Does this really help bring closure?
To learn that your child did not die instantly as you were first told, but rather called for her Mummy and asked if she was going to die?
And that she may have survived with better care and treatment?
I find this whole episode deeply upsetting.
Or is it just me?

When I heard these details, I found them extremely distressing, but I understand the parents need to know.

I’ve been disturbed for a long time about the details I’ve heard repeatedly that the emergency services were prevented from giving immediate assistance. Perhaps there was concern that there was another bomb, I don’t know. But I think something went wrong that night, and the survivors and relatives do need to know.

Galaxy

As far as I understand it the family requested an independent report as they had concerns about the information that had been provided, have I got this wrong, I thought it was at the familys request?

Yes, this was their own "private" investigation.

The details I heard were that the Paramedics were held back from aid because of fear or a second bomb then were faced with dozens of critically injured casualties. In less chaotic circumstances I’m sure they could have done more, the reality was that only someone who was in the theater, a concert goer or a staff member could have applied a tourniquet soon enough. It’s a tragedy, no ones fault other than the bomber.

Aw, this is so sad and I wonder about being able to report this to the general population.
I doubt anyone who was directly involved or indirectly involved by being in the area, will never forget this.

My daughter was at school opposite and struggled for a long time, accessing help was difficult as she felt guilty to suggest it as she wasn't in the Arena.

Unfortunately there will be more stories if others have asked for inquests.
