I bought Mindfulness and Meditation, with uplifting monthly quotes.

"Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it.
What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside."

I've got a huge one with Henry Cavill, it's absolutely marvellous

RSPB - a Christmas present from one of the grandchildren.

Soozikinzi Thu 31-Dec-20 15:51:24

I’ve got two a Jack Vettriano and an impressionist painting one and I use my phone as well ! Just hope there’s some stuff to put on them this year !

Bellasnana Thu 31-Dec-20 15:00:38

Mine is from the local Dog Sanctuary.

I realised I’m a dinosaur when I bought a second one for DD3 and she said ‘no thanks Mum, I don’t use them’. I like to have one hanging in the kitchen next to the landline, another piece of equipment that is becoming obsolete.?

We make and print our own, With all relevant birthdays ans events added. An additional gift for AC . This year it had a lockdown theme .

EllanVannin Thu 31-Dec-20 14:06:09

A large numbered one with a writing block and free pen grin
It's kept in the back kitchen and the first thing I do is transfer all the Birthdays throughout the year then throw the old one in the bin.

I too have the free one from Gardener's World which hangs on the inside of the larder door. Last year's one was hardly used after March and I am so annoyed that I splashed out on a lovely Dairy Diary for 2020, now sitting pristine on my bedside table......

lemongrove Thu 31-Dec-20 13:53:12

We have the Countryfile one ( wall calendar) in the study and a desk type diary next to the phone to check every day.Not that there is much happening to record!

I got given two Cat Yoga ones, but got a Waterstones credit for the extra one, we also had the same idea and bought Cat Yoga calendars for a couple of people we know. Great minds think alike, shame we are all catless sad particularly as the species excel at yoga, I know I'm never going to get my legs behind my ears sad never mind can do "cat and cow" and even a "downward facing dog"! but that's about my limit grin

Witzend Thu 31-Dec-20 12:49:07

None as yet - I shall have to go and buy one.
Phone reminders are all very well, but I still like one in the kitchen - a quick glance for upcoming birthdays etc.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 31-Dec-20 11:36:31

Got one sent from guide dogs for the blind, that's all so far!!

Calendargirl Thu 31-Dec-20 11:34:33

Our local garage supplies a very sensible free wall one, clear figures and space to write appointments.

Pittcity Thu 31-Dec-20 11:33:34

Haven't got one for 2021. Only use one to hide a defect on the kitchen wall, but we're moving soon!!
We use our phones as we can easily see what the family has planned.
I did buy one produced to benefit our local zoo as Christmas gifts.

henetha Thu 31-Dec-20 10:20:16

I've got a couple of little charity ones which were sent to me.
But for my main one in the kitchen I bought a Hillside
Animal Sanctuary one which is a marvellous animal charity.
I also keep a diary in my handbag, but it's not been used much this year... sadly.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 31-Dec-20 10:14:29

I usually hang a long slim-line calendar by the phone in the sitting room and a larger one in the kitchen but this year I've been super mean and have 'butchered' a couple of old ones instead. The old ones are too good to throw away. I used scrap paper to cover the old details and can still enjoy the beautiful pictures. They don't look as elegant as the originals but serve a purpose and who else is going to look at them so closely? If any rude comments are made I'll say that I'm on an economy drive. After all, I'm not a millionaire - yet.

I have a free one from our local Chinese but will also buy a dog one. I know I will take great pleasure in ripping the 2020 one to absolute shreds tomorrow!

Niobe Thu 31-Dec-20 10:01:04

Like aggie I get the Gardener’s World one. Comes free with the December issue and I’ve noticed that it sells out fairly quickly so I look out for it. Hangs on the side of my fridge freezer.
I also have a pink leather mini Filofax that I found in a charity shop and each year I buy a diary insert. I find that very useful to keep in my handbag.

I always buy a Year planner around August /September , but also get as a Xmas present at least 2 calendars,
The Countryfile and a cycling related one , this year also received one from the Sausage Man based in Kent who do German foods and beers , plus also I got given another from the local Chinese Take away this year.

I’m waiting to pick up my copy of the family calendar. I’ll probably get it about July.
I work to an appointment system so I always jot important things down in my appointment book. Now I haven’t got any appointments I will have to have a rethink.
Oh no I won’t, I’m not doing anything am I?

MawBe Thu 31-Dec-20 09:20:14

Whitewavemark2

I’ve pencilled in a cottage holiday at the end of March, and July as well as holiday to Sardinia in September ??????

I’ve also pencilled in some rescheduled theatre dates beginning in April

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it could all take place?

You might be a little premature WWMk2 unless you are a lot older than I thought. But ??

Puzzler61 Thu 31-Dec-20 09:18:36

Oh and a black cat little calendar sent from a cousin in bonnie Scotland for Good Luck. ?‍⬛ ?

Puzzler61 Thu 31-Dec-20 09:17:15

The Whiska’s Cat planner calendar, as usual, in the kitchen.
Plus: a Countryfile one (proceeds go to Children in Need so we always buy one), a Jo Grundy calendar as I love her art, and DH has a Golf one from his club.

MamaCaz Thu 31-Dec-20 09:13:21

I ordered the only Family calendar (the type with several columns in which to write different family members' appointments) available with my Tesco online shop.

It happened to be 'Forever Friends', which wouldn't have been my first choice, but would do the job, and OH was adamant that we needed one asap., so it went in my virtual basket.

Anyway, when the delivery came yesterday, it had been substituted with a 'Guess How Much I Love You' calendar, which I think is very cute and will do the job just as well. smile

Humbertbear Thu 31-Dec-20 09:12:11

We all use electronic diaries on our phones and share appointments across them. However, my DiL always produces a calendar with photos of the GC which we hang in the kitchen and I always produce one with 12 of my paintings on. Presumably, eventually, printed calendars will become obsolete but I think people still like the pictures to hang on their walls. Friends tell me they use my calendar for specific dates - one is a magistrate and uses it to record her court dates.

Gc little pressie was Isles of Scilly calendar. Had last years too. I look at the lovely photos and have good memories of past visits and hopefully future ones.
