Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but looks dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a quiet day , more sort of lockdown , see what room I can create , and sort out cupboard wise .
Besides the TV , I am yet to start watching DVD`s , or even play Cd`s at the moment as in the 1st lockdown .
See my surgery nurses wise are coming out to residental homes to the vaccination to those who need it .
Also I had a letter concerning my Glaucoma Monitoring at the Hospital in Banbury , appointment cancelled until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a ‘not much happening, weatherwise’ Essex. I like a bit of weather - not this still, grey, nothingness. All adds to the present gloom!

I’ve filled my living room with daffs, carnation, primulas and hyacinths. So lovely to have the splashes of colour.

Just done a couple of guided meditation sessions on YouTube. Deep breathing and soothing sounds - just the job! It reallly does help. ?

I think a lot of people are taking trips down ‘memory lane’ during lockdown. My two oldest school pals and I have been exchanging old photos and memories. Going through old albums and folders take you back and pass the time nicely.

I had 4 lovely long phone calls yesterday from friends and family. DH hates phone calls and can’t understand how I’m on the phone for so long. We have another quiz to mullover for the next few days. Dh’s Golf captain sets them and it’s great fun. We send them to our DS’s and a couple of pals, so we can exchange thoughts on answers that stump us.

Salmon fillets for tea . Must start healthier eating. ChristmS cake almost gone and other goodies disappearing so the new regime starts today ?.

Wishing you all a cosy, relaxed and pleasant day. ??

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very soggy South Yorkshire. Rain is in for the next couple of days and flood alerts are out in some areas. I had a very stressful day yesterday with nothing much to take my mind off it, but spent the evening watching back to back episodes of The Bay before the next series starts. I can’t remember when I’ve ever watched so much tv! Not much to do today, so I had better grit my teeth and reacquaint myself with the laptop, which has been mouldering in a cupboard since before Christmas. Now, where did I put my Dummies Guide to Windows 10?..........
Have a good day folks.

Good morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast.
A Sainsbury's delivery later this morning and the fish man always calls on a Tuesday.
Little motivation for anything here, the weather isn't helping, the forecast is pretty dire until Friday.
I shall just close my eyes and imagine I'm jumping on Eurostar with * Nortstat*.
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Marydoll Tue 19-Jan-21 08:37:11

Elizabeth, there were a couple of new episodes recently. I will ask DH, he is the expert.

LauraNorder Tue 19-Jan-21 08:36:51

Good morning Mick and all from dry, cold, dull but always beautiful Anglesey.
Seems most of us are getting a bit stir crazy, aches, pains and meal planning, boredom and frustration, cancelled appointments, relationship rifts and worries. Good to be able to share on here and know we’re all in it together.
Group effort this morning to find our Scentia smile.
Take care all of you

Elizabeth1 Tue 19-Jan-21 08:34:39

Good Morning. Damp and a gusty wind here in N. Bucks.

Will be emptying the back bedroom ready for decorating. One day we will have someone to stay again.

Hope to FaceTime DGS2 today and read some poems.

Not much else to report. Sorry about all the cancelled appointments .

Hope you all find a ?today.

harrigran Tue 19-Jan-21 08:30:56

Good morning from a mild and wet NE.
Had to take painkillers for my post-vaccination shoulder, there is actually a bruise, hope I don't get the same woman for my next injection.
Need to get moving today and do some housework.

baubles Tue 19-Jan-21 08:30:31

Good morning Mick, morning all from dull and damp S Lanarkshire.

Not a lot happening here today, I think I’m becoming institutionalised.
I’ll do the online shopping but like others have said it’s a bit of a bore thinking about what we’re going to eat for the next week. Other than that, I’ll perhaps do a bit more work on my family tree, I’ve kept certificates attached virtually to people but I think I’ll print them and make some kind of folder for each side of my family.

Thinking of those with worries and illness, hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Elizabeth1 Tue 19-Jan-21 08:29:29

Good morning everyone from a dark, windy, and rainy, east coast of Fife where I’ve had such a lovely sleep.

