The more tenuous and obscure the better!
My aunty went out with the bloke who designed * both*
A) the Cadbury's Chocolate Orange packaging, and
B) Buzby, the British Telecom mascot

I think you mean HRH Prince Philip...not HM. That title is reserved only for the Monarch.

There is an important punctuation mark in the sentence, which you may have missed, OmaforMaya.

I made Lionel Blairs bed and cleaned his room when i worked as a chambermaid in a hotel in manchester in the 1990's.

I gave birth to my first child just before Francesca Annis had her second in the same hospital. She appeared a few hours later on the ward for lunch looking stunning - fully made up, not a hair out of place, white silk negligee. The rest of us were perched on our rubber rings looking like complete wrecks.

I used to work with a cousin of Ozzie Osborne.

I met Princess Di at a Turning Point lunch where she was guest of honour. Briefly on TV in the background as a result.

Stood close to HM at a Buck House Garden Party as she spoke with an injured veteran. The Prince of Wales and Camilla were there but in the distance.

My parents once lived in the same apartment block as Peggy Ward, divorced wife of Stephen Ward, mentor of Christine Keeler.

During WW2 my late mother in law went out with a boy who claimed he invented powdered milk ....

Tom Jones poured me a Gin & Tonic after appearing on stage, at a concert organised by my Uncle! TJ was incredibly "hot and sweaty" - and I didn't taste my drink (I was only 15, but looked older), as I was too busy watching perspiration drip from his face and neck! Ew!

My cousin was the nanny for Cilla Black’s children and we’ve met Dave Guest, Princess Anne and the Duke of Edinburgh. Oh and we are remotely connected to Terry Wogan. That’s the bit I like best.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 20-Nov-20 15:24:28

I’ve never seen anyone famous nor met anyone famous. Nor related etc.

I think that’s a first??

This is a lovely companion piece to the story of the holidaying Welshman who claimed to have invented the Zimmer frame.

Hang on - surely the Zimmer frame would have been invented by Herr Zimmer?

Also re the boy and the powdered milk, what...oh never mind ... probably best not to know.

As a child, my son appeared in Joseph and his technicolour dream coat, with Phillip schofield. It was a wonderful show.

Nannatwiglet Fri 20-Nov-20 15:31:42

Yes..in answer to lovelycardigan1955...The Beatles did make an appearance on a school playing field in the film A Hard Day ‘s Night and landed by helicopter. It was in Isleworth and my school used the playing field. We all got to hear about it...It must have been about early 1960s...

Frank Allen of the pop group The Searchers went to our school. He was a few years above me.
My next door neighbour’s nephew was Princess Margaret’s Private Detective and my second cousin went out with the blonde bloke Rick Parfitt from”Status Quo”...
My mum met Shirley Bassey whilst she(mum not S!) was working in a hotel..
My cousin used to babysit for Peter Sellers’ children...

I bet your cousin could tell a tale or two!

hf59 Fri 20-Nov-20 15:37:18

My late mother in law was Welsh and so the boy she went out with who claimed to have invented powdered milk could very well be the same “holidaying Welshman” who claimed to have invented the Zimmer frame ....... small world!

Many moons ago my auntie came up with the slogan 'Soft, strong and very very long' for the Andrex toilet paper advert.

I was on national television last Wednesday. I was interviewed by the BBC and read a prayer at the service in Westminster Abbey to commemorate the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior.
