Plasters that actually stick - I have to plaster small cuts on my hands caused by eczema and they fall off the first time I wash my hands. Grrr!

What do you wish someone would invent?..........

When I was a girl I invented (in my head) the see through plastic umbrella. I was annoyed when many years later I saw people with these umbrellas. I later entered a competition to invent something and invented a double umbrella for 2 people walking side by side. Lo and behold that idea was pinched but it never caught on as it was too difficult to fold. I must have a thing about umbrellas. I would like a proper double umbrella to be invented.

A nice cute little robot that will do all the housework.

Indestructible rubber gloves - mine seem to develop a leak incredibly quickly.
Device that will open any kind of bottle. With arthritic hands and a poor grip the caps that have to be squeezed between two fingers whilst twisting the whole thing at the same time are a nightmare.
And I was given a mini bottle of Prosecco at Christmas which has this smooth plastic "cork", which I just cannot budge!
Think I own every opening aid known to man or woman . I live on my own so often get very frustrated when I can't open something and there's no one to help.

Come to think of it, I suppose the answer is to find another husband, but that is definitely a step too far!!

Thanks very much Elegran, they look good, I’m going to give it a try for my bedroom window. I’ve tried the stick on ones they sometimes have in Aldi, but they aren’t strong enough to stay stuck to the frames - these look so much better!

As mentioned by Ayse, the old stretchy ones on a reel were brilliant. Unfortunately, they changed the formula and now they don't work.

Something to wipe out all the plastic clogging up our world without leaving anything behind & also something to wipe out the rotten virus so that we can all stop living in fear, or in prison like so many of us old & alone please?

You can still get the old rolls of elastoplast that don't have a dressing on the inside. I guarantee they stick. So I find does micropore tape used over a gauze dressing.

Inventions:
doll sized pins for use when making dolls' clothes
bathroom cleaner that actually removes lime scale

So many things, but last night I wanted separate wireless headphones so that DH and I could watch the same programme on TV at different volume levels, he has it on so loud......

A full body hot air drier. Like the hands one. So that when I step out of the shower I can be dried by nice warm air rather than a scratchy towel. And they would be really great at swimming baths. I don't know if I get more wet when swimming, but I find it so hard to get properly dry afterwards.

Not beyond the scope of the car industry I'm sure, I would like someone to invent a sensor on the back of cars, which then links to a message flashing up 'Tailgater' in the rear view mirror, when some twonk is trying to drive in the boot of my car!

... a machine that straps to your jaw and moves your mouth up and down, enabling you to chew and swallow your food, when you are hungry, but too tired to eat!

00mam00 Thu 21-Jan-21 11:35:55

A pill that will get rid of scabby warts, they are a plague slowly creeping all over me.

Sickofweddingcake Thu 21-Jan-21 11:37:09

When I was little, about nine years old, I explained an invention that I had in mind to my Mum. I said: 'It's to clean the venetian blinds... it's like a glove with cleaning fingers on, so that you can clean them quicker than individually'. I had thought of it because it was my job to do them and I was sick of getting paper cuts from them. She said: ' Sick, they have been out for years!' I was gutted...

I would like someone to invent a chip for dogs which incorporates a tracker,so all the dogs who get lost or stolen could be tracked easily,
So many being stolen, and some not even chipped, even though it's the law now

I wish someone would invent a mirror that reflects how old
I feel on the inside, rather than the way I look on the outside ...

A ‘pill pusher out gadget’ please. I have arthritis in my hands and especially my thumbs. Very painful. Once a month I sort my many prescription pills into pill boxes. 15 each day. Some sort of gadget to push out these pills would be great.

Lesley60 Thu 21-Jan-21 12:09:23

A tablet that melts excess fat off your body

nannypiano Thu 21-Jan-21 12:24:15

I wish there were plasters that were easier to get out of the wrappings. By the time I get one out I could have bled to death, well almost.

sodapop Thu 21-Jan-21 12:25:45

I'd go for that Lesley60 smile

Scentia Thu 21-Jan-21 12:28:47

Luckygirl Try something called Mepore available on amazon, this is what I use on my splits in my hands and even though I wash my hands and they get wet they don't fall off.

Quilty Thu 21-Jan-21 12:29:15

Merlotgran.....use deorators masking tape instead of freezer labels. Does the job....and is cheaper.
What about a clothes line that automatically raises a cover if (or should I say when) it starts to rain.

Elegran Thu 21-Jan-21 12:43:22

Lucy127 I sort out my pills into one of those every two weeks. My thumbnails were breaking so now I use the handle of a teaspoon to push the pills out of the foil bubbles. The stubborn ones get the pointy tip of the spoon first to cut the foil.

Charleygirl5 Thu 21-Jan-21 12:48:03

A gadget to change my bedding weekly. I struggle with a king size duvet cover and it takes me ages doing a simple task of bed changing.

Tiker47 Thu 21-Jan-21 12:53:07

I wish someone would invent an anti-Boris vaccine.

GillT57 Thu 21-Jan-21 12:57:01

I would like some sort of pill which calculated how many calories I actually needed and then somehow vapourised the excess I had consumed.
