Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry and cold outside , if forecast is right , expecting to see fog when its lighter here in Brackley .
Today , will catch bus up to the new Sainsburys in the town later and do my shop.
With theses new levels in 2 when it happens , being on a beer related email group , reports as to pubs being only able to meals with a drink , taking away the social leisure of just going for a drink , it will sales as well .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning everyone, for once I am up with the larks and feeling full of energy! Don't know how long that will last!
Thank you for your kind thoughts Marydoll.
Beauregard I am so sorry to hear about your Brother. EV sorry to hear your bad news as well.
GrandMattie you are clever!
Well I have a washing load done, bread made, papers read, told you I was full of energy today! Oh and I forgot to say OH has a job on today (first for a couple of weeks) so I have an "empty"!
Stay safe everyone, hugs and best wishes for all that need them!

Stilllearning Fri 27-Nov-20 08:39:37

Morning from S Lanarkshire, very grey here today. Condolences Beauregard on the loss of your brother.
Safe journey Urmstongran, you will be so glad to see your family and reassure yourself all is well.
I am planning to ‘get my head straight’ today re Christmas, work out what I have, what’s ordered but not here yet and start card/letter writing. Lists coming on, they always make me feel better!
Hope everyone had a good day.

Bellasnana Fri 27-Nov-20 08:37:50

Good morning everyone. It’s a sunny start to the day here in Malta.

I’m so sorry to read that your brother has died, Beauregard. It is hard to lose a sibling.?

Sorry you are worried about your DGD, EllanV. I can understand how helpless you must be feeling and only hope a solution can be found.

Well done with your sewing grandMattie. You are very skillful with your needle.

Glad you are making progress Elizabeth. Sorry you were feeling poorly Nortsat, hope today is better for you.

Safe travels Urmston. I shall miss you being in the same time zone as me!? (the Panache’s are regulars in Soop’s kitchen)

Marydoll you make me feel bone idle with all you manage to accomplish and while you aren’t feeling too good as well.?

I’m off for my weekly wash and blow dry, then meeting a friend for lunch. We have not met up for a year with all the restrictions, but we should be ok sitting outside. I crave someone to chat to so I expect we will have a lot of catching up to do.

I had better get a move on. Sending best wishes to you all and special thoughts for those who have too much to handle at the moment.☀️☀️

I forget to mention earlier Brackley Town Football wise are playing at the Wirral at Tranmere tonight on TV at 730pm in the FA Cup .

grandMattie Fri 27-Nov-20 08:21:28

Oh, Ellan, how I feel for you. Falling off the wagon is absolutely dreadful. I suspect that GD is in a morass of shame. My father was a functional alcoholic so I know all about that...
Marydoll, I hope you take your own advice and rest, rest, rest!
Beauregard, I’m so sorry for your loss. Be prepared to be ambushed by emotion, be kind to yourself.
Everyone else, I’m sorry if I haven’t commented about your troubles, but please know that you are much in my thoughts. ❤️

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Nov-20 08:18:42

Oh Ellan so sorry to hear your news. What a worry for you all flowers.

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Nov-20 08:15:40

Good morning it is looking relatively bright here in Leicestershire.

It really upset me hearing we will be in tier 3 next week. I don’t really know why but it feels like this will never end and it is impossible to make plans.

So sorry for to hear about your brother Beauregarde such a shock for you flowers.

You are so clever GrandMattie it is so good to feel useful isn’t it?

I am going to make a start on the chaos in the garage today - if I don’t post tomorrow I am lost under a pile of rubbish!

EllanVannin Fri 27-Nov-20 08:14:16

Good Morning All x.
Don't know what it's doing out as I only opened the patio door enough to let the cats out but it smells cold.
Woke up when I heard the living room clock chiming, as I normally turn the chime down but forgot, so I didn't know what time it was. Anyway, it was 7 so that was fine.

Well I'm at a total loss of what to do about GD----she's " hit the bottle ". This is the one who lost her partner this year. D rang me yesterday to tell me that she'd had a row with her and of course I was fuming about it myself. GD had been counselled by the mental health team when she'd suffered a breakdown and now she's undone all that.

The situation is dire really as all the children were " farmed out " at the time with D having 3 of them, the 3 younger ones in foster care and of course Ruby-Lou in Durham. GD is pining for the children but she can't have them when she's sozzled----a catch 22 situation. I could go mad but at the same time I feel helpless as to what to do.

D has already got a houseful and also has the builders in altering the inside of her house. GD is in her own place and her dad has been staying on and off but he's useless.
I can see me having to phone the adult mental health team and telling them before she ends up at the point of no return.

Granted, I'm thinking of myself in all this as I shouldn't be enduring this at my time of life, she's turned 36 for goodness sake and should pull herself together and think of the children, all healthy and happy. This is when I can't understand people turning to drink, it's a killer.

Sorry for putting a dampener on things but everyone's gone out of their way to help and this is what you get.

