soop no words to describe the frustration you must have with BT, saying you must be at the end of your very long tether is an understatement ?
Hoping MrP gets all the help he needs and thoughts with panache at this worrying time
Beautiful photo Izabella thank you
Hoping poorly pets are feeling better too

dragonfly46 Mon 01-Feb-21 21:00:00

So sorry to hear BT have not sorted you out yet soop and that your surgeon has not been in touch. I hope tomorrow brings a better day.

Beautiful words as ever Izabella.

‘Evening All’
?

Sorry to hear of trials and tribulations in the kitchen tonight. I don’t know Panache but feel for anyone struggling with a tough time right now. I hope she has someone to lean on. Izabella you have an incredible talent for description and that photo of the heron is stunning.

I’ve nothing to report. Which in these strange times is a blessing indeed. soop I can’t believe you’re still without internet access I imagine you are now past caring on one level. But as you say, tomorrow is another day so fingers crossed.

Hope everyone has a pleasant and peaceful night ahead.
Till tomorrow. x

‘Goodnight All’.

Doodle that is sad news. Pass on my good wishes to Panache. I hope she has support in real life. ?

Nannytopsy Mon 01-Feb-21 19:49:38

Please give Panache much love.

Doodle Mon 01-Feb-21 19:44:52

Many Kitcheners will remember dear Panache from her many posts on this thread in times past. I know several of you have asked after her so hope she won’t mind me updating you.
MrP has been in terrible pain for some time and they have had a big battle getting him adequate pain relief. Following an MRI they have been told today that MrP has compression of the spine and has been taken into hospital by ambulance.
Poor Panache as you can imagine is very upset.

Isabella lovely post and photo. ?

annodomini Mon 01-Feb-21 18:54:36

I think soop, that we should resort to good old fashioned curses against BT. I'm a bit shaky on witchcraft, but someone may be hiding their light under a bushel. Should we dust down our broomsticks and form a coven. It's the only solution I can think of. ?

Jaxjacky Mon 01-Feb-21 18:52:55

16 inches is tons of snow. I’ve seen first mention of ‘similar to the Beast of the East’ on the BBC weather site, for a couple of weeks time and New York is about to get a major snow storm, winter is not done.
Soop there are no words, not allowed here anyway. ?
Monday dinner, equals lazy, quiche, chips and peas. My seed potatoes were delivered today, I need to scrounge some more egg boxes and at the weekend see what seed compost I’ve got lurking in the shed to start chillies and tomatoes indoors.

Yiayia4 Mon 01-Feb-21 18:41:09

Thinking of you Soop?

Grandmabatty Mon 01-Feb-21 18:23:49

Soop I feel your frustration from here in Polmont. It's so annoying for you. Isabella you are a beautiful writer. Babysitting duties all day today. We went out for a walk but there were people at the swings so we avoided going there. I had an easy shift today as he slept for two and a half hours! Sirloin steak done in red wine and braised with carrots, onions and mushrooms with mash for dinner. I'm waiting for the potatoes to be ready. It's been very cold with snow showers today and I for one,an heartily sick of winter. Anyway I hope you are all well.

Nannytopsy Mon 01-Feb-21 18:22:09

16 inches is an awful lot of snow! I hope it doesn’t quite come to that!
DH was told this afternoon’s phone call from the vascular surgeon about his leg ulcers was cancelled. Fortunately we had just got in from our click and collect when he phoned, two hours early! The good news is there is nothing wrong with his veins, arteries, circulation. The bad news is that there is no quick fix for his ulcers, as hoped. Oh well, he’ll keep on carrying on.
I have sown the first seeds - Spring is coming.
Good luck with BT tomorrow Soop. Have you contacted local TV or the newspaper? If it’s an OpenReach problem, go directly to them, the Guardian suggests. ?

Izabella Mon 01-Feb-21 17:40:13

Good afternoon from the Shire. We awoke this morning to glorious winter sunshine juxtaposed with a shimmering silvery rime. Stunningly beautiful. Made me thankful. The heron paid us a visit and surveyed the frozen pond with apparent frustration until the suns warmth increased and he/she appeared to sunbath atop the duckhouse with relish .The birdsong was initially hesitant but grew in volume as time went by. There has been an influx of noisy blackbirds and the rooks are busy cawing and flapping around. CH tells me there was also a kerfuffle amongst Wrens but I missed that.

Commiserations as ever to those with maladies and concerns that are always with us, four legged friends under par and what seems to be an almost inevitable problem with BT for dear soop

I did try and recap further upthread to try and be more inclusive but the old Alzheimers thwarted me. No matter. It is so frustrating to be unable to retain stuff short term.

Next job is to make pound cake and I will bring some to the kitchen tomorow. Meanwhile take care all and wrap up. The forecast is for 16 inches of snow apparently.

