Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dark and damp and rain is forecast for later.
I have a meeting on zoom about a funding bid then a walk if it’s not raining. Other than that just the usual knitting, reading etc.
I shall pin my smile on!
Stay safe everyone.

Good Morning Tuesday
(66 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but looks dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a quiet day , more sort of lockdown , see what room I can create , and sort out cupboard wise .
Besides the TV , I am yet to start watching DVD`s , or even play Cd`s at the moment as in the 1st lockdown .
See my surgery nurses wise are coming out to residental homes to the vaccination to those who need it .
Also I had a letter concerning my Glaucoma Monitoring at the Hospital in Banbury , appointment cancelled until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning everyone. I am off to a wet Manchester from an even wetter Morecambe Bay shortly for my dental appointment. I could do with a nice trip out but today’s jaunt is not quite what I have in mind. Will catch up later, take care, stay safe everyone ?
Godd morning Mick and all from Glasgow, where it's 0°C. My friend Alexa tells me we have a flood warning, so I guess we have a rainy day ahead.
Nortsat, I was going to ask you if I could accompany you. It sounds a wonderful day out!
I have a Zoom session planned today with DGD, yesterday's was exhausting, all she wanted to do was show off to her best pal, her papa! I have barred him from the procedings.?
All my lost forgotten skills have returned, from the depths of my brain and lesson plans from the depths of my PC.. Who would have thought it!!
In all the years I was teaching, DH never once offered to help me cut out resources. He spent yesterday laminating and cutting phonics and tricky words cards, because it was for his darling Dollie. ?
I don't seem to be making any progress healthwise and I have come to the conclusion that this is as good as it gets. I have to find ways to change my mood and adapt.
We watched the World's Most Scenic Railway Journeys the other night. It was set in Sicily, what a delightful programme!
Seeing Sicily was on my bucket list, including a visit to Commissario Montalbano's home. I have just ripped up that list. A trip to Glasgow is about the best I will get.
Good luck with your appointment, Kate and hugs to all who are struggling. Apologies for not being upbeat, I wasn't going to post, but that just causes even more speculation !
Good morning everyone from a dark, windy, and rainy, east coast of Fife where I’ve had such a lovely sleep.
Mind you I was so very exhausted after yesterday’s attempt at a cheeky wee dance with my dh in the morning to the proclaimers so that I could send my stroke improvements via video to our family. It’s a good incentive for me to get my exercises done.
We even went for a wee run in the car to the local beach where we saw a few soldiers congregating around in a car park. Not sure why.think I’ll rest up today. This wet weather really exhausts me I’ll be good tomorrow after my rest. It’s the usual pattern for me
Good morning Mick, morning all from dull and damp S Lanarkshire.
Not a lot happening here today, I think I’m becoming institutionalised.
I’ll do the online shopping but like others have said it’s a bit of a bore thinking about what we’re going to eat for the next week. Other than that, I’ll perhaps do a bit more work on my family tree, I’ve kept certificates attached virtually to people but I think I’ll print them and make some kind of folder for each side of my family.
Thinking of those with worries and illness, hope everyone has a peaceful day.
Good morning from a mild and wet NE.
Had to take painkillers for my post-vaccination shoulder, there is actually a bruise, hope I don't get the same woman for my next injection.
Need to get moving today and do some housework.
Good Morning. Damp and a gusty wind here in N. Bucks.
Will be emptying the back bedroom ready for decorating. One day we will have someone to stay again.
Hope to FaceTime DGS2 today and read some poems.
Not much else to report. Sorry about all the cancelled appointments .
Hope you all find a ?today.
Marydoll I just loved watching montalbano his home onntyevwatervfront looks so inviting - I wish but I can’t find the newest series is there one?
Done it again posted before I’ve previewed so sorry everyone
Good morning Mick and all from dry, cold, dull but always beautiful Anglesey.
Seems most of us are getting a bit stir crazy, aches, pains and meal planning, boredom and frustration, cancelled appointments, relationship rifts and worries. Good to be able to share on here and know we’re all in it together.
Group effort this morning to find our Scentia smile.
Take care all of you
Elizabeth, there were a couple of new episodes recently. I will ask DH, he is the expert.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast.
A Sainsbury's delivery later this morning and the fish man always calls on a Tuesday.
Little motivation for anything here, the weather isn't helping, the forecast is pretty dire until Friday.
I shall just close my eyes and imagine I'm jumping on Eurostar with * Nortstat*.
Stay safe everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very soggy South Yorkshire. Rain is in for the next couple of days and flood alerts are out in some areas. I had a very stressful day yesterday with nothing much to take my mind off it, but spent the evening watching back to back episodes of The Bay before the next series starts. I can’t remember when I’ve ever watched so much tv! Not much to do today, so I had better grit my teeth and reacquaint myself with the laptop, which has been mouldering in a cupboard since before Christmas. Now, where did I put my Dummies Guide to Windows 10?..........
Have a good day folks.
Good morning all from a ‘not much happening, weatherwise’ Essex. I like a bit of weather - not this still, grey, nothingness. All adds to the present gloom!
I’ve filled my living room with daffs, carnation, primulas and hyacinths. So lovely to have the splashes of colour.
Just done a couple of guided meditation sessions on YouTube. Deep breathing and soothing sounds - just the job! It reallly does help. ?
