Good morning all from a much milder Glasgow, its 6°C, much better than yesterday's -8°C.
Kalu, I'm sorry you had a poor night's sleep, forty winks are my doctor's orders for today.
Mick, I hope you manage your phone call, I find a friendly chat always helps to pass the day.
I have a question to ask for Ashcombe. Are you still able to attend church services in England? All churches in Scotland are closed, even our usual live stream Saturday vigil Mass wasn't being streamed.
Another question, this time for Gaga. A million years ago in another life, I was on a girls' weekend and we went to Pierre Victoire's in Chester for dinner. For the first time ever, I tasted red cabbage and I loved it. I have never been able to replicate the taste. We had red cabbage last night and it was such a disappointment. Would you be willing to share your method, Gaga?
Yesterday morning DH and I did our Covid tests, just in case I had been infected in hospital.
DD arrived obscenely early, so that she could catch the post. I have to admit to being exceedingly grumpy and feeling out of sorts, which didn't help what happened next. My tolerance levels were registering about minus 1.
We had received the tests by post and without giving me a chance to say anything, DH ripped them open and dumped them on the worktop. Mistake number one,
The decision had made to do things logically, one test at a time, but course his selective deafness kicked in.
Mistake number two happened when DH decided to do his own thing and disregard what we agreed.
I had my phone in one hand with the code and my tablet in the other, to register the code, when I noticed DH Mr Hash and Bash footering about on his phone, no sign of his tablet, so that he could register, Mistake number four.
I went of to do the test in the sanitised downstairs shower room and came back to find DH had dumped all of his paperwork on top of mine and had mixed things up. ? BIG mistake number five, BP soaring. ☹
After sorting that out successfully, DH went to do his.
That's when it all went pear shaped. We don't know what he did, but he totally messed up the online registration of his details and he couldn't register it. Mistake number six
Not wanting to bore you, I have missed out mistake seven where he ignored the instructions on how to do the test.
Poor DD and SIL were standing outside in freezing temperatures, trying to offer support from the back door. ☹
Eventually, DD had to phone the support line for help.
If I could have left the premises and run away, I would have.
Being in hospital was much less stressful. ?
DH was totally oblivious to the fact that he was totally to blame for the chaos. How could it have been my fault? I am a woman, I am perfect!!!?
Unfortunately I posted a photo of a bouquet of flowers DS2 had sent me on the wrong chat and DD who likes to think she is the favourite child (# sibling rivalry) saw them.
Her plan had been to bring flowers yesterday, so instead she and SIL bought me an air fryer! I have always wanted one, what a great gift.
An easy day today for me. We have no Sunday papers, as we are awaiting our test results. ☹ I love devouring the Sunday papers, so I shall think.of some mischief to get up to. ?
Yesterday, I found myself overwhelmed by the events of the last week and what a lucky escape I had. Time to get those big girl pants on again and carpe diem.
It's heartening to see so many posting on this thread. My thoughts are with travelsafar and the difficult weeks ahead for her and her family.
I haven't seen dragonfly, I hope she is OK.
Enjoy your Sunday!
