I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

Was the photo taken against the black background Lisagran? It really enhances the shape of the flowers.

Yes, against my black toaster grin. I’d seen photos like this on Instagram and wanted to try it, so got a piece of black card from Hobbycraft, but the pics worked better with the toaster as background!

JackyB, I love that card!

A baby blackbird. His mum was around so he wasn’t too worried.

Greyduster Sat 15-May-21 12:51:38

Aha! Looks like we’re back in business!

Cat's whisker pansies.

Ellianne Sun 16-May-21 18:13:55

A cute character wanted a stroke today.

I've never seen those pansies before but then I'm not a gardener. Did you grow them yourself or are they bought in. They are lovely and they do look like cats whiskers ha ha

Parsley3 Sun 16-May-21 18:24:29

I bought them in Morrisons May. I love pansies but these are new to me too. They have a lovely fragrance.

A very damp Mevagissey harbour yesterday. Memory Lane for me, many childhood family holidays in the area.

Hellogirl1 Sun 16-May-21 19:33:33

Oooh Corner, memories for me there, we used to love going to Mevagissey, we`ve spent many an hour around the harbour.

We had a break in Torbay. This is a view from Bayard's Cove Fort at Dartmouth.

The river Ribble looking dour today. I hope Belisama isn’t angry.

Squirrels here too kate. I love watching them. These were outside the front door this morning. Not so good at posing though smile.

A visit to a favourite coffee stop last week, the first since way back last year. It was before indoor seating was allowed, the view was lovely but it was jolly chilly out there!

Ellianne Wed 19-May-21 07:21:37

That really is a 1000 words picture grannyqueenie.

cornergran Wed 19-May-21 07:54:20

This morning from the bedroom window. We’ll miss the peace here when we get back home.

Ellianne Wed 19-May-21 08:16:47

Take loads of photos cornergran that's what holiday memories are made of.

Ellianne Wed 19-May-21 08:19:23

I'm thinking there should be an exclusive holiday photo thread here on GN over the coming months to cheer us up and to show everyone how beautiful the UK is!

Visiting the south coast to spend time with our son and his family, after the longest ever period of not seeing them. Today’s blues skies were a lovely bonus!
