I am also envious of grans doing child care - it's not fair!!!

We have now more or less recovered from the excitement of DS1 being taken to hospital by ambulance in a really sorry state. The paramedics were fantastic (we had gone to his flat to let them in) but did say it might well be Covid. 2 tests proved it wasn't and he is now home again with strong ABs for his really bad chest infection.

Our NHS is fabulous!! And, I have nearly recovered!

Grandmabatty and Susan it’s hard work with toddlers especially boys!I had three sons and four grandsons youngest is now 6 so I know how tiring it can be,hope you get a good rest soon.

Good afternoon everyone. Lots going on in here and some smashing photographs.
There seems to be a lot to do around here since DH is not allowed out to Golf. He likes an assistant when he’s doing things if you know what I mean.
It takes my mind off what I’m doing and this morning it’s resulted in milk boiling over onto the glass hob - what a smelly job to clean it off. The milk almost turned to curd - burnt curd!
It’s mild and sunny and just the afternoon to get outside for some garden tidying so it’s “I ho, I ho, off to the potting shed I go”.
Take it easy soop and kitcheners, especially those looking after little ones.

Grandmabatty, no nap days are the worst!I had two girls then our first grandchild was a girl.I’m finding the boys are very loving but more tiring to look after?

Susan I fully understand your tiredness! Henry looks like a lovely, mischievous toddler, not unlike one not a million miles away from me at the moment! Yesterday he would not nap despite being tired but he was out of his routine and hadn't been at my house over Christmas and New year. Today he has just asked to go for a nap. I'm hearing no noises so fingers crossed. I love having him but he's hard work when it's a long time since I've had a toddler. It's a beautiful winter's day here. Once dgs is up and has had lunch we'll go out. Have a good day all.

Childcare today.We were up at 4.45 so feel like I have done a days work already?

I am going to go for my daily exercise in a minute in the hope it wakes me up.

Half way through my antibiotics and while not feeling 100% am definitely starting to feel better.

Susan I remember when that gorgeous little minx was a tiny baby! At least he is keeping yourself and DH on your toes- who needs sleeping tablets with a fellow like that running around all day. Luckily you have eyes in the back of your head! I love his outfit.

Another late post. I have finished the first third of DGD’s blanket tonight but her birthday is at the end of March. I may have to take up daytime knitting as well as evening shifts. It is knitted three squares wide the the three panels are sewn together. Much easier than lots of squares!

Thanks Doodle apart from the fact it will not be happening for months. Even if I wanted to, CPL is not inspecting homes (they would not stay in this one for long- they would be running out shrieking) because of COVID.

charley I understand what you are saying about having another cat from the CPL. I know getting a new pet does not take away the hurt and sorrow of losing one but you are so caring any cat would benefit from being with you and it might go some way to healing that Tara shaped hole in your heart.

Baggs . That doesn’t sound like you at all. I have watched many of those Netflix series. I have taken to avoiding things that upset me or are too close to home. With the virus and everything else going on., I wish they would show The Woodentops or Andy Pandy, I would happily sit and watch those.
Grandmafrench thanks for letting us know about Izabella I have been wondering how she is. Sorry to hear of all the sadness she has had recently. I hope her nephew is ok.

Just popping on to say goodnight to all you lovely people. Another early night for me - I've been yawning since about 4pm!!

Oh soop you made me laugh with your cursing one particular workman story. Suffice to say that the civil engineer and his head builder are calling in tomorrow (Portuguese tomorrow, it’s already been postponed twice) to check on why our non leaking flat roof is somehow still having leaks. Add that to the fact that the house is somehow built on the biggest anthill in Portugal and I have been known to have the odd wobbly myself.
I am the proud possessor of a new passport photograph. The result is nowhere near as elegant as Galen’s but was done with a lot of care and careful distancing. It made me wish I’d taken more care with my makeup but what the heck, I’ve only ever thought one passport photo has ever looked anything like me yet the passport control officers have never had a problem recognising me.

So that's what happened soop. You should ask BT for a refund or reduction of your payments. We got a refund from Orange.
I've got an appt. for a covid vaccination on Wednesday - let you know what it was like later. If I'm still in one piece!

Synonymous Joy unbounded indeed! I could tell you a few hair raising stories regarding jobs done around our home (during the build) that turned out to be less than satisfactory.. Every so often I have a wobbly and curse one particular work man. Mr Soop listens to my foul language. That in itself helps somewhat. Suffice to say that he won't be invited to do further work for us.

Susan I've missed you. Sorry to hear that you too have been dealing with tough times. I know how rotten the UTIs can make you feel. I'm hoping that the antibiotics bring you speedy relief.

Izabella if you are reading, I wish you well and so sorry to hear of the demise of your Eventer. Horses like all animals bring so much joy and take a little of our heart with them. We still miss our little Arab Mare 13 years down the line.