Mind you I was so very exhausted after yesterday’s attempt at a cheeky wee dance with my dh in the morning to the proclaimers so that I could send my stroke improvements via video to our family. It’s a good incentive for me to get my exercises done.

We even went for a wee run in the car to the local beach where we saw a few soldiers congregating around in a car park. Not sure why.think I’ll rest up today. This wet weather really exhausts me I’ll be good tomorrow after my rest. It’s the usual pattern for me

Marydoll Tue 19-Jan-21 08:28:06

Godd morning Mick and all from Glasgow, where it's 0°C. My friend Alexa tells me we have a flood warning, so I guess we have a rainy day ahead.
Nortsat, I was going to ask you if I could accompany you. It sounds a wonderful day out!

I have a Zoom session planned today with DGD, yesterday's was exhausting, all she wanted to do was show off to her best pal, her papa! I have barred him from the procedings.?
All my lost forgotten skills have returned, from the depths of my brain and lesson plans from the depths of my PC.. Who would have thought it!!
In all the years I was teaching, DH never once offered to help me cut out resources. He spent yesterday laminating and cutting phonics and tricky words cards, because it was for his darling Dollie. ?

I don't seem to be making any progress healthwise and I have come to the conclusion that this is as good as it gets. I have to find ways to change my mood and adapt.

We watched the World's Most Scenic Railway Journeys the other night. It was set in Sicily, what a delightful programme!
Seeing Sicily was on my bucket list, including a visit to Commissario Montalbano's home. I have just ripped up that list. A trip to Glasgow is about the best I will get.

Good luck with your appointment, Kate and hugs to all who are struggling. Apologies for not being upbeat, I wasn't going to post, but that just causes even more speculation !

Gelisajams Tue 19-Jan-21 08:26:16

Good morning everyone. I am off to a wet Manchester from an even wetter Morecambe Bay shortly for my dental appointment. I could do with a nice trip out but today’s jaunt is not quite what I have in mind. Will catch up later, take care, stay safe everyone ?

Alygran Tue 19-Jan-21 08:22:42

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dark and damp and rain is forecast for later.
I have a meeting on zoom about a funding bid then a walk if it’s not raining. Other than that just the usual knitting, reading etc.
I shall pin my smile on!
Stay safe everyone.

Auntieflo Tue 19-Jan-21 08:21:32

Good morning Mick,Annie and all. It is dull here, but not raining. The bin men have been, and I have just drunk my first cup of tea, ?, but I must get up smartly, as I have blood tests this morning.
I shall leave DH to strip the bed, and try and put on the new sheets! Since we had our new mattress, the old fitted sheets are not deep enough, so I ordered extra deep ones.
I shall join the others, pinning on one of Scentia's smiles. I felt gloomy on Sunday evening, and we had a 'quiet' day yesterday with me being a moody so and so.
Nothing exciting to report back on, so I shall leave you and go and get myself ready for the practice nurse to relieve me of several phials of the red stuff.

To all who are finding life difficult and samey and boring, chin up, we have done this for nearly a year, we can do it, all together, for a bit longer. ?
(Good job I previewed, raining was ranting.)

NannyJan53 Tue 19-Jan-21 08:13:39

Good Morning from a drizzly Black Country.

More stripping off of wallpaper in Living room yesterday, that was the days excitement!

MrJan went to Opticians regarding new lens in his glasses following his Cataract Op. Seems it is cheaper to have totally new glasses that just one lens in his current glasses!!

Ashcombe my date too has moved on the vaccine calculator. A whole month earlier. Lets hope it happens. I should have the second one by end of May.

Not much planned today. It really is getting harder to be enthusiastic about anything at the moment.

It is MrJans 70th on 7th February, trying to work out a special meal I can cook on that day. We would have had a big family get together, so need to make it a little bit special for him. He is really not bothered though. I don't think he is too excited about being 70 smile

Hope your appointment goes well NanKate and wishing you all a good and safe day.

cornergran Tue 19-Jan-21 08:11:37

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp and windy corner of Somerset. Yesterday’s knee injection didn’t happen. It seems contra indicated close to covid vaccination which the physios was convinced would be along soon for me. Hope she’s right. All was not lost as she focused on my spine instead, really useful time with her resulting in another MRI and onward referral to a consultant. She will be my contact going forward. Feel very fortunate.

