Morning everyone how many cups of tea do you have a day.

EllanVannin Tue 22-Dec-20 09:18:26

That strong cup of tea first thing is the best antioxident that there is to start off the day. I swear it's kept me going for years.
Then a couple more after meals with coffee in between and a hot choc. after my morning crumpets. About 3 cups of tea a day on average.

glammanana Tue 22-Dec-20 09:36:03

One brew first thing in the morning then coffee until DD visits at t-time when we will have another brew whilst chatting, hot chocolate about 9pm.

dragonfly46 Tue 22-Dec-20 09:40:19

1 green tea, 1 peppermint and 1coffee.

henetha Tue 22-Dec-20 09:43:43

3 usually. Ocassionally 4. And hot chocolate, coffee etc.
I can't start my day without a cup of tea....and a toasted crumpet.

NannyJan53 Tue 22-Dec-20 09:43:44

None.... since I was pregnant over 45 years ago and it made me sick. Never gone back to it

I drink about 2-3 cups of coffee a day.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 22-Dec-20 09:44:28

Seven or eight, I can't live without tea. Very milky please - it's more a case of 'would you like some tea with your milk?' Can't imagine life without it.
Purists wouldn't be happy with this but I buy one of those big sacks of tea bags when they're on offer.

annsixty Tue 22-Dec-20 09:47:09

When my H was alive we would drink about 8 every day, it broke up our very long days indoors and gave us some structure.
Now I have two first thing, one mid morning and maybe 2 more.
One coffee only, I like it but I feel my reflux is worse when I have any more.

I think that this is a point raised by someone else that we might be running out of topics. We certainly are if this is for us t discuss. Can’t see that this will incite much enthusiasm. I usually really look forward to seeing the different ideas and opinions on varied subjects but not this.

Blossoming Tue 22-Dec-20 09:50:42

The number of times I visit the loo depends on how many cups of tea I drink Charleygirl wink

Maggiemaybe Tue 22-Dec-20 09:54:24

To be honest, Pippa, I commented because this seemed about the only topic on GN these days that we’d be allowed to discuss without somebody moaning or complaining about it.

I guess I was wrong.

WishIwasyounger Tue 22-Dec-20 09:58:26

About six plus one coffee in the morning. In the evening I drink decaffeinated tea as I can't sleep otherwise.

NotAGran55 Tue 22-Dec-20 10:02:06

None ?

Luckygirl Tue 22-Dec-20 10:04:01

No caffeine here, or I pee for England and shake like a leaf.

Peppermint tea about 3x per day.

hollysteers Tue 22-Dec-20 10:34:52

About 5 and I notice that I am turning into my mother, who didn’t want a huge mug, but just a smaller drink of tea.
Tea and coffee at home, but only coffee when out and about or on holiday (looking forward to that sometime...) as coffee is pretty standardised and tea is harder to taste just as I like, builders, brown sugar and and a smidgeon of manuka honey.

Puzzler61 Tue 22-Dec-20 10:37:13

1 and it’s always mint tea.

annsixty Tue 22-Dec-20 10:40:55

And while I am not fussy enough to object to a mug, it has to be a China one.

Maggiemaybe Tue 22-Dec-20 10:43:30

Do you make your own mint tea, Puzzler? Whenever I have the proper stuff when we’re out and about (I’m talking pre 2020 naturally!), I mean to give it a go, then never get round to it.

timetogo2016 Tue 22-Dec-20 10:47:46

8-10.
3 first thing in the morning i can`t stand coffee.

Puzzler61 Tue 22-Dec-20 11:00:08

No Maggie. I’m addicted to Pukka Three Mint, it’s got spearmint as well as peppermint and I love it.
I have had homemade and it is very nice.

JessK Tue 22-Dec-20 11:03:00

Usually four cups a day and then of an evening I'm on fruit tea as it's free of caffeine.

Alishka Tue 22-Dec-20 11:23:29

First off, Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea, tea time a pot of Yorkshire tea, all the gin/white/red wine as appropriate - and when isn't it? - in between, plus Proper Coffee made in my now vintage(!)Swan Brand percolator. Memories of writing dissertations to the gentle pop-pop sound as the percolated coffee hits the bubble in the lid.
Love my tea, love my coffee, and the other stuff's good too.
Keep hydrated everyone!

annsixty Tue 22-Dec-20 11:30:10

Alishka is your vintage Swan percolator a “manual” one which you put on top of the stove.
I have one of those with the matching teapot, cream and sugar and a tray.
They were a leaving gift to my H from his colleagues when he changed jobs in 1966.

LadyGracie Tue 22-Dec-20 11:31:09

4 mugs and 1 mug of coffee

Alishka Tue 22-Dec-20 11:35:17

annsixty, yes it is, yours got a black handle? And deffo a 60s model.smile

annsixty Tue 22-Dec-20 11:53:34

No Alishka my set is stainless steel.
We do look after our things don’t we?
They will all go in a skip when I die but I’m hanging on to them until then.
