Good morning from frost, misty E Kent.
Not a lot on. Quelled surprise! Virtual church, stew from last night for dinner, some more sewing.
Probably more rugby this afternoon. At least I don’t dread the early evening anymore, when I had no idea what injuries would have occurred on the field. DH has had everything from broken nose to serious broken ankle, and everything else in between.

My DD sent me this yesterday which would certainly have given a much needed boost to teachers after a difficult start to the new term.

She is a Deputy Headteacher in a large primary school and spent four hours yesterday rearranging the timetable and staffing required for the forthcoming week, after learning that a bubble within her school would have to be closed due to a confirmed case of Covid. Like others in Gransnet, I’m so thankful to have retired from teaching!

I shall wrap up warmly to toddle across the road for the 9.30 (Covid secure!) service then hibernate cosily indoors for the rest of the day.

Nothing much happening here today, just a bit of DIY and room sorting. I'll walk to the field to tend to the girls ? this afternoon, maybe pick a few vegetables while I'm there.

Good morning all from a now snow cleared Glasgow. A steady drizzle yesterday cleared it, just hoping it doesn’t turn to icy conditions again.

I only managed 3 hours sleep so will certainly not be the brightest button today. I suspect a horizontal pause may be on the cards at some point.

Good morning from Malta where it is very warm but not sunny. The heat seems to be coming via the wind from the Sahara.

Morning all! It's still flipping cold here on the south coast. -1.3c at 6.30am. Must remember to run the car today as I definitely do not want a repeat of Thursday's flat battery.

We are having confit de canard for lunch today with red cabbage, petit pois and new potatoes. I don't always feel like eating a "proper meal" but DH does. Yesterday I had a smoked salmon bagel, and enjoyed that, whilst Himself had fishcakes and ratatouille.

I plan to give myself a pedicure this morning and that is probably the main item on the agenda. The days seem to have slowed down since the start of 2021. Anyone else noticed that?

Good morning from a cold, damp south Cornwall. Well, I know what I'll be doing today! Noises above my bedsitting room last night so I assume I have a four-legged intruder! My son will come and investigate later. Oof. A trip to Wilko for poison I expect. Oh I hate killing things, even rats. Apart from that I'll watch the Morning Service and Songs of Praise and hobble to the Pier en route to the poison shop, to breathe the sea air. Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from S Lanarkshire, still snow covered where I am but hoping the weather forecast is right and it and the ice will clear today. I am stir crazy and desperate to get outside for a walk. Virtual church later and a continued attempt to shake myself out of the doldrums which I’ve found myself in for the last few days. Good wishes to everyone.

Good morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cold ? but not as cold as yesterday.
No plans today, I usually take DGS out on the trails near his home but the police have been fining people for being too far away from home and he lives 8 miles from me, I had him overnight on Friday and all day yesterday anyway so I won’t miss him!! He is 21 months now and such a little character ? his language has improved no end over the holiday, his mum thinks it helped having daddy at home for so long and not just her as he switches off from her voice most of the time. It must be hard for these toddlers as he literally only sees and hears his mummy unless he gets to spend time with me and DH if DD needs help. Poor boy has never played with another child his age since he was 10 months old.?
Anyway, enough miserable talk, hope you all have the best Sunday possible and as it is going to warm up this week, manage to get out for a bit of fresh air.

Oh how I long for good old days when I could put my head on the pillow and wake up 8 hours later ???. I shall be tired all day!!

Roast Chicken with stuffing, roast potatoes and veggies for dinner. No plans, it’s very frosty and cold outside and doesn’t look very enticing.

Good morning Mick, morning all from S Lanarkshire where overnight rain has cleared some of the snow but it looks as though there’s still a fair bit of slush and ice about.

Another day of doing very little except for the damage assessor coming to seethe mess DH made of the garage door. At least once he’s been DH should be able to force it open and I can get in to use the dryer.

No idea what we’re eating today, I’ve fallen out with the kitchen and can’t be bothered with cooking. Finished watching Serpent last night, a drama based on a true story about a couple who preyed on young tourists in Thailand in the late 60s. Back to Spiral tonight I think.

Like others I’ve nothing much planned for today except my usual local walk somewhere and then maybe a bit of sorting through and tidying drawers and cupboards etc. Exciting times we’re having ?

I think a phone call means such a lot to people at the moment, so enjoy a catch up with your friend Michael.
Not doing much myself today, but will try to keep busy this morning then read and watch tv.

