therapist in Yorkshire has volunteered to assist on the wards at a large teaching hospital there, with a team turning patients over in bed who are recovering from the Coronavirus. So many poorly people with this nasty virus. They must be so scared wondering when they will get well again.

Thinking this morning of all of us with worries and hope Wednesday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Grandmabatty Wed 18-Nov-20 08:26:11

Good morning All. It's blowy in Polmont and the clouds are fairly throwing themselves across the sky so a day of showers ahead, I fear. Bellasnanna?. A gentle start to my day with a bit of a long lie. I don't get dgs til this afternoon. A rather disturbed night as my neighbour has a motion detected security light which shines into my bedroom and it was on and off all night. He did once ask if it bothered me and truthfully I told him no, however it bothered me last night! I think the wind and the neighbourhood cats must have set it off. So I shall be gentle with myself today. No great plans. I might make peanut butter cookies later with dgs and see how it goes. I'll wrap ds birthday presents ready to drop off tomorrow. His area is going into tier four on Friday so a strict lock down. I'll probably walk to the local post office this morning to send a long overdue birthday present to a friend. Apart from that, we'll see what the day brings. Have a good one, all.

Morning team Mick, it’s Groundhog Day regarding the weather in my part of S Lanarkshire, grey, windy and wet, again.

Sorry to hear you’ve had upsetting news Bellasnana.

This is my day for doing the school run at 3 o’clock. I actually meet the DGCs off the school bus along with several others, I’ve got to know the Mums and Dads over the years and enjoy our socially distanced chats. Today will be the last day for a while as we go into tier 4 from Friday and informal childcare is no longer allowed.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. Look after yourselves.

Taichinan Wed 18-Nov-20 08:20:35

Good morning Mick and all. I've joined the early birds today as I have an appointment with the opticians at 9.15. Your pink dawn sounds just what the doctor ordered Grandmattie - there's nothing like sunshine in the early morning to get the day off to a good start. The sun doesn't rise here on the Angus coast until about 8.00 - if these grey skies will allow it through! I did chuckle at your DH's comment Grandmattie - I have that sort of "blindness* too. With me it's with beards and moustaches - I genuinely don't see them! There was a chap at work who sported a big bushy jet black beard and I quite genuinely didn't see it and I didn't notice when he shaved it off either!

With such heartfelt recommendations, Richard Osman is on my viewing list for Friday now. I haven't watched the show before as it clashes with the news, which I like to get out of the way early so it doesn't spoil bedtime. It sounds as if I'll be a convert though - he's such a clever, unassuming man.

I had such a lovely time with my niece, who I met up with after my hair appointment yesterday. We sat outside with coffee and a bacon roll each - in what felt like a Force 10 gale! - and chatted for nearly two hours. The pretty little cafe supplied as with blankets to wrap ourselves in so we were cosy - although the wind didn't do anything for my hairstyle!!

After Wee Nic's announcement, my part of Scotland remains in Tier 3 which - as I don't usually go into a pub or dine out in the evening - has not a lot of meaning to me. All the shops are open. But it does mean there can be no Christmas planning until mid December, and no travel outwith our local council areas either! If I have to spend it alone, so be it - but I hope I am given a chance to visit my nearest M&S for lovely treats first. To be honest, Nicola has guided us through this nightmare with strength and fairness. I may not be in favour of her politics, but I do admire her leadership.

Now off I pop before I make myself late. I'm sure I shall be back in later, but do have the best day possible everyone, and I hope your treatment is as uneventful as it seems to have been to date Dragonfly. ???

