The more tenuous and obscure the better!
My aunty went out with the bloke who designed * both*
A) the Cadbury's Chocolate Orange packaging, and
B) Buzby, the British Telecom mascot

1. I was mentioned in a Commons debate so my name is in Hansard.

2. My mother was a neighbour of and friendly with Cary Grant's mother.

In the opening credits of TV-am in the early 1980s, there were three visuals. One was two people jumping out of an aeroplane holding a flag with the word "Good" written on it. The second was a load of pigeons on the ground, forming the word "morning". And the third, which is my tenuous claim to fame, was sailors standing on the deck of HMS Hermes, forming the word "Britain".

My husband was one of those sailors grin

I had my photograph in the (local) newspaper, with Barry Hines, author of "Kes" when he came to our school to give a talk.

MissAdventure ???
He also walked from the Cricketers to the Cliffs Pavillion with Jimmi Hendrix.
That was obviously before he was famous. He was the support band for Dave Dee. ( Jimmy Hendrix, not OH) ?

I also laughed at the " I can't tell you" posts, not in the spirit at all
But they are in the spirit because it is supposed to be funny.

I once asked a man the time when he was sitting in the foyer of the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park. My friend later told me it was Brian Ferry. Without makeup which is why I didn't recognise him. This was in the days of Roxy Music.

Ealdemodor

My husband ( a lorry driver) once made the Radio 2 travel news as a broken down lorry on the M6.

This was the one that made me laugh the most and was in the spirit of tenuous.

I also laughed at the " I cant tell you" posts, not in the spirit at all.

MissAdventure Fri 20-Nov-20 17:30:35

I do!

stewaris Fri 20-Nov-20 17:28:30

I married a guy who was a member of The Cocteau Twins before they were famous. If anyone remembers them.

Hellogirl1 Fri 20-Nov-20 17:21:28

I nearly forgot, I was sworn at over the phone by singer Dorothy Squires. I was a GPO telephonist many years ago, I answered a signal and was asked for a certain number. It was local, so I told her she could dial it herself. She swore at me and hung up. She dialled 0 several times, after about the 6th time someone put her through to get rid of her!

Petula Clark’s aunty lived near us. We spent a lot of time waiting for her to visit. She never did as far as I know,.

MissAdventure Fri 20-Nov-20 17:12:58

My husband cleaned the Royal Toilet when Princess Anne was visiting Portsmouth. He was most disappointed when she didn't use it but said she was a lovely person.

That made me laugh, icanhandthemback!

I was an extra on Crossroads back in the 60's. We had to pretend to be having a conversation and unfortunately I got the giggles. When the episode aired they had cut me out. I was quite relieved actually.

Pinkrinse Fri 20-Nov-20 17:04:35

I was interviewed by Danny Baker the night Margaret Thatcher resigned and appeared on ITV.

silverlining48 Fri 20-Nov-20 16:59:34

Miss A. I was in that audience too. smile was looking out for her too, but wasn’t sure what she looked like and I was right at the top in those cheap steep seats at the back, feeling a bit queasy.

Gin Fri 20-Nov-20 16:56:11

I went to school with a girl whose brother was the boyfriend of Diana Doors. Her shocking pink car was often parked outside friend’s house!

silverlining48 Fri 20-Nov-20 16:54:10

Have just remembered the famous man who no one likes in the b and b in Sussex as I mentioned on page 7. No one helped me out, but luckily it’s just come to me. It was ..... ..............Piers Morgan.

petra Fri 20-Nov-20 16:48:45

Just telling OH of some of the funny posts.
He said: have you told them that you sleep with a man that gave Peter Green ( Albatross for those who don't know who that was) a cigarette in the Cricketers pub in Southend ?

petra Fri 20-Nov-20 16:40:10