Good morning from a very frosty Essex by the sea. As GG said, not very enticing out there.
We too have roast chicken today and there is football and snooker on the tv this afternoon so DH will be happy.
I may start my new cross stitch later or just read the Scandinavian thriller I an reading and try to make sense of the plot.

Good morning Mick and all from a frosty S Welsh coast, 0 degrees and there is a lovely pink sunrise. I phoned a neighbour yesterday, she said that some items had been missing from her internet shop including her husband's favourite, tinned beans and sausages. I left a tin inside her porch, my good deed for the day. I have another neighbour who is housebound, we always wave to her when we go for a walk, small things but they make a big difference don't they.

Good morning from a purple tinged N . Bucks. A sign of a very cold day I presume.

Yesterday was a good day for smiles. FaceTime with DGS2 resulted in lots of giggles and a family zoom session and quiz produced lots of laughs. It really did us all good.

Nothing planned today except a short walk and then I’ll settle down with some crochet.

Good morning from north Surrey. Cold and frosty start to the day here.
I had a long walk yesterday, walked to DD’s, when I arrived she was just leaving for a walk with DGSs so I joined them. Dog changes from a well behaved boy to an excited, daft dog when the children are around. He loves to find the mud and was filthy but we walked along a small river on our way back and he had a good paddle and frolic with the boys in their wellies in the water. They would have stayed all afternoon but DD and I were getting too cold.
I am stating to make good progress with my very large jigsaw
Due back to work end of the week, received an email to say lots of staff off with Covid, thought to have passed to each other. Will need to be extra vigilant on my return, don’t want to bring it home to DH, I showed him the email and he fully understands my need to “do my bit” and is supportive of that. Seems we have been here before some months ago, feels different this time, I am more concerned, interestingly my daughter is the opposite, we chatted yesterday and she said that in spring she was far more worried about getting it and dying.
My day will follow a similar pattern to yesterday. Wishing all GMs a good day whatever that may mean for you

I watched the last 2 episodes of The Serpent last night as well baubles. I enjoyed it but thought it over long. Very tense. I can’t believe how he got away with it for so long. I also finished Bridgerton. I loved it but a bit too much ‘hanky panky’.

Oh Viridian I hope you catch your unwelcome visitor. I dread mice in the house. ?.

A walk with little pooch later and then Slow cooked Gammon in apple juice for lunch. DH seems to have trouble swallowing at times ( I think a lasting symptom of the TIA he had in April) , ? Does anyone know ?

I’ve made little GD some veg soup so will pop that round whilst out on my dog walk. She’s a terrible eater but she does like Nannas soup. ?

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and light with an apricot glow.

After a very lazy day yesterday where I didn’t get out of bed until after noon and the only productive thing I did was write out a new Christmas card list I’ll go outside and do some garden work today. I’m slowly working towards tidying up my boundary plants to make them manageable.

I agree about January slowing down as we edge towards the middle of the month Gagagran. I think that’s why we are given not so many days for February and before we know we are into March.

I have admin to attend to today. I have received post Christmas thank you cards from young ones in my family and I will thank them for their thank you cards. I’ll aim to have a walk and later will roast a piece of pork for supper.

We watched an interesting film last night, with George Clooney called ‘Michael Clayton’ about corporate corruption. Well worth watching, we thought.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where the snow has gone. I’m not sure it’s gone from the Fells because they are covered in cloud.
Not much to say today as no no real plans so as DH and I have been reminiscing I thought I’d tell you about when DGD had a nasty fall a couple of years ago. The A&E doctor was checking her over when she informed him her daddy was black. Looking puzzled at the blond haired blue eyed man at the side of her he said ‘oh is he’ . The mystery was solved when mum returned. ‘My mummy is green’ she said. She was learning her colours and was referring to their clothes.

Grey and cold here in South Bucks. I do envy you your warm day Bellasnana. Sunshine lifts the spirits for me.

Other than my usual 20 minute brisk walk I will stay indoors. I seem to find lots to do but not the enthusiasm to do it. I used to watch the News a lot but it is so dire at present I think I am sticking my head in the sand. I never realised what freedom was until it was taken away from us. I’m getting all maudlin and need to just take myself in hand and get on with life as it is, just like our parents and grandparents did during WW2. Onwards and upwards.

Good morning from frosty Colchester.
Roast beef at lunchtime today. We usually eat in the evening but DS is driving back to base after an extended Christmas break this afternoon. We probably won't see him again until Easter.
Plenty of washing and tidying to do once he's gone.
Sad but happy he's able to get on with his life after a fashion.
