Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry and looks like there may have been a frost as well here in Brackley .
Today will do a shop later , and maybe spend the day in as usual.
I cannot wait to able to get out to further afield on the buses .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning Mick and the gang from a peaceful, dry Torbay,

Yesterday I visited The Range where, despite its maze of a layout, I found all I was seeking! Social distancing is nigh on impossible in a store where the aisles are so narrow and most customers are like me - wandering around, unable to find easily what they require!

Other errands included sending off cards to my daughter in Australia. With few flights going there I was pleased by the reassurance of our postmistress that the only ones taking mail are landing in Melbourne, which is about an hour's journey from DD1. The last posting date for air mail to the Antipodes is earlier than usual: 4th December.

Later, I was delighted to receive from DH an early Christmas present: a copy of Richard Osman's House of Games book. He knows I enjoy the show and have wanted the book for a while. One day, there'll be an opportunity to share it with family or friends!

Thinking of all those with health issues or worries of any kind.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s dark and I’m feeling a breeze from my open window.

Thank you for the kind words yesterday about my clay tiles.
I shall carry on with the job for my brother this morning. I hope to finish and have an early lunch of Stilton and broccoli soup.
Hopefully just two more weeks Mick and you’ll be off??
in the meantime stay safe and well with all in GM ?

Beechnut Wed 18-Nov-20 06:24:15

I’m enjoy House of Games Ashcombe.
It’s a wonderful watch after the C update at 5pm.

grandMattie Wed 18-Nov-20 06:29:35

Good morning from a still dark EKent.
I’m so sorry for our Scottish GMers being out into Tier 4. (The word always reminds me of the more apt “_tear_”) ?
It is very mild, which is a good thing as our heating is on the blink. It won’t respond to either the clock or thermostat, so we’ve had to turn it off at the mains not to swelter in tropical temperatures 24/7. When we went to have a look yesterday, DH told me he couldn’t see the instructions because he wasn’t wearing his glasses, was I wearing mine. Since I only take them off in bed, and have done so for the last 45 years, my jaw rather dropped and I looked at him in incredulity! The plumber is coming this morning.
I made something I call plum frangipani crumble tart last night. A new recipe. It says it’s enough for 8. My word they must have large appetites. I’m going to freeze half and take 3or4 days to finish the other half.
Stay well, stay safe. ❤️

Yes, indeed Beechnut! I enjoy the quirkiness of the rounds Richard's relaxed style of interaction with the contestants, especially the underdogs like the poor guy who set a new record recently by scoring minus one by the end of the quiz!

Good morning Mick Ashcombe Beechnut and all to come. Dark here in north Surrey but doesn’t feel cold, heating has not kicked in yet. Freddie the canine alarm clock wakes us at 6am as per usual and DH has just delivered my cup of tea.
Have PT session this morning, he will need to be gentle with me as my back is suffering from 3 days of decorating. Painting all finished and scrubbed the carpet too. Just waiting on new bedding to be delivered and it will be finished. Pleased with the result but makes all the other rooms look a bit sad and tired.
Think I will have a restful day today. Have a jigsaw puzzle which needs finishing and try and do some more online Christmas shopping. Luckily this year we have decided as a family to have secret Santa for most of the adult relations which has diminished that list from 10 to 1, result ?
Have a

Good morning GrandMattie

cornergran Wed 18-Nov-20 06:36:48

Morning Mick, morning All for. Dark and dry in our corner of Somerset. Window cleaner is due so bound to rain later. It’s dust removal and grocery delivery for us this morning. This afternoon I’m aiming to make a card for our Littlest who loves things through the post and hasn’t yet learned to be critical of my efforts then with luck finish the Christmas cards. With even more luck Mr C will do the ironing, domestic God and Goddess that’s us grin. Hope poorly people have had a good night and can be comfortable today. Take care everyone.

grandMattie Wed 18-Nov-20 06:52:33

Dawn is coming upon us. Beautiful pastel, nacreous pinks in an apparently clear sky. Lifts the spirits.

Bellasnana Wed 18-Nov-20 07:08:46

Good morning from Malta where the sun is not shining, but it is dry so far. Still quite warm in the low 20’sC.

Had the vet to the house yesterday evening, she clipped Buzz’s toenails but took a bit too much off one of them. It looked like a murder scene as he ran all over the place spreading bloody paw prints throughout. I had quite a job scrubbing blood off the rugs and washing the floors. I don’t know how murderers manage it!

Not much planned for today. I made soup yesterday so that’s my meals sorted for two or three days.

I shall watch the tennis later. NanKate I was disappointed our chap lost despite playing superbly well.

Feeling a bit glum due to some upsetting news from family members. Must try to put my happy face on but it’s going to take some doing.

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

I was hoping for a lie in this morning as my treatment is this afternoon. I am seeing the oncologist and his clinic is in the afternoon. However, my tree man is coming early to cut back some trees!

No pink skies for us Grandmattie it looks like rain.

Pantglas2 Wed 18-Nov-20 07:12:42

Morning all from a dry north Wales where the excitement of yesterday was workmen placing a new lamppost outside our sitting room window.......?. I’m assuming that today they’ll be along to remove the old one - I can hardly contain myself!