Anyway, enough about my moans as there's Beauregard who's just lost her brother flowers and GrandMattie who's keeping her DGD going with custom-made underwear for the little one and Gilly who had her worries and concerns. You tend to think that things only happen to yourself.

Take care and stay safe everyone.xx Keep warm if you're out and about.

A quick good morning from Morecambe Bay. I’ll catch up later. We are off to take the camper for the third time to get its leisure battery fixed, so we are hoping it won’t be foggy on the motorway. This time he’s going to re wire it to override the annoying intermittent fault so he will have it all day. This involves a two car trip to get it there so we have means to get back home. I do hope I can remember how to drive the car Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Safe journey Urmstongran ✈️

Marydoll Fri 27-Nov-20 08:00:00

Good morning all from a cold Glasgow.

Beauregard, sorry to hear your news about your brother. ?
You are one clever lady, Grandmattie, your wee granddaughter and your family will have a long and frustrating journey ahead. flowers
Nortsat, Hazbeen, and * Corner*, hoping that today you feel a little bit better. Life is difficult enough to cope with at the moment, without having to cope with ill health.

DH is golfing, so it will be good to have some time to myself. However, as we are in tier four and I've been discouraged from going anywhere, I'm getting a bit fed up with having no company, apart from DH. It will be like this until the spring at least for me. By that time, I won't want to go out!
However, there is a bonus, I'm resting more. ?
The least bit of physical exercise seems to be exacerbating my angina and breathing, but I have learned to do a little then rest. If you believe that, you will believe anything.
I'm now indulging in guilt free channel hopping, without the feeling that I should be keeping busy!!

We have a Tesco delivery today, it's the delivery which has grown arms and legs, as DD keeps adding items to it. The drivers think I have an alcohol problem, due to the amount of beer ordered by my children! ?
Unfortunately the driver cannot bring it in for me, as I'm too vulnerable, so he will need to put it in the garage, if he can find space! Bringing it in to the house will be my workout for the day!

That is the sum excitement of my day, apart from making soup and trying out my new bargain straighteners, which I managed to get £49 off in the sale. Without straighteners, I look like a scarecrow ?

Yesterday, I altered a knitted dress which was too wide. I tried it on and it was perfect, apart from a huge bulge on one thigh, ? where somehow I missed a bit. I look as if I have a tennis ball down one leg! So its back to the sewing machine, as it's annoying me!!!!!

Urmston I didn't realise you were coming home today. Wishing you a safe journey. You will be relieved to be home and nearer to your daughter.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

ginny Fri 27-Nov-20 07:58:01

Good Morning.
Cold and Misty in N . Bucks but the frost has already gone.

Sorry to hear your sad new Beauregard. ?

Today I will finish preparing a family quiz for tomorrow evening. My turn to be quiz master.
I may write the Christmas cards and a couple of letters
Otherwise bits and bobs and some sewing.
Hope you can all find a ? today.

Lins1066 Fri 27-Nov-20 07:55:28

Good morning Mick and all from a clear, cold and frosty S Welsh coast. I'm so sorry for your loss * Beauregard* ?
All the very best for your granddaughter's operation grandMattie, I didn't post yesterday so I couldn't send my good wishes. I have a U3A Zoom Book Club later and we are exchanging contracts on the sale of my late inlaws property today. Our puppy had a trim at the groomers yesterday, he has been bouncing about like Tigger every since, it is going to be a very long day methinks. I made a huge pot of Spag Bol so supper is sorted and plenty to freeze.
I hope that Cherry had a better night. Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe. Bon Voyage Urm, you'll need to locate your thermals.

Urmstongran Fri 27-Nov-20 07:51:58

? for you Beauregard and my sincere condolences for your loss.

Urmstongran Fri 27-Nov-20 07:48:26

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s dry. I felt like Widow Twankey with all the laundry strewn about yesterday.

My memories of ‘Covid’ will stay with me forever after our experiences of staying in this tiny place.

We are homeward bound - our flight is around 9pm. We prefer an afternoon flight but Mr O’Leary cancelled the one we had booked and paid for and stuck us on this one.

I spoke to my dear neighbour’s family yesterday. They we take up the reins now and facilitate her return to Yorkshire with the necessary support. She cannot continue like this she will make herself ill.

Your sewing skills are pretty amazing grandMattie I hope all goes well for your darling granddaughter when she has her op. Her comment about it was so poignant.

Nortsat who is MrPanache I haven’t noticed anyone of that name?

Hope Friday is good to us all. Excellent to hear of the progress you are making now Elizabeth1 it must give your spirits a lift. Friday always especially reminds me of dear gillybob. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

grandMattie Fri 27-Nov-20 07:41:47

Everyone, her mum has specifically asked for no Velcro.

I had thought of altering sweatpants, but most of her life has been spent in altered clothes to fit her splint, so I was thinking of more glamorous things. I’m able to sew, so would like to accommodate her cage...

Pantglas2 Fri 27-Nov-20 07:39:30

Morning all from a dry north Wales where I’m up enjoying the chamberpot of builders ☕️ while DH is snoring ?!