Oh yes, the daily ‘what will we have to eat’ decision. Mr C always says he doesn’t mind, one day it will be dry bread! There will be a large pot of chilli on the go here today. Several portions for the freezer.

I’ve a list of minor matters outstanding to get through this morning, Mr C plans to attack a job in the kitchen that involves removing the dishwasher. Good idea? Time will tell grin.

Look after yourselves everyone, hope there’s a reason to smile for us all.

Viridian Tue 19-Jan-21 08:09:09

Morning everyone from a no-idea-what-the-weather-is south Cornwall. Probably damp and mild. Will look out later.

Mick, my first Parsley Box arrived yesterday. Have eaten a lamb hotpot, very tasty and home-made, and so easy to store. I sound like an advert!

The rat man returneth today to check his dastardly work. My neighbour and I, with identical flats above two shops, have finally managed one giggle about it. I convinced myself the creatures were above my kitchen too, but turned out it was my fridge clicking. Ditto my neighbour with her boiler. They'll be coming to take us away ha ha.

Am making a big comfy cushion for my new chair/chaise longue thingy, from the rest of my pile of denim jeans. Apart from that I may beachcomb, but then I may not!

Have the best day you can all of you.

Grandmabatty Tue 19-Jan-21 08:08:13

Good morning all. There's fog and low cloud in Polmont so I think it'll be a grey day. Could be proved wrong though! I've woken up with a headache so I'll have to take something as today is another babysitting day. I take umpteen tablets but I hate taking painkillers. Nothing planned. Maybe a walk to the swings. I'm feeling a bit lethargic but a two year old will get me moving. Have a good day all.

dragonfly46 Tue 19-Jan-21 08:05:56

Good morning, no lovely cloud colours this morning in Leicestershire.

I have a counselling session this afternoon as I have arrived at the top of the list. Feeling quite apprehensive.

Bellasnana Tue 19-Jan-21 07:57:09

Good morning from Malta where it is a very chilly 9°C, but sunny.

I’ve nothing useful to contribute so will just wish you all as good a day as possible with special thoughts to those of you who are feeling fed up or unwell.

Stay safe.?☀️

Jaxjacky Tue 19-Jan-21 07:56:21

Good morning all from a damp, mild S Hants. Long chat on the phone with a friend yesterday which was cheering. Another friend told me she will be marshalling at our local Covid vaccine hub on Friday. We too have rain coming in later, tomorrow is to be very windy as well. No other plans, same old!
Have a gentle day all.

Sparklefizz Tue 19-Jan-21 07:54:31

Morning Mick and all GNs from a dark and very wet South Glos.

A nice delivery from Sainsbury's to look forward to this morning. I never thought I would have such fond thoughts of a supermarket smile back in those happy days when food shopping was just a speedy necessity in between doing fun things like painting with my art group or singing in the choir.

Good luck to NanKate and all others with medical appointments looming..... or even better, with the prospect of having the vac.

I'm sorry to hear about the upset with your daughter Beauregard. It's so easy to find ourselves dwelling on things when we don't have much distraction. I hope it soon settles between you. flowers

Thoughts to all who are stressed or poorly. x

NanKate Tue 19-Jan-21 07:42:15

Morning Mick and All.

Grey damp day in prospect here in South Bucks.

Well Nortsat your day out sounds just up my street, however I will be toddling along to Windsor to see my Endocrinologist about my thyroid. I’m surprised he hasn’t cancelled any of my appointments.

Gagagran I’m with you on planning meals being an absolute bore. What I really want is a visit to our brilliant local Italian cafe where I would have a glass of chilled white wine, a toasted panini filled with mixed veg and mozzarella, finishing with a strong cappuccino and quietly playing jazz in the background. Happy days.
