Does anyone else just stay in their pajamas if you're not going out

Wow. How many different views there are on this! I always get dressed when I get up in the morning - varies on time depending on whether I read with my coffee in bed or just have the coffee and then get up. I always get dressed - usually in jeans or jeggins and warm tops in this weather as our house isn’t that warm. I tried a bra free day the other day - but felt cold all day! In the evening I love a warm bath and then pjs and dressing gown plus lovely warm throw to watch a bit of tv. Stay warm and comfy everyone. Xx

The phrase that came to my mind when I read the thread title was....that way perdition lies! Even in my seventies I can still here my father telling me to ...put some clothes on before you come downstairs!

Lucretzia chronic pain is very difficult and depressing to live with. We need to think before we say things, or even think them.

I so want to spend all day in my pjs but whenever I try I can't cope and have to get washed and dressed and put make up on. I never go out and there's only OH to see me but I just feel uncomfortable otherwise. I sleep naked and put my pjs on when I get up (with clean knickers - couldn't think of wearing pjs without) have breakfast and clean up then get showered and dressed. More often than not during the winter I put them back on again about 7 as they're warmer than jeans.

I was brought up to wash/shower and dress as soon as I got up in the morning. I feel really uncomfortable if I remain in my nightie and dressing gown for very long. I can hear my mother's voice saying "why aren't you dressed?"
I don't like pyjamas, I think it's the way the trousers wrap around my legs in bed.

Genuine curiosity. If you sleep naked and without make up when presumably your husband sees you why do you put make up on during the day if only your husband sees you?

I’m so sorry if I upset you Lucretzia, I honestly didn’t mean to, I was just commenting on how this post has revealed how different we all are. I didn’t know about your chronic pain, I meant it only in the sense of how we all have different preferences, and how interesting it is to hear about what other people do, I didn’t think I was being judgemental but if that’s how you read it I apologise.

No. Now I'm working from home, I don't rush to dress in the morning but am always dressed by 10am. I find that keeping some sort of a routine helps my mental health. I then look forward to putting my dressing gown on a the end of the day.

I might buy some eye makeup for the day I have my jab.

I like to be up and showered by 9.00 then a walk. I always wear the same thing,loose joggers top and warm sweater ankle boots or trainers.I have this uniform in several colours. Unfortunately, by wearing the loose pants through lockdown I no longer fit any of my nice trousers .

Braless and in a onesie all day - absolutely fab. DH the same. If I go outside to feed the birds - who cares if the neighbours see me!

Like Willow500, we sleep naked. Being naturists (please don't judge or criticise) we are comfortable in my own skins during the day. (Hygiene? towels or sarongs on seats)

Now that it is winter and a bit cold inside - we invested in onesies. It takes a while before the fireplace warms the house in the morning here in France.

I have MS and find the whole getting dressed thing difficult too, so when I'm not going anywhere I'll quite happily stay in my pj's, there not a lot of point in tiring myself out with all that effort only to have to do the reverse again later.
So no, you stay in your pj's if its easier, I do xx

Don’t wear PJs but a nightdress so can’t imagine wearing it all day what if the postman or delivery person called I’d be so embarrassed. But I do wear comfortable jumpers and maxi skirts and socks around the house and sometimes just put my long hair in a low ponytail instead of styling it with flower clips or twisted front braids etc.

No way! I very much keep to “normal” routine. Up at 6am, breakfast, shower, go out with dogs, do breakfast things etc. I like to have a plan and to achieve something each day.

I realise I’m lucky being able to do such things. My husband has stage 4 cancer and on chemo so I grasp at normality for me.

Having very little in the way of self discipline I have somehow managed to stick with my resolve at the beginning of this to get up, shower, wash hair, do exercises and apply some make up. After that burst of good behaviour it all goes downhill as I can't face getting properly dressed just to be at home, so very casual (scruffy) stuff is the daily wear. I'm looking forward to dressing up and putting some scent on - when we are free!

I do get dressed everyday, but it is getting later and later and yesterday, first time ever I stayed in my sleep t-shirt and dressing gown until midday. I work from home so no-one sees me. In the summer it is different. When I do get dressed it is 'sloppy wear' and if I go to put my 'normal' clothes on - strangely they feel tight. Oh I'll start the sensible eating plan in a couple of weeks.

Too cold to go out and feed sheep in my pjs! I had to climb over a frosty metal hurdle early this morning so pup could have a wee - that taught me the value of clothing round ones nethers

If we all stay in pjs all day, we may as well all be in Mao Tse-tung uniforms! That's probably what lockdowns are ultimately aiming to achieve by long term conditioning. Old lover boy, Neil Fergusson, got his lockdown ideas from China in the first place.
