I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Doodle I do hope that the pain is controlled sufficiently so that he can be discharged but if morphine is the drug which alleviates the pain- so be it.

Pain is only present Monday- Friday 8 am- 5 pm didn't yer know? I assume the medical staff do not want to interfere. Before he is discharged please make sure there is a plan B if the pain worsens because he through necessity will have to do more for himself at home. I am assuming your flat has no stairs which makes it marginally easier. Enjoy your rest.

Evening All, still no soop? I’m sure she’s coping with the lack of internet with aplomb. Me? I’d be kicking something, hard.

That’s bad luck doodle, had hoped your husband would escape today. The best of luck for a Monday release.

We ventured out for a beach walk today, circled back along a shopping street, goodness, so many people in shops without a mask. Surely not all are exempt? Overall a decent day. Wishing you all the same for tomorrow, take care.

Doodle Sat 19-Dec-20 20:50:03

Thanks Jaxjacky
I haven’t watched Knives out yet. Might give it a try soon.

Pittcity Sat 19-Dec-20 20:45:04

I loved Knives Out Jax.

Jaxjacky Sat 19-Dec-20 20:21:34

Doodle fingers crossed for Monday.
Oh, that was a bit rude, good evening all, hope I find you well, we’re not Strictly watchers, been watching a film Knives Out, I’ve seen Daniel Craig in a new light, less flattering than Bond, but I wouldn’t kick..oops, calm down.

Doodle Sat 19-Dec-20 19:53:28

Thanks Puzzler and Laura
Yes my thoughts too GrannyS but it often seems the case that certain staff don’t work weekends,
Urms I’m in tier 4. I haven’t found out what it means yet but I wasn’t doing much anyway.
Take care all

GrannySomerset Sat 19-Dec-20 19:49:30

How can the pain management team not work at weekends? Agony knows no dates! It seems absurd.

LauraNorder Sat 19-Dec-20 19:45:33

Fingers crossed for Monday Doodle ?

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Dec-20 19:37:43

Oh sorry Doodle,
MrDoodle is not quite ready yet and it will be better to get the pain relief correct before discharging him. A disappointment all the same. ? He will be home before you know it.

Urmstongran Sat 19-Dec-20 19:31:24

Evening all (ooh that reminded me of Dixon of Dock Green there!). Just getting my head around the latest government restrictions for Christmas. It must be especially hard for all those who live in the new T4 area.

I bet you’re all busy watching the Strictly final tonight.
?

Anyway I hope Saturday night is a peaceful one for all. It’s a strange time we’re living in and I think there will be many sad and emotional people right now. x

Doodle Sat 19-Dec-20 19:04:45

Puzzler thanks for asking after DH. I was hoping to have him home today but unfortunately after they took him off the morphine pump, the pain came back. The pain management team don’t work weekends so I’m not sure if he’ll be out before Monday at the earliest.
charleygirl any luck with Tara today, or is her ladyship still turning her nose up at your offerings?

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Dec-20 16:21:42

Good afternoon, just popping in to see if soop has by any chance been reconnected with us but it seems not.
Baggs please be so kind as to pass on my good wishes to soop if you are in touch.
Is your DH home Doodle ? I hope so, and that he is feeling more comfortable.
Urmstongran it’s good to hear the nasty ear complaint is easing. It is like toothache, the pain makes you feel just ghastly.
I have to take in the new guidelines from BJ, so will hasten away as he has started his briefing on TV.
TOYA.

Charleygirl5 Sat 19-Dec-20 16:21:18

I may be speaking for myself but I doubt it. I am addicted to the internet.

At this rate soop will be looking for a new kitchen because we will have moved, without the food and alcohol which will be long gone- a distant memory.

dragonfly46 Sat 19-Dec-20 13:09:22

NannyTopsy so sad for you DD especially with Christmas looming. I hope she feels better soon although it is hard to imagine.

