Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry and cold outside here in brackley this morning , a clear sky above with a half moon .
Due to temperatures not going above freezing locally according to forecast , will stay in and maybe await post for reading materials .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a cold E Kent. Here too, the temperatures are forecast not to be much above freezing. The first proper frost of the winter, no snow yet, though up the road had some. Too near the sea I suspect.
Marydoll, I hope you had a good night and your hospital stay has meant that your meds have been rebalanced.
I had my new glasses adjusted the other day. The difference is miraculous. I have had a headache from my eyes/glasses for over 6 months now. I have been headache free for three days now. It is wonderful!
Spanish restarts on Zoom today. Unsatisfactory, but better than none. I’m too lazy to do it on my own. In October we were told we would have our first cara a cara (face to face) class in April. They were farsighted!
Starch the old upper lip and have the best day possible. At least it’s not going to rain today! Stay safe.

Scentia Thu 07-Jan-21 06:38:45

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and very icy under foot.
I am awaiting my Sainsbury’s delivery as I got a call yesterday saying they had no drivers so could not deliver to me, they said I could fetch it yesterday but it was from a store miles away not my local one! Notice they took the money yestytjough so hop out turns up today?
Hope Mary got home yesterday and is feeling better.
Take care everyone and stay safe, warm and upright today.❤️

Scentia Thu 07-Jan-21 06:41:43

Note to self: Proof read?
Took the money yesterday, hope it turns up.

grandMattie Thu 07-Jan-21 06:41:44

Yestytjough is an interesting word Scentia! ?. Make much use of it...

grandMattie Thu 07-Jan-21 06:42:21

Loved the word though!

Scentia Thu 07-Jan-21 06:44:45

Grandmattie. You may see it again as it is now firmly fixed into my phone dictionary ?

grandMattie Thu 07-Jan-21 06:50:03

That’s terrific! ?

Bellasnana Thu 07-Jan-21 06:54:02

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 20°C. Yesterday was warm as well although it was a bit windy.

Very glad your glasses are now doing a proper job grandM.

Hoping Marydoll is home and on the mend. You gave us a scare.flowers

Have been talking to DD1 who lives in downtown Washington DC. I was quite concerned about her but she is fine and currently on night shift at the hospital where she works.

My weekly outing to the hairdresser today after which I will call on DD3 who is going to help me with something I have to do online.

Stay safe everyone.☀️

Morning all! 0.9c here on the south coast. We have a click and collect this morning between 8am and 9am and suspect the car will need a de-ice before we go. DH put a cover over the windscreen last night - amazing how effective an old sheet can be.

Another day of nothing much on the agenda but at least Himself seems back to what is normal for him, these days, thankfully.

I am re-reading Pride and Prejudice at bedtime and enjoying stepping back into the world of the Bennets. Feels good to escape the worries we all share here in 2021.

Keep safe and keep warm everyone. Soon be spring! sunshine

Ha ha, yestytjough... love it! Good morning from south Cornwall where I've poked my nose out and it's clear, cold and starry. A sunny day forecast. A late evening out on my patio again last night, trying to identify various stars and listening to an audio book.

Today I'm painting my bedsitting room ceiling. I think. Maybe.

Marydoll my fruit trees are budding, maybe yours will be soonish too. Hope you're doing well.

The best of days to you all.

Beauregard Thu 07-Jan-21 07:11:56

Good morning from a very cold Derbyshire.

I hope Marydoll is feeling better and had a good night.

I'm off shopping soon. DH thinks I'm mad to go so early but I like to go when it's quiet, especially now. He would go much later in the day when many things have sold out.

DD and family had covid tests on Tuesday but thankfully they came back negative. We'd looked after the boys on Monday when the school was closed at short notice. They went back on Tuesday (parents are key workers) but we were called by the school as the eldest was feeling unwell and we had to collect them early. We are their childcare bubble and they don't have anyone else to help them, so it was a great relief to us when the rest was negative. It felt very worrying. The parents are teachers, so are still involved with teaching children online or at school teaching other key workers children.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Good morning Muck and all

Hoping our Marydoll is on the mend thanks

We are rather subdued at Gravy Grange we heard yesterday that our dear young friend is in ITU with Covid and on a ventilator, they are under 40.

Please keep safe and be careful folks ?‍♀️

Good morning everyone from (I hate my prompts still suggest ‘sunny’ and ‘Malaga’!) cold, icy South Manchester where I’ve woken up to snow again! Brr.

What a great start to my day that little exchange between you both Scentia and grandMattie. So funny! Yep, love the new word! Put a smile on my face already sat here grinning like the proverbial.

