Gagajo
So what are they living on? Their pensions, setting up a business employing local folk as lots of my Spanish resident friends do.

Kandinsky

Nothing wrong with bringing in wonderful talent - that’s what the new points based system will do smile

There's a lot of 'wonderful talent' fleeing oppressive and dangerous regimes who are trying all sorts of risky and dangerous methods of getting to the UK.

But GagaJo they’re not getting free housing, health care etc etc.

I so agree about white working class boys - as a society we seem to have failed them. If only we knew what the solution might be.

Having lived in Spain for a year, I can assure you Kandinsky, there are a LOT of Brits living there who offer less than nothing.

I couldn’t just rock up on Australia’s shores if I had absolutely nothing to offer them.

I wouldn’t mind being without Priti Patel.

I noticed this too, and am in awe of what real collaboration has achieved.

The next big step is to bring the achievement of white working class boys to equal that of so many immigrant groups - a problem that has gone unresolved for the past thirty years at least.

.........have been listening to the news. Nearly every expert/scientist/virologist/doctor who is interviewed about covid and their part in fighting this pandemic is an immigrant, or possibly the offspring of an immigrant to these shores. A whole rainbow of nationalities who are a part of this fight.

Where would we be without them now?