Good morning everyone from a fairly bright but chilly east coast of Fife. I’m keeping my arms under the bedcovers until I’m forced to move by my Carer coming in. Here’s hoping she’s a wee bit later today. My dh is on the move as usual. He’s had a terrible cough from his asthma these past few days it seems to have settled at last. I’m so cosy listening to the wind. I think I’ll be sitting in the conservatory this morning reading my new book Lady in Waiting it’s so interesting about how the other half live and the royal familywhen they were little. I’m also following the Crown it goes on forever. That’s Netflix for you. Enjoy your day everyone be kind to yourself and others less fortunate and dae as yer telt! wink

Good Morning everyone
Bellasnana sorry to hear that you have had news.flowers
I think I got out of bed the wrong side this morning and feel very grumpy!
Also just heard that GC child minder is getting tested after showing symptoms and am worried about DD catching it.
Anyway have painted my ? on and off to work now.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe

Pittcity Wed 18-Nov-20 08:11:51

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's going to reach 16° today.
As DH has gone fishing I am taking the opportunity to mop the floors.
Hopefully we'll have our regular Wednesday meetup online.... we've lapsed for a couple of weeks.
I need to brave the supermarket too today. ?

Love to all, especially Bellasnana

NannyJan53 Wed 18-Nov-20 08:05:40

Good morning from a very dull and cloudy Black Country.

Most exciting plan today is to walk 10 minutes round the corner, to my friends to post her birthday card. She has workman in so doubt she will want to go out for a walk.

DD phone yesterday to say her DH had been advised to call Paramedics as he had chest pains. They took him to Hospital, but luckily after tests they concluded it was Acid Reflux! Phew!

Sorry you have received sad news Bellasnana flowers

My Niece lives in Brisbane Ashcombe her birthday was 21st October. Mum and Dad posted her present and card the middle of August. To date they have not been received!

Wishing you all a pleasant and safe day.

LauraNorder Wed 18-Nov-20 08:05:26

Good morning Mick and all from a still blowy Anglesey, so used to the roar of the wind now I can sleep right through it.
Another House of Games fan here. Highlight of each day for me.
Thinking of going for a little drive to Trearddur Bay, take a car picnic and park at the seafront, watch the waves as they wash over or batter the windscreeen, mmmm, perhaps not one of my best ideas.
Glad you’re enjoying your lovely new room Dwmxwg which room will be next?
Wishing you all a good day today.

Gingster Wed 18-Nov-20 08:01:45

Good morning all and it’s a bright start here in Essex. I’m going dog walking with an old friend this morning and if it’s fine will sit in her garden and have coffee. We were next door neighbours for 24 years until we moved a couple of miles away, but we’ve always kept in touch. All in all, I’ve been her friend for 46 years.

After that lovely time spent, I will pop along to another friend, also known her for 46 years. (We were all in the Young Wives and toddler groups. Now we’re the old grannies group. ??. I’ll take her birthday present and have a little chat on the doorstep. It will be great to see them. ?.

Yesterday I went into town and bought stocking fillers for the 8 GC. Quite a lot of non essential shops open and fairly busy. I don’t think this lockdown is going to work, do you?

Poor Buzz Bellasnanna . That must have been painful.

granmattie hope your heating is sorted. Husbands are strange at times aren’t they. I’m always looking at my husband askance! ?

Beechnut enjoy your soup. Brocolli and Stilton, my absolute favourite. My trouble is, I put so much Stilton in, it’s so bad for the waistline. ?.

Ashcombe my friend has just told me, she sent a ‘dustbin’ sized parcel to her DD in Sydney and it arrived within 3 days. She said she’s going to travel ‘cargo’ in future. ?.

Well here’s hoping your day is a good one. ???

BlueSapphire Wed 18-Nov-20 07:58:17

Good morning everyone from a brighter Northampton. Am up earlier today as the gasman is coming to service the boiler, could be any time between now and Ipm.

Didn't do a lot yesterday, just the usual cleaning and tidying. Spent the afternoon watching the Kenneth Branagh version of Murder on the Orient Express; must say I prefer the earlier 70s film with Albert Finney (I think) as Poirot. DS mentioned that Branagh is doing a new Death on the Nile, so will wait and see what he does with it.

Still racking my brains trying to think of a Christmas present for DD, will have an internet browse this morning. It may well be an Amazon gift voucher so that she can buy as many books as she wants. (And then I can borrow them!)

Wishing all a pleasant day.