Puzzler61 Mon 01-Feb-21 17:12:04

soop hugs to you too ? ?

soop Mon 01-Feb-21 16:56:23

As you lovely lot are aware I was hoping to share some positive update news regarding BT. So sorry. The phone call came mid afternoon. The gentleman who is a go-between asked, what news from the engineer who was to have called on Friday? We have no news. Not a peep from the engineer.
I'm afraid that when the gentleman said, I apologise, and I shall look into the matter, I felt physically sick with frustration.
The surgeon who performed the last drop-bot procedure was to have been in touch, some time ago. Again, not a peep.

I hope that you will understand that, right now, I am not good company. Once more, tomorrow is another day. I hope to feeling more cheerful by the time I join you all again.

Virtual hugs in abundance. smile moon

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Feb-21 14:11:14

Excuse me N&G and so he should-there is always 24 hour care here!!!!

NanaandGrampy Mon 01-Feb-21 14:05:23

Thanks all!

No vet yet but I dare say she’s busy. As Sam is now eating and drinking we can manage till she finds time to all .

Glad Mya is doing better too Muse . Grampy used to be like your hubby until he fell off a ladder about 5 years ago. He spent 3 months almost immobile ( how I didn’t kill him I don’t know ?‍♀️) . It cost him a holiday in Florida to make up for it. Now there is no argument- if I say the job needs a professional that is exactly what we get ! He wouldn’t survive a second 3 months ?

You’re right Puzzler we are his staff ?. He lives the life of Reilly that dog !!

soop Mon 01-Feb-21 14:01:51

Better furry friend news from N&G and muse. Sorry about Mr Muse. We had a west wing annex at one time for poorly menfolk. Should we re-open it? smile

Clears throat in a ladylike fashion. Still no news from BT. I have run out of expletives. shock

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Feb-21 13:39:10

muse Mya is definitely your first prority-she needs care, not grumbles.

I am pleased to hear that Sam is perking up a bit- he may need that matted area shaved off so that you can see what you are dealing with now. So pleased he can manage a treat or two.

soop this is another working day- has anybody from BT made an appearance? Not quite the way to run a business.
TOYA

muse Mon 01-Feb-21 13:24:15

Comfortable walk with Mya this morning. She's on her first day of new feed. Small portions throughout the day.
Comfortable walk, is no rain. Feel it might come on this afternoon.

Husband in bed. Pain in lower back/pelvis. He was shuffling around all day yesterday. He knows he has problems but will do jobs that involve heavy lifting. He is stubborn and refuses to get people in to do a heavy task/job. I have to put up with the grumbles when I do book someone.

Off to collect a good stock of replacement food for Mya this afternoon. Leaving husband surrounded with book, card and letter to write, coffee and biscuits. Taking Mya with me but it's risky! Can't leave her with husband.

Sending a smile for Sam

Puzzler61 Mon 01-Feb-21 12:10:29

Morning all.
I hope Sam continues to perk up and he will let you know his likes and dislikes as you are his Staff after all.
Get Well soon ?

NanaandGrampy Mon 01-Feb-21 11:56:27

Morning all,

Just squeaked in !

A calmer start to the day with no over night disasters thanks to the t shirt. Grampy spent a patient 15 mins trying to ease the matts out of his fur. Some of it is positively 'felted' so its going to be a long job. I think Sam is feeling brighter though.

He's definitely milking the situation by turning up his nose at every day treats but willingly eating 'nicer' ones. !! He's no idiot this boy lol !!

We're waiting for the vet to call now to see what the next steps are.

Nothing else of any interest has happened here apart from a video call from Jackson to Grampy for help with his fractions homework :-)

Happy day all x

‘Evening All’
?

Oh my, BladeAnnie that is one handsome boy. Like a mini lion with that ruff around his neck! Another Duncan fan here. Oh, the name of my Scottish stepfather too.
?

Sad news about Captain Tom Moore being in hospital with covid. I hope he pulls through. He’s 100 years old and raised £33 million for NHS charities during our darkest days last year. A truly inspirational man. His family must be so proud of him. My thoughts are with them all this evening.

Hope everyone here has a pleasant and peaceful night ahead. x

‘Goodnight all’.

Jaxjacky Sun 31-Jan-21 18:14:08

Nightmare NanaandGrampy hopefully progress tomorrow. Well that was a brisk walk this afternoon, speedy quick in sleety rain, so glad for central heating and thermal socks. I’m exited about my greenhouse I ordered yesterday, no delivery date yet. I have no patience, probably why I’m a useless crafter. Yet I have to be patient growing veg because they will grow in their own sweet time. Duck legs in orange, brocoli, cauli and new potatoes for dinner, I’ll watch the Countryfile weather forecast avidly. Pleasant evening to you,

dragonfly46 Sun 31-Jan-21 18:06:19

N&G how awful for you and Sam. I hope itchy means healing although that is not much consolation for you. Sick animals are such a worry. I do wish him well.

Charleygirl flowers.

Yummy yummy Grandmabatty.

?tomorrow soop.