I think a lot of people are taking trips down ‘memory lane’ during lockdown. My two oldest school pals and I have been exchanging old photos and memories. Going through old albums and folders take you back and pass the time nicely.
I had 4 lovely long phone calls yesterday from friends and family. DH hates phone calls and can’t understand how I’m on the phone for so long. We have another quiz to mullover for the next few days. Dh’s Golf captain sets them and it’s great fun. We send them to our DS’s and a couple of pals, so we can exchange thoughts on answers that stump us.
Salmon fillets for tea . Must start healthier eating. ChristmS cake almost gone and other goodies disappearing so the new regime starts today ?.
Wishing you all a cosy, relaxed and pleasant day. ??
Wonderful cleaner is here working her magic so DH will stay in bed while she does downstairs. Bed changing day, some bill paying and admin, but not a lot to look forward to. PCC meeting on Zoom this evening is the highlight!
Still waiting to get a date for my jab but rumour has it that as our bit of the world has a lower incidence of the virus the vaccine has been diverted to areas where take up for the over 80s is low, so may have to wait. I wouldn’t mind but DH is obsessed about it and driving me mad over something I can’t do anything about.
Good morning from Staffordshire.
A dreadful drive over this morning, so much flooding on the roads. There was an accident at one point and a really brave man was standing on the verge in the pitch black before the flood waving a torch and directing us to the shallowest part of the flood. What a hero, he definitely saved more cars having accidents.I just hope the emergency services arrived soon after to take over from him.
I am sorry so many are feeling down in the dumps.
Cherry, hope you are ok.x
Good morning to you all from a wet Lueneburg. The snow has melted. Nothing apart from shopping is planned for today, I shall motivate myself to finish all the paperwork lying on the dining table. Nothing exciting is planned - how could it be. All the same I enjoy every day and look forward to reading your notes in this gentle chat. Lots of your messages make me smile. Keep well. x
Further news since my last post is that the surgery phoned at 8.15am and offered us both the jab tomorrow at 5pm. It's not at our local centre but a 20 minute drive away and at rush hour not the best time or place. However I eagerly accepted the appointments!
Other news is that DD has developed "the cough" and is going for a drive-through test this morning. DSiL is no worse, thankfully, but it was pretty obvious that she was going to catch it from him.
Sorry this is all CV related but it is our focus at present. Wish it were not so!
Good morning from the Scottish Borders. A misty moisty morning here.
To look forward to: Yoga on zoom and Gaelic homework and a dash out for a quick shop.
This lockdown feels very much the same as the whole of last year as we were shielding.
I hope I meet Scentia on my walk. How can I see your smile behind a mask?
I still have the picture of the mudlarks in my head Viridian. please don't replace it with a rat image. Nooo.
Sorry about the cancellations and the illness and pain.
My dentist seems to think I can wait until the end of Feb to have a filling replaced despite a nagging toothache.
I watched a concert from Celtic Connections last night. They did their best and it was lovely music but without applause and recorded, it just ain't the same. Last year I was there. www.celticconnections.com/
Good morning all from a wet looking Glasgow with rain forecast to look forward to.
It was DH’s. birthday yesterday. Early afternoon I called him into the kitchen for coffee, hee, hee. He got the best birthday surprise when he saw DD1 and the girls appear in the garden with his presents. It was wonderful to see each other face to face but the reality of the situation, the abnormality of not being allowed into our house, hit all of us hard. Fed up!
Oh well, must keep plodding on and look for positives whilst I search for my usual, can do attitude.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day and can find something to lift the spirits.
Good morning from S Lanarkshire where heavy rain is forecast for this afternoon, there goes my walk with local DD, she lives nearby but shifts and weather have prevented us meeting since Christmas other than a quick ‘drive by’ chat.
Zoom book club this morning, I’m quite nervous, it was my choice this month and some people can be very forthright in their opinions! I chose a (to me) uplifting allegorical tale, The Hen who dreamed She could Fly and am now just hoping everyone didn’t think What?.
Good wishes for the day everybody
Hello Mick and All from a dark and very wet Cumbrian coast. No good morning greeting today!
I ought to put a load of washing on but that means going outside to the washer in the garage and getting wet so I'll spare myself. Instead, a sort out and clean in my fridge and food cupboards then a day of indulgence ....reading, colouring, brain-training, meditation. No shortage of nice things to do but I'd really like to get out and meet actual people, as would we all I guess...and I'm putting that thought aside for the day as it's not a good one. Wishing you all a contented day instead.
Good morning from a breezy but milder Colchester.
Walk to the post box and Lidl ( I didn't go yesterday) today.
More paperwork to read and sign for our house sale. Good job I'm on the ball as the solicitor is trying to bill is for work they aren't doing.
Much love to all x
Good morning from a very soggy but milder South Yorkshire. There are flood alerts for some areas nearby, with people being issued with sandbags. It's only a year ago that these same areas were flooded, with homes deluged, and it's looking as if the same fate is a strong possibility yet again (and some of those families are still not back in their homes from last years flooding). It's heartbreaking.
What a lovely surprise for your DH, yesterday, Kalu. Yes, is sad that your family couldn't come indoors - it's so hard, isn't it? Hopefully it won't be too much longer before they can come in.
Sorry to hear that your DD has developed 'the cough'. Thank goodness your DSiL is no worse.
Well, that's it from me today. Take care.