I would willingly forgo alcohol for 3 days if it meant I could hug my DGC again. It is a year since I saw them and the littlest has started to talk in that time. It is not enough to have a conversation on the phone, however, and I doubt he knows who I am as he is not good on Zoom!

Really hoping soop is back soon. I would rather the car didn't start than the internet go down!

Galen Sat 19-Dec-20 13:03:51

Anno that’s the advice to Russians after their vaccine.
Is that what you’re having?

Baggs Sat 19-Dec-20 09:25:52

GrannyGravy13

Baggs please don’t tell her that her lovely gentle kitchen is becoming more like the Argy every day she is away ????

?

Charleygirl5 Fri 18-Dec-20 22:43:07

Doodle it is the menu which is not up to scratch. The kitchen staff can't find anything she likes!

annodomini Fri 18-Dec-20 22:14:17

Is that the weakest excuse ever in the history of medicine?
Yes, it is, Ann60, but after the year you've had, I suppose we can make alllowances. tchgrin

Nannytopsy Fri 18-Dec-20 21:48:09

Gin please! Here’s the tonic.
DD is back home already after surgery to removed her ectopic pregnancy. She was well looked after and repeatedly tested for Covid! Not the run up to Christmas anyone would want.
Sleep tight everyone - the gin should help!

Doodle Fri 18-Dec-20 21:32:11

Welcome jaxjacky thank you for asking after DH. He is on the mend now. Be careful with your snow boots. I had a pair I wore for a couple of years then put them away for a year or so. I got them out when we had some snow and while I was walking in them the sole fell off. The rubber had perished. I had to limp home with a very cold wet foot,
Charleygirl visiting is once every 3 days. Better than nothing but so hard for many whose loved ones are in hospital a long time. At least DH and I can phone and text. We are hoping he will be home this weekend.
Tara is reluctant to take he medicine I see. Trouble is you can’t make her understand it’s for her own good. Will she eat her food without medicine in or has she gone off eating altogether?
greyduster nice to see you back. Thank you for the mince pies. They look lovely.
Laura where are you getting all this Sherry and gin from? If you are pinching it for the Argy cellar, lemon will find out ?
Flora so sorry to hear about your MIL. I sympathise with not being able to visit. Hope she is ok.
Oh no Baggs poor soop . If it wasn’t for COVID we could get up a coach party to go and visit her. I hope she’s back with us soon.
Urms sorry to hear you’ve been in pain like that. Sounds as though things are improving though. Hope you feel better soon.
ann no alcohol for 3 days after vaccine......oh dear. ?
Have a peaceful night all
TOYA?

MawBe Fri 18-Dec-20 21:30:55

I have just watched a magical live performance of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s “Nutcracker” streamed from the REP.
It brought back such happy memories of eldest grandson dancing one of the children in the Christmas Season of 2018 when I was the proudest granny ever.
Let Christmas commence!

annsixty Fri 18-Dec-20 21:01:43

I have decided that if offered the vaccine in the next few days I will ask for a delay.
I have read that you should not take alcohol for 3 days after the vaccine, what with Christmas looming??

Is that the weakest excuse ever in the history of medicine?

Urmstongran Fri 18-Dec-20 20:29:26

Evening to all you lovely kitcheners. This is the best place to be on here. I’ve had a couple of awful days with earache and throat pain (one side only) and after 4 weeks it was really making me feel quite low.

Anyhoo ... today has been a much better day and I’m feeling grateful and more relaxed. Only needed 2 ibuprofen all day. That’s a first!

Loving all your stories although of course I’m sorry to hear about your mother in law Flora.

I shall sit quietly in the corner. No gin or sherry for me just yet as my head has been spinning enough from the earache these past few days! I’ve got my fingers crossed for a Christmas tipple though next week.

brook2704 Fri 18-Dec-20 19:39:07

Hope you get a better day tomorrow Flora sorry to hear about your MiL, hope she recovers soon
And your DD manages ok with the isolation and looking after the children on her own - so difficult when you’d love to help but you can’t

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Dec-20 19:27:42

Flora5 thanks
