Favourite type of entertainment?

I love choir concerts. My favourite cd is Les Choristes en Concert a Paris, even though I don't understand a lot of it.

What do you like best about where you live?

My back garden backs onto a field which has woodland behind it. It's a really beautiful view. We have cows in it in the Summer.
You'd never know it was there from looking at the front of the house.

Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery?

A pair of gold earrings my darling late Dad bought me

How long have you lived in your current house ?

21 years, and five weeks

What did you wear the last time that you went to a wedding?

A cerise suit, very smart, complete with a daft hat.


What has been your biggest regret in life?

Not dumping my abusive first boyfriend a lot sooner. Took 7 years to get away from him.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Can’t pick just one: Alan Davies, Robson Green

Who is your favourite newsreader?

Simon McCoy. He always laughs

Who is your least favourite news reader ?

Timed this one wrong. Can't say I have one as I don 't watch much news to be able to make an opinion - I read news briefly in the mornings and more at length at night.

A day trip somewhere - where would it be?

Stratford upon Avon, home of the Bard and a beautiful riverside town.

Which season of the year is your favourite?

Spring, without reservation. Time of hope, opportunity, promise and newness of all things outdoors.

Where will your first 'formal' holiday be to once we are 'released'?

Barbados for the third attempt at getting there.

Q: What’s your favourite musical theatre production?

We have a cabin booked with friends to celebrate my 60th in May, providing we get 'released' in time.

I don't have one because I never go out. If I really have to use them, I use the boring blue ones.

Do you have a faith?

Catholic, I know it’s not perfect, but it’s the closest to an ideal for me. I can see the goodness in other faiths too.

Were you closest to your mother or father?

My mother definitely. I was the clingy child - there were seven of us. I still miss her so much. I didn't really know my dad. He went out drinking every night.

What book and song would you take to a desert island, and what would your luxury item be?

I would take The Song of the Lark by Willa Cather and The Very Thought of You, Cole Porter.

My luxury item would be a cashmere blanket.

Have you any foreign blood in your family?

No. I think that we are a very Anglo Saxon lot. I'd love to be proved otherwise!
