Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry and cold outside here in brackley this morning , a clear sky above with a half moon .
Due to temperatures not going above freezing locally according to forecast , will stay in and maybe await post for reading materials .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from bright but chilly Kent! Oh Mary I’m so glad you’re safely at home all be it a little isolated. And your DS and DGD to visit too - hopefully that means a thawing of the estrangement. I have often wondered what it would take for my DD to do the same. Even when she had a brain haemorrhage 10 years ago, I wasn’t allowed to contact her , never mind go to Malta to help! Her husband needed medical info, which I could supply, and he just would not contact me. Fingers crossed your son realises our time here is short and he only has one mum!
Another quiet day , finishing last part of the new Stuart Macbride book. I read it with The Pigeonhole app so get a few chapters over a ten day period. Another book on the Kindle about a family that’s won the lottery and it’s all going Pete Tong! Just My Luck / Adele Parks. Not my usual crime novel but it’s nice to have a change.
Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning Mick and other GN. It’s -1 here and the view across Morecambe Bay and up to the hills is breathtaking, just like the cold. The pavement looks lethal but there’s not much traffic and they’ve gritted the road so I think I’ll try a walk later.

Good morning everyone from Co Durham. It's cold and bright here today. I'm sitting waiting for the bin men. They are supposed to come in and get the bin as hubby and I have health problems. They didn't come and get it last week so I am hoping to catch them today, that's if they turn up. I too took my tree, decs and other Xmas ornaments down the last two days. By the time I'm up and down the stairs with the boxes I am worn out. Now I have to sort the front room and dining room out. Love the word Yestytjough. Stay safe everyone

Hi there Ah2000 from freezing and foggy South Gloucestershire.

Ah2000 Thu 07-Jan-21 09:57:17

Good morning all, I discovered this thread yesterday as I'm a new user, such a lovely idea.
Sunny in East Sussex, so a walk planned, take care.

Gelisajams Thu 07-Jan-21 09:56:28

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Morecambe Bay. A slow start this morning as a slippery walk is not a good idea. The frost really is very thick. A quick skim through the posts before I read properly- great to see Marydoll home and back posting and hear that her son came yesterday.
Will get my Pilates ball out and do some some exercise, but other than that I think it’s another lazy day.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick, Annie, and especially Marydoll.
It is so good to hear that you are back home safe and sound, and also that your DS and wee GD came to see you.
Made me all teary, but nicely so.
We are doing nothing, again, today, at least nothing is planned.
The visit to the tip went well yesterday, and I must say I like the timed slots. Now I have the urge to tidy cupboards and get rid of surplus 'stuff'. Where does it all come from?
I blame my parents, they never threw anything away that could come in useful, but I've had enough of that now.
Kittylester, if your DH is one of the volunteer hospital drivers, I salute him and all others who do this. Tomorrow morning , I have one booked to take me for an MRI scan, and it is early!
Best wishes to all, take care, stay safe and have a good day.
PS.
I have just previewed my post and it seems that I have somehow included Mick's message as well.
So apologies, as I do not seem to be able to delete it without losing everything else

Marydol, Glad you’re warm and comfy at home. What joy to see your estranged DS and little DGD! Small steps, but a beginning one hopes. Hope that marks a turn in the situation.

Hooray Mary!! And you can see from your garden visit that there's ALWAYS hope. x

Nortsat Thu 07-Jan-21 09:27:21

Urmston thanks.
Somehow I’d feel safer if we had Capt Furillo and Sergeant Phil in charge now ..

Grandmafrench Thu 07-Jan-21 09:25:07

I checked my post...and had to change "GrandmaB, please fight those SLUMS". See what I mean?

Gingster Thu 07-Jan-21 09:25:02

Good Morning everyone from a very cold, blue, sunny etc., on a January morning in the South of France where I have my positive head on. Thankfully. I examine it each morning as I raise the shutters. Today, I'm going to be o.k. I think.

To all who aren't, my thoughts are with you. Keep going Grans, don't ever give in.

Kalu do hope you are feeling less battered today? Oldbutstill if I cheer you, that's brilliant. That's cheered me now! Ah yes, Colonel Yeastichoff - he of the Russian Army. I know him well, Scentia. There have been times when I've sent predictive text mails (unchallenged) to friends because they are far more entertaining than anything I could write!

Gaga....Pride & Prejudice. I can read it over and over. The t.v. adaptation with Alison Steadman as Mrs Bennett was so good. A real escape always. GrannyG what a blow. We heard this morning that a GD in the UK (19) was taken into hospital with severe tonsillitis. It's Covid. Another reason for family anxiety. Well done for paying attention to your surroundings, Urms. You can't ever be blasé with this - but with that larder you can always morph into a lazygreedygran, of course. Keep safe in your larder. Travelsafar sending you warm wishes. BlueSapphire - daffodils. Yes, you've got your priorities right. Their little sunny faces can only do you the world of good. GrandmaB Please fight those glums, find the kickass you and refuse to be beaten down! x

Baubles enjoy your 'cleat freedom'. Mary hopefully you are recovering from your nasty scare and are safely home at Doll Mansions again? Mattie - naughty girl with those glasses and with all that sewing too! Pleased you are headache free and seeing a whole new world.

Little dogs off the lead, Lins, how beautiful. All of you with dodgy walking, dodgy cars, dodgy hips, dodgy deliveries, be of good cheer and just stay safe. It's all that matters.

My Xmas decs were all put away yesterday. Go Me! I'm about to put a huge seedy loaf in the oven to bake. My DH couldn't work out what the smell was as it wafted from a warm spare bedroom this morning. You'd think he'd won the Lottery. Small pleasures - and that's what we need now.

Have a safe day, find your smiles in all your doings and not doings. We shall get past this. Hugs to every single one of you in this lovely Morning Club. x

ixion Thu 07-Jan-21 09:23:14

Lovely to have you back, Marydoll.
You've been missed?
Take care.

Ashcombe Thu 07-Jan-21 09:17:45

Good to see you’re home, Marydoll and the best Epiphany present in the form of a visit from your DS and DGD. Happy tears here. Please take care. ?

cornergran Thu 07-Jan-21 09:17:24

Relieved you’re home marydoll, especially with your son and granddaughter to greet you. How wonderful. Fingers firmly crossed here for two negative covid tests. Wishing you many reasons to smile today.

Mapleleaf Thu 07-Jan-21 09:14:08

So lovely to hear from you, Marydoll. Take care and have plenty of rest. ?

harrigran Thu 07-Jan-21 09:12:58

Good morning from the NE where we have a really harsh frost.
Our Sainsbury's delivery yesterday caught us off guard, it was booked for 10 to 11 but arrived at 9am, thankfully DH was dressed and ready . Only missing items were tinned tuna, we will manage without.
Get well wishes to Marydoll and to Travel and all others needing a little kindness today.

Oldbutstilluseful Thu 07-Jan-21 09:11:27

Welcome home Marydoll . How lovely you saw your little granddaughter. I really hope this marks a thaw in the estrangement. Look after yourself ??

brook2704 Thu 07-Jan-21 09:09:20

So pleased you’re home now marydoll and in your own cosy bedroom. Especially happy that your DS came to see you with your DGD too

seacliff Thu 07-Jan-21 09:07:57