No plans today. Will vacuum and mop through the apartment as the Christmas decorations were taken down at teatime yesterday.. Seriously folks those are words you won’t see me post very often....
#lazygran

Although Sainsbury’s is just downstairs in the square (my ‘larder’ - I bet your’s isn’t as big na na ne na nah! - we are going to make a shopping list to last us until Monday. We will avoid weekends, pop down in an evening when it’s quieter etc to be more alert, as we were in the lockdown in Spain. It’s too easy to be blasé this time around and someone has to get this blasted awful virus. I really don’t want it to be one of us (obvs). I said to himself last night that in a development of 64 apartments the odds are that one person has it in this building. Lift buttons, communal door handles have quite rightly got me on higher awareness. Just sensible extra precautions for a few weeks really.

Hope Thursday is good to us all and that you are safely home Marydoll after your scare. Also hope you are brighter today dragonfly. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Beechnut Thu 07-Jan-21 07:23:43

Good Morning everyone from a heavily frosted Severnside where it is also foggy or Misty.

I like to do my shopping very early Beauregard and as you say especially now.

My daughter bought me a special windscreen cover Gagagran. I haven’t used it yet though. I should go and put it on the car later.

Marydoll I hope that you are heading in the right direction as to getting well and returning home.

Changing the bed and upstairs cleaning. I might even dust where I haven’t for a while ?

Stay safe and warm all, those numbers are scary ?

Urmstongran Thu 07-Jan-21 07:24:46

Oh no GG13 that’s just awful to hear. I hope they pull through. My stepfather told me on the phone yesterday that his 83y old neighbour who caught COVID 9 weeks ago and was admitted straight to ICU came home on Tuesday. I hope that news gives you heart.

Beechnut Thu 07-Jan-21 07:26:32

I think we went to the same housekeeping school Urm. I always got top marks ?

Ashcombe Thu 07-Jan-21 07:26:36

Good morning from a cold and frosty Torbay!

It took me much of yesterday to demolish all evidence of Christmas here with the hardest part being the recalcitrant tree which was most reluctant to return to its box. I had to tell it to shed its concern about being broken into three as it will be reborn in 11 months' time! (I’m missing my “tree surgeon”!)

I’m pleased to hear good news re Marydoll's health and grandMattie’s eyes, especially with the amount of close work you do. “Yestytjough” is excellent, Scentia!

My thoughts and prayers are with all with worries, especially GrannyGravy13 with such young friends suffering at present. ?

Urmstongran Thu 07-Jan-21 07:32:55

Indeed Beechnut I usually came in second, right behind you. However I’ve gotten better at it over the years.

Good morning from a cold and frosty Essex by the sea.
Supermarket shopping this morning and that is all the excitement here today.
Sorry to hear about your friend GG, a worrying time.
I hope Mary had a good night's sleep and my best wishes to Travel and her DH.
What with the awful Covid statistics yesterday and the dreadful news from Washington last night the world is not a happy place at the moment.
I do hope that you all have the best day you can. We will get through this and come out the other side.
Love and hugs to all xx

cornergran Thu 07-Jan-21 07:40:02

Morning Mick, morning All from a frosty, misty corner of Somerset. Impressed with the MRI process yesterday, felt as safe as anything can be, kind and thoughtful staff. On to do battle with recalcitrant IT issues today. Am I looking forward to it? It comes way after my desire to clear all the cupboards and tidy the sheds.

Hope your friend improves soon GG and marydoll had a peaceful night. Good news your headaches have gone grandMattie. Special thoughts to all under the weather or with heavy hearts at the moment.

Take extra care out there everyone.

Sparklefizz Thu 07-Jan-21 07:44:33

Good morning Mick and all GNs from South Gloucestershire where it's bitterly cold and frosty with freezing fog and still dark. Brrr!

Hope Marydoll is home now and that all who are not well are feeling better this morning.

Take care if you go out, it's very icy. Special thoughts to all who feel sad or lonely.

kittylester Thu 07-Jan-21 07:44:51

Morning all from, yet again, a perishing cold North Leicestershire.

DH is off doing his drives this morning and I am waiting for the man to come and mend my fan oven.

I then have go to Sainsbury's!!!!! When l finished my online shop on Tuesday night, I must have forgotten to press the 'order' button. All we got on the delivery was 4 boxes of lager (my holding order!!) And 4 pints of milk, Maris Pipers, PG Tips, sugar and milk. Anyone like a brew and a baked potato?

Blossoming Thu 07-Jan-21 07:48:59

Good morning all. Cold and dark here today. I didn’t sleep well, worried about events in America. I won’t go into that heee as it’s political, struggling to believe it could happen in 21st century America.