Sorry for your loss Beauregard ?. I lost a brother many moons ago and still miss him so be kind to yourself over the next few months, these things hit harder than we realise x

Well done with those knickers GrandMattie! Not a sentence often typed ? is it! How lovely that you’re able to help out in tough times for the family!

Plumber arriving here later to fix a leaky joint on the dual fuel towel rail in the bathroom which he fitted beginning of summer. It wasn’t until we switched it from electric use to CH this month that we realised - something to do with hot water circulating?

Will pop in later and read about your doings - wish we could see Friday Girl again.......

NanKate Fri 27-Nov-20 07:35:41

Morning Mick and All.

A cold brightening day here in South Bucks.

Well done grandMattie I think you could have started a new trend with those natty knickers.

Sorry to hear about your brother Beau ?

Are you having a Grand Opening of your new roof Kitty with champagne and nibbles ? Can I come ?

Finishing my latest Jojo Moyes book today. I am absolutely hooked on them. Since buying my Kindle my reading has increased 4 fold. ?

Hope you are feeling better today Mary.

Gingster Fri 27-Nov-20 07:30:51

Good morning from a chilly, frosty Essex. We do t seem to have fog, though.

GM we’ll done with those knicks. How resourceful of you. I agree with Hermia, Velcro would do the trick and nice cosy joggers. Would you be able to adapt them? ?. Would a fleecy onesie do? With a zip on the side? I’m No needlewoman so I might be talking out of my hat .

Ah Beauregard so sorry to hear the sad news of your dB. I remember you saying how worried you were about him. Your little GS will indeed keep you from being too sad. ?. Hope your horse wins. ?.

We watched a Christmas film yesterday afternoon and will watch the sequel today. Christmas Chronicles. Not bad at all. ?.

I’m glad you got your roof done kitty. I bet you can’t wait for rain. Our conservatory has been leaking in places and DH has sealed the edges (temporary job) ?. But we too are waiting for rain to see if it has worked.

Keep up the good work Eluzabeth. Your excercises are paying off. ?.

Keep warm today as it’s not very pleasant out there. ❄️❄️. No slipping over.

Best wishes to all.

Jaxjacky Fri 27-Nov-20 07:29:58

Good morning from a dark, cold, S Hants, no ice though. Beauregard condolences, how sad.
Elizabeth1 good progress, all the hard work paying off.
The downstairs smells of paint, the kitchen paintwork was glossed yesterday, more windows open later. DH is on a half day, so he will start the kitchen tiling this afternoon. I have moved my Christmas cards halfway down the stairs, so they’re progressing!
Have a good day, with hopefully a chink of ?to cheer.

baubles Fri 27-Nov-20 07:28:24

Good morning Mick, morning all. I haven’t a clue what’s happening with the weather here in South Lanarkshire as it’s still dark and I’m yet to peek out.

Great work grandMattie, you are very creative. Elizabeth, good to hear that your hard work is paying off.

Condolences Beauregard flowers

I spoke to my GP yesterday who has prescribed something to help with the dizziness and is referring me back to ENT. I didn’t get out yesterday as I was still too unsteady, perhaps today though.

Christmas shopping is more or less finished and I got a few more cards written yesterday so there’s progress on that front.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. Look after yourselves.

Nortsat Fri 27-Nov-20 07:20:21

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where the sky is lightening...

My Good Morning Thursday post disappeared into the ether and I wasn’t terribly well, so I didn’t redo it. But I read and caught up with everyone else’s ‘doings’.

Your sewing for your DGD looks great Grandmattie, it might be worth trying some Velcro options.
Hope Marydoll had a decent night and MrGrammaretto, MrPanache and Cheery Cherry too.

Have a good day all. ?

cornergran Fri 27-Nov-20 07:15:07

I’m sorry for your loss beauregard. Look after yourself. flowers.

Sar53 Fri 27-Nov-20 07:13:10

Good morning everyone from Essex by the sea where it is cold and misty and there is frost on the cars.
My parcel is now being returned to sender and I will be getting a refund. I have reordered and asked for it to be delivered to a local shop. The only saving grace in this sorry saga is the wonderful customer service I have received from one lovely lady. She rang yesterday whilst I was in Tesco's doing the weekly shop to update me and to apologise. Watch this space.
DH has a few little jobs to do this morning and we will hopefully get out for a bracing walk at some stage.
Love, hugs, smiles and ? to any and all of you xx

cornergran Fri 27-Nov-20 07:12:50

Morning Mick, morning All from a foggy corner of Somerset. Admin for me this morning, delivering a birthday gift this afternoon. Leave on the doorstep, ring the bell and retreat. We’ll be tier 3 next week so no socialising for the foreseeable. Well done Elizabeth, you must be both pleased and relieved. I’d not have a hope of making those creative alterations ‘grandMattie*, the family are lucky to have you. Take care everyone, special thoughts for those with worries of any kind.