NfkDumpling Wed 18-Nov-20 07:57:02

Morning All

A very energetic sky here in the north of Norfolk. All shades of scudding clouds with glimpses of sky.

Another day in, with nothing much to do although DH may let me into our little back bedroom which he's been re-decorating. Its going to be my play room with desk, computer and all my bits moved in. My Woman-shed.

Gelisajams Wed 18-Nov-20 07:55:48

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is dry and windy with strange a foreboding light. Wind and rain is forecast.
I have decided to use my iPad as little as possible today, as I’m quite addicted to it. So it’s only going to be used for GN, my daily FaceTime with DS2, ordering my Sainsburys delivery and my daily Duo lingo practice. And I may have to look at my crochet pattern....... I think that only means I won’t be reading any news!
Sorry to hear you have received bad news Bellasnana
Take care and safe everyone ?

Nortsat Wed 18-Nov-20 07:53:06

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where it’s quite bright.

We had a nice dinner for my partner’s birthday yesterday. The duck was lovely.
I think we both ate too much salted caramel cheesecake...
Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my partner yesterday, he thought it was delightful that women he doesn’t know, would send their good wishes.

Thinking of gilly, hoping Marydoll is feeling brighter and sending Dragonfly every good wish for the consultation today.

Have a good day, all. ?

Sar53 Wed 18-Nov-20 07:47:55

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
I was expecting a delivery yesterday but it didn't arrive. It turned out that the delivery driver tried to deliver it to the wrong address and it was refused, it has now been cancelled. It was from Ama..n but delivered by another company, must try harder !!
My 9 year old DGD can finally return to school today and she can't wait. My daughter says she has been very emotional the last few days.
Not sure of our plans today but I will be finishing off my last cross stitch.
Have a lovely Wednesday and stay safe everyone xx

Jaxjacky Wed 18-Nov-20 07:44:43

Good morning all from a brightening, dry S Hants. Another House of Games fan here, we always watch it, beats the news any day!
Bellasnana hope your news is not too distressing. dragonfly46 ?for this afternoon.
Highlight of today is Tesco delivery pm and hopefully electrics in the kitchen sorted to make it useable, electrician delayed from yesterday. I might nip over and see DD from my car window to her front door, youngest GC is isolating for a week after a case in his class so DD off too.
Hoping there a chink of ?for you all today.

ginny Wed 18-Nov-20 07:38:30

Good Morning. It’s dull and dry here in N. Bucks. Bit like me really. Sure I’ll feel a bit better once I’ve had a cup of tea.

Another House of Games fan here. I’m ordering the box game as well as the book.

Very pleased with the new carpet and the lounge has all been put to rights. New coffee table arriving on Friday. Having trouble finding the right lampshades for a table lamp and floor lamp. Probably have to make do with the old ones until I can look around the shops.

Nothing much happening today. Maybe a walk , maybe write the Christmas cards. Probably some sewing.

Have a good day all and hope you find a ?.

brook2704 Wed 18-Nov-20 07:36:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild but a grey start to the day.
Yesterday afternoon we enjoyed a lovely walk near the river in town and over the Ness Islands, stopping for a coffee at a local cafe. Today I’m having my hair done this morning which is so desperately needed and a trip to Tesco later.
Well done with finishing the decorating dwmxwg it sounds lovely and enjoy your rest today!
Sorry to hear you’ve had some upsetting news bellasnanna sending ❤️ and I hope things get a bit better soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles and please take care all whatever the day brings ?

NanKate Wed 18-Nov-20 07:35:24

Morning Mick and All.

It’s grey here too in South Bucks.

I feel the same as you Mick missing visiting my favourite cafe. At least we are on the last day of the second week of Lockdown.

Yes Bellasnana I agree superb game but not the outcome we wanted. Our lad is back on tomorrow. ? Sorry you are feeling down with family worries ?

Nothing much planned, heyho ?

Ashcombe Wed 18-Nov-20 07:26:29

For Beechnut, GrannyGravy13 and any other Osman fans, I see he has been given a slot for House of Games on Friday evenings at 8.30pm on BBC1, starting this week!
