Asking for feedback

I occasionally leave a review on Amazon for a product I've found particularly good or spectacularly bad, or for a book I've found lives up to its reputation - or not. I keep getting requests for reviews from companies like M&S but they never used to need my approval.

I always leave a star rated feedback on Ebay, but never bother with reviews for anything.

I read the feedback if I am buying something or using a service so understand why it is asked for.

I will give feedback maybe on a book I have enjoyed but I am asked for feedback on things eg electrical goods that I have only had a week and can't possibly know how good it is that soon.

You can switch the feedback requests off on many websites. I found a way to do it on Trustpilot and a couple of others and hardly get bothered now.

I don't mind giving feedback but I have heard that a lot of the 'feedback' is actually from the company, so can we trust it anyway?

I always leave a review on eBay but only to small shops/sellers on Amazon, unless there is a problem, then I leave what I consider to be a fair review.

If you don't feel inclined just ignore. All business now relies on feedback, especially ebay and Amazon.

I don’t mind if either the product has been very good or really bad or if I have had exceptional service and I feel my review may be of some use to someone.
Most of the time though the product is as it should be and it turned up when expected so I don’t bother.
I have recently had a really good buying experience and I am almost best friends now with the business owner! I will gladly recount my experience with them when asked.

My most hated word-----Targets ! This is what all this feedback is about. Reaching " targets " over this vaccination is so distasteful when it's about people's lives, not bloomin' targets !

I agree - if the product is not up to scratch they will hear about it. Otherwise it is just doing the job as intended. I think any further feedback is up to the customer. I do leave feedback on eBay, etc. but still get asked for further reviews and these can be quite long and complicated. I usually give up.

I object to being asked for reviews. Occasionally I do give them, but they're a nuisance to do to be honest.

If I could just award a number of stars and make a comment if I wanted to, it would be fine. What's irritating is being asked to think up a title for my review and then write an essay on the subject.

I do use use reviews from time to time, so appreciate that they have value. There might be more of them if they were easier to do!
