Which would you choose?

Carbohydrate that is.
If you could only eat one carb (you are allowed other food groups) which would it be?

Pasta, Potatoes, Rice or Bread?

I'd choose potatoes. I think I could live on potatoes and cheese.

It’s difficult. I tried unsuccessfully to make a BLT between two slices of potato, but equally, chilli on a slice of bread is unacceptable.

This thread has got me thinking...
What is pastry? Is it a carbohydrate, I'm pretty sure that it is, but is it technically a type of bread? Or is it more similar to pasta? confused

Bread in all its shapes, colours and textures but not cheap white sliced. Sourdough my favourite.

I have to go for bread as I don’t eat any of the others due to Diabetes - and I only eat a small amount of low carb bread.

Potatoes

I always think if I was marooned on a desert island I'd like a source of fresh water, a fishing net and a sack of potatoes (plus some good soil and a spade).

Bread for me, proper bread not the sliced sort. In fact I would have been quite happy with the bread and water rations dished out as a punishment in Victorian prisons!

I don't eat much bread so my choice is potatoes.

Potatoes definitely for me. Baked,boiled, mashed, roasted, chips, tattie scones....
Great even with minimal accompaniments; butter, cheese, coleslaw, cold meat, beans, tuna, eggs....
I think pasta, rice and bread would almost always have a fairly similar texture and appearance no matter what you did to them!

Rice for me. Due to IBS I’ve had to practically stop eating potatoes, can’t eat wheat, so I already eat a lot of rice.

Spuds, I am afraid. My DH, who is Indian, loves rice but I can't share his enthusiasm. It's OK but unexciting, even when jazzed up in pilatus and biriyanis.

Not a big fan of bread. It's too filling. Like hot baguette with butter once in a while. Love curry and homemade vegetable rice with potato chunks and coriander. Potatoes are nice too. Love cottage pie.

The Irish peasantry lived fairly successfuy on a diet of potates, kale and dairyprducts if theyhad a cow, and soda bread if theycould afford flour, up until the potato blight in 1845 when thousands died of famine. I would choose potatoes and cheese!

Those of you who bloat after bread may just be gluten intolerant which I am. Potatoes would be my first choice with gluten free pasta second.

Definitely bread. Loads of different types of bread now and I couldn't do without my toast. Also being from N.Ireland I adore pancakes, soda bread, potato bread, oh oh prob not allowed it cause it's using two carbs!
