Another vacuous thread! Tenuous Claims to Fame

My sister went to school with Michaela Strachan and a friend of hers won Masterchef. My claims to fame are meeting Bruce Springsteen and being in a Disney film.

I have met Cliff Richard, Tommy Steele, Terry Dean and Wee Willie Harris. Been on TV a few times, last time was Tattoo Disasters. Shaken hands with Prince Charles. was allowed on the set of Brookside and Louis Emerick spent the day with us.

My husband cleaned the Royal Toilet when Princess Anne was visiting Portsmouth. He was most disappointed when she didn't use it but said she was a lovely person.

Does this count? My eldest daughter was mistaken for someone from Towie and my youngest and I were followed around a supermarket (very unnerving) by someone who eventually stopped us and whispered to my daughter "I know who you are - can I have your autograph". My daughter asked who the lady thought she was - a character in desperate housewives apparently. The lady wouldn't believe it when we tried to tell her otherwise.

I got Pearl Carr's and Teddy Johnson's autographs on the platform at Poole station for my mother. I was more interested in the train coming to take us to the caravan holiday in Swanage!

In 1970 I was working in a dry cleaners in London and gave Fraser Hines his trousers.Also working at a Butlins in Wales I served the actor who used to play Selwyn Froggett a pint of beer......

My DH went to university with Patrick Wayne, son of John Wayne in Los Angeles. He never met John Wayne though as he was always away on location filming when he went to their house.

Well known people I’ve seen at airports include Joan Collins, Patsy Kensit and Bruno Tonioli who barged into me but didn’t apologise! On flights I sat on the next row to Mark Carney in 2019 and the row behind Linda and Bernie Nolan on a Ryanair flight to Italy a few years ago.
I also saw Sigourney Weaver shopping in Beverly Hills, we were browsing not shopping ?

I stood in a queue for the Ladies behind Edwina Currie.

Driving to work one day I stopped on the King's Road to allow Bryan Ferry to cross the road.

I was in the audience of Young Scientist of the Year’ _ they told me to put a cardigan on as I was ‘ big chested’ - I was eleven!!!!!!!?

I sat on a table with John Peel,the dj backstage,whilst the group Jethro Tull were playing,my friend was going out with one of the group, also a few years before that sat in the audience of "thank your lucky stars",we were in the front row,when the camera panned round...the honeycombs were on

I met ‘very briefly’ John Profumo and his wife Valerie Hobson. He was charming?.

I met Vincent Fournier (aka “Alice Cooper”) in a bar in a hotel. He turned out to be a fascinating chap - very friendly and genuine.

We sold a boat to the pilot of the helicopter in the film CliffHanger. The scene where he takes Victor Stallone off the top of the mountain.

Living in Cornwall I have frequently watched the filming of Poldark .On one occasion my noisy dog who always accompanies me caused the director, while a steamy love scene was being filmed, to shout 'Cut'

I got Billy Cotton's autograph on Waterloo Station when I was 9. I've had a drink with James Bolam, David Jaston has used my loo, and I was Royal Mail postie to Bobby Davro for several years.

Used to see lots of Emmerdale actors around Otley. While out with my mum, we saw ‘Seth’ and my mum was very rude about him being a miserable old so and so. I think dementia was kicking in and she confused tv with reality.

As I was a Londoner in the early 70s and worked in the west end I saw many people but my claim to fame came when I was chatted up by one of the Four Tops
