I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

First lambs of the year...spring ?.
Sorry for poor quality picture!

The sun is shining here, making life feel brighter ?

Nothing in bloom yet in my garden

polomint Thu 18-Feb-21 11:01:40

A memory from August 2019. Vienna I wonder when we will be able to get back on holiday

Those were the days......

I cut some forsythia from a neighbourhood shrub. Blooming beautifully after a week in a vase. It's so nice to have a glimps of spring, we are having a cold snap here.

Ooh some very lovely photographs and clever collages. Beyond me I am afraid. I love your pond grandmajet, always wanted a pond ...with frogs.
One year ago today we were on our way home from holiday in the Dominican Republic, discussing plans to return the following year as we had such an amazing time.
Today I would be over the moon just to go to a gym class let alone one on a beautiful sunny beach.

Some blossom from last Spring. It will soon be here again.

Clever Lisagran, and wonderful grebe photos Greyduster, beautiful signs of spring Ellianne. I’ve just learned to post a single photo and am pleased with myself!
Looking forward to this on our tiny pond later this year.

Greyduster Wed 17-Feb-21 10:24:19

The grebe is my favourite water bird, but as soon as you zoom in on then they disappear under the water! Patience paid off yesterday, but the disappearing backside (photgraphed last year) is what I usually get!

Lisagran Wed 17-Feb-21 10:22:23

Good to just play with the images I guess. Sometimes contrast is good. These are all the colours there are in the garden just now!

Ellianne Wed 17-Feb-21 10:19:54

I must attempt collage images Lisa. Is it best to stick to one theme/colour?

Hurry up spring.

Lisagran Wed 17-Feb-21 10:11:02

Spring starting in the garden

Greyduster Wed 17-Feb-21 10:09:40

Ooh, they’re lovely! Lucky you!

Lovely to see some new contributors, thank you for your photos. Anything goes here - nature, memories, creative works etc. (Just as long as they're your own 1000 words.)

Yes, warmth is still around us in its own way.

Happyme Tue 16-Feb-21 18:44:17

Just found this lovely thread ?. Posted this, taken during last May's lockdown, to remind me that the sunshine and warmth will return....soon.

My last beach walk with Mya (dog) just before the first lockdown. Porth beach, Cornwall. It was more for me than her. She hates the water but likes to meet other dogs. It was so quiet. Don't think there were more than half a dozen people on the beach that day - 12 March 2020.

Ellianne what a beautiful thread. First time I've seen it. Agree the nature ones are lovely.

Namsnanny I do love a moss wall or stone. I took this photo on my walk through the Japanese Garden near Cornwall's Newquay Airport last September. It's about 20 min drive away. Hope to do something like it in our new garden this year.

Great picture Greyduster. Sparrow hawks come to our garden too, and once took a blue tit off the peanut feeder. ?

Greyduster Tue 16-Feb-21 18:10:02

Guess who came to dinner! He didn’t get any though - they had all scarpered! I wanted a full frontal but he wasn’t inclined to oblige!

Spotted growing wild on our walk today.

Play spot the difference. The beach last week, the beach this week. Half term has brought the children out, and I for one am all for giving them some fun.

Oops sorry polomint.. got your name wrong, clearly distracted by the thought of tablet!

grannyqueenie Sun 14-Feb-21 17:41:32

Oh I love tablet polmont, in fact I love it so much I only make it as Christmas. I can’t be trusted not to scoff the lot! ?
