I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

I’ve been enjoying all the images but haven’t had any to share. These two are at each end of our tiny garden. Don’t be fooled by the blue sky, there’s an icy wind today.

My little plum tree has started to blossom it’s head off as usual, but we are lucky to get about half a dozen plums off it - last year it was two! We love it anyway!

Yes, thanks Lisa, I did. I’ve made a note. We bought a lot of bulbs at Harrogate - I can’t remember what any of them are now?. I’m just grateful if they come up every year! I like the collage - I must learn to do that.

Spring in the garden

Lovely pics of goldfinches, Greyduster. Did you see that I thought your daffs were Mondragon?

Greyduster Thu 01-Apr-21 18:47:42

Goldfinches feeding on spent lavender heads. I wonder if their breath smells nice?

That picture must mean more than 1000 words to you nanna8. Photos of your new cat would be brilliant.

I wish we had a "like" button for all the lovely photos. It has meant a lot to see them over the past year.

Big day for us today, we will probably get a new cat. I have been missing our old cat so much and 6 months later, it is time. Going to the local rescue centre to find someone. I know it is silly but my whole life I have never been without one until now. Cat lovers will ‘get’ it. That’s our old boy who walked in off the street and stayed with us for 20 years.

On today's walk. Where's our lunch?

Bellanonna Tue 30-Mar-21 22:19:18

This is such a lovely thread. Thank you everyone.

A small tortoiseshell living it up on my rockery.

A woodland walk tonight

Ellianne Tue 30-Mar-21 08:29:15

Thanks nanna8.

A bit similar to hedgehogs to look at but they actually lay ? eggs. They eat insects , especially ants. They can get quite big. They tuck their heads in when they are scared.

Ellianne Tue 30-Mar-21 07:45:57

Are they like hedgehogs nanna?

Lisagran Tue 30-Mar-21 07:29:23

‘Mondragon’, Greyduster?

Greyduster Mon 29-Mar-21 23:06:31

Sorry folks, I wish I could remember.

Daffodil envy! ?

nanna8 Mon 29-Mar-21 22:58:24

A little visitor to our beach house this weekend. I love these little echidnas, don’t see them that often.

Aldom Mon 29-Mar-21 22:45:59

Thank you for the name of the daffodils. I shall have to order some in readiness for next spring.

Lisagran Mon 29-Mar-21 22:37:03

Are they ‘Mondragon’, Greyduster?

Greyduster Mon 29-Mar-21 20:53:27

I think they were some I bought at the Harrogate flower show - I wish I could remember what they were called as I would like some more - they are very jolly!

Aldom Mon 29-Mar-21 20:19:48

'Greyduster* What unusual and beautiful daffodils.

Lisagran Mon 29-Mar-21 17:57:14
