I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

Buscot Park, Oxfordshire

This is not my photo, my son in law took it, but I thought it is a very ‘painterly’ sky. The lady in the foreground is DD. I didn’t have the heart to photoshop her out!

My birthday flowers

Greyduster

This plant is an awful thug but the bees love it so much I don’t have the heart to pull it out!

Is that Sea Holly Greyduster. I like it because it’s blue flowers of which I am fond of.

Greyduster Thu 26-Aug-21 15:34:45

It’s sea holly eryngium planum, yes, Beechnut, but not the eryngium alpinum which has bigger, much more arresting flowers. We’ve had a little cull and now it knows it’s place!

My favourite flower in the garden.

Ah, so that's what aerials are for! Must be lunchtime! That was before the rest of the flock arrived! The din they make is unbelievable.

At Castle Kennedy Gardens I saw this tree. Anyone remember The Addams Family, Cousin Itt.

MiniMoon Sun 05-Sept-21 20:40:26

I posted this earlier but I couldn't find a way to add it to the active discussions.
So here are some very tall lilies.

MiniMoon Tue 07-Sept-21 18:56:04

Have we filled up this thread? Do we need to start a new one?

MiniMoon Tue 07-Sept-21 18:58:12

Well, isn't that funny. A couple of days ago I couldn't get this thread on the active list. Lo and behold it worked today.

frankiemf Tue 07-Sept-21 20:04:38

I think we can keep going to 1000 posts MiniMoon, before we need a new thread. It will be good to see some autumn colour photos soon, not that we want to wish September away.

A last burst of colour at our local RHS gardens last week

Cobweb season. It amazes me how quickly they appear. Love them - as long as they stay outside smile.

Jelly fish

Beechnut Thu 09-Sept-21 06:56:50

Ahhh cobwebs. Not nice to walk into but so beautiful when twinkling with rain drops.

Josianne Fri 10-Sept-21 14:31:51

I'm growing up (14 weeks), and bringing golden rays to cloudy grey days.
Don't be fooled by the shut eyes!

Norwegian fjord ... Stavanger.

Aldom Sun 12-Sept-21 23:13:53

I enjoyed visiting the Open Gardens in an Oxfordshire village today.

grannyqueenie Wed 15-Sept-21 07:59:25

Lovely to find a wild spot amongst the formal gardens at Drummond Castle. Lots of bare bottoms too!

Josianne Wed 15-Sept-21 10:26:29

Season of mists and pure gold.

I love autumnal walks