Some financial finagling today as some savings bonds are maturing and interest rates are so low I will need to find a new nest in which to squirrel ? em!

Sad to see some of our Scottish Grans going into tiers etc - this wretched lurgy needs to be gone now!

Good morning Mick and all

Just getting light here in S E Essex, I am waiting for 5yr old GS to wake up, no doubt he will want his full breakfast before school.

Ashcombe I love House of Games followed by Strictly Takes Two it’s my hour with a glass of wine.

We are going to the Farm Shop this morning after my lovely cleaners have waved their magic wands over the house ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

kittylester Wed 18-Nov-20 07:19:51

Morning all from North Leicestershire where our sky is just plain old grey!

DH has a drive this morning and has to leave home at 8.15 so I'm staying in bed why he hurtles round.

Our cleaner will be here this morning so I will have to get going when it's safe to do so!!

I have some admin to do and my online Sainsbury's shop to finish off.

Have the very best day possible.

Ashcombe Wed 18-Nov-20 07:26:29

For Beechnut, GrannyGravy13 and any other Osman fans, I see he has been given a slot for House of Games on Friday evenings at 8.30pm on BBC1, starting this week!

NanKate Wed 18-Nov-20 07:35:24

Morning Mick and All.

It’s grey here too in South Bucks.

I feel the same as you Mick missing visiting my favourite cafe. At least we are on the last day of the second week of Lockdown.

Yes Bellasnana I agree superb game but not the outcome we wanted. Our lad is back on tomorrow. ? Sorry you are feeling down with family worries ?

Nothing much planned, heyho ?

brook2704 Wed 18-Nov-20 07:36:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild but a grey start to the day.
Yesterday afternoon we enjoyed a lovely walk near the river in town and over the Ness Islands, stopping for a coffee at a local cafe. Today I’m having my hair done this morning which is so desperately needed and a trip to Tesco later.
Well done with finishing the decorating dwmxwg it sounds lovely and enjoy your rest today!
Sorry to hear you’ve had some upsetting news bellasnanna sending ❤️ and I hope things get a bit better soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles and please take care all whatever the day brings ?

ginny Wed 18-Nov-20 07:38:30

Good Morning. It’s dull and dry here in N. Bucks. Bit like me really. Sure I’ll feel a bit better once I’ve had a cup of tea.

Another House of Games fan here. I’m ordering the box game as well as the book.

Very pleased with the new carpet and the lounge has all been put to rights. New coffee table arriving on Friday. Having trouble finding the right lampshades for a table lamp and floor lamp. Probably have to make do with the old ones until I can look around the shops.

Nothing much happening today. Maybe a walk , maybe write the Christmas cards. Probably some sewing.

Have a good day all and hope you find a ?.

Jaxjacky Wed 18-Nov-20 07:44:43

Good morning all from a brightening, dry S Hants. Another House of Games fan here, we always watch it, beats the news any day!
Bellasnana hope your news is not too distressing. dragonfly46 ?for this afternoon.
Highlight of today is Tesco delivery pm and hopefully electrics in the kitchen sorted to make it useable, electrician delayed from yesterday. I might nip over and see DD from my car window to her front door, youngest GC is isolating for a week after a case in his class so DD off too.
Hoping there a chink of ?for you all today.

Sar53 Wed 18-Nov-20 07:47:55

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
I was expecting a delivery yesterday but it didn't arrive. It turned out that the delivery driver tried to deliver it to the wrong address and it was refused, it has now been cancelled. It was from Ama..n but delivered by another company, must try harder !!
My 9 year old DGD can finally return to school today and she can't wait. My daughter says she has been very emotional the last few days.
Not sure of our plans today but I will be finishing off my last cross stitch.
Have a lovely Wednesday and stay safe everyone xx

Nortsat Wed 18-Nov-20 07:53:06

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where it’s quite bright.

We had a nice dinner for my partner’s birthday yesterday. The duck was lovely.
I think we both ate too much salted caramel cheesecake...
Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my partner yesterday, he thought it was delightful that women he doesn’t know, would send their good wishes.

Thinking of gilly, hoping Marydoll is feeling brighter and sending Dragonfly every good wish for the consultation today.

Have a good day, all. ?

Gelisajams Wed 18-Nov-20 07:55:48

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is dry and windy with strange a foreboding light. Wind and rain is forecast.
I have decided to use my iPad as little as possible today, as I’m quite addicted to it. So it’s only going to be used for GN, my daily FaceTime with DS2, ordering my Sainsburys delivery and my daily Duo lingo practice. And I may have to look at my crochet pattern....... I think that only means I won’t be reading any news!
Sorry to hear you have received bad news Bellasnana
Take care and safe everyone ?

Morning All

A very energetic sky here in the north of Norfolk. All shades of scudding clouds with glimpses of sky.

Another day in, with nothing much to do although DH may let me into our little back bedroom which he's been re-decorating. Its going to be my play room with desk, computer and all my bits moved in. My Woman-shed.
