Hello Argies, regulars and newcomers, after meeting Moneybags Mike this evening we have another year’s lease on the bar ( £8/10/6d! Daylight robbery)
Drop in here anytime for a chat, banter and a drink or three.
Every Friday is a ‘theme nite’ there may be a raffle and there is always humour along with strong poteen.

Flora please don’t wear Vlad out before Friday. We want him to do the driving. He won’t be much use if he can’t see straight. ?

grandmajet Mon 22-Feb-21 22:31:49

Great idea! I can always sit on the roof rack, I love the wind in my hair! Although, not the flies in my eyes.

Doodle Mon 22-Feb-21 22:39:38

Get him to take his trousers off first grandmajet

Ooh a charrabang trip to the seaside.....do I still need to go as Lady Godiva...could be handy for skinny dipping but a tad cold.
Dodgy Dan sounds my type of man....maybe I can do a bit of bartering...a snog, a quick flash and a fiver would leave us some ice cream money. Floosie Flora can keep Vlad ?

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 00:21:38

Can we go to Flirty Fred’s Fantastic Funfair? He and I go back a long way. His donuts are beautiful, ?? , and as for his hot dogs .........
I’m sure a flash of Doodle’s best bloomers would get us a go on the ghost train.

Happyme Tue 23-Feb-21 00:31:33

Best make sure she wears some grandmajet........there again we might get two free goes

ixion Tue 23-Feb-21 09:11:41

Seaside for me, please!
?Stroll along the prom, prom, prom?
Sun, sea, - Sarfend? ???

^?Cockles, and mussels, alive, alive-o?
(Geography a little rusty, apols)

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 12:36:21

Wonderful, ixion.
Flirty Fred’s latest amazing venture is in Sarfend!
We’re all going on a Summer Holiday!
I can bring my itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini.

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 16:02:59

Make sure you don't wet your bloomers when you paddle.

Seaside in February. What a good idea! I will take up quite a lot of room on the coach in my Elizabeth 1 outfit.

Does Sarfend have a pier? We can take the llamas for a stroll and eat chips.

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 16:05:51

We could do llama rides on the beach. Make enough money for a kebab on the way home.

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 16:08:04

ixion you are in fine voice so can get the singing going on the way back when we are all drunk tired.

Doodle and Happyme no picking up stray males on the prom and bringing them back on the coach. I remember last time when we had to give them their bus fare to get back home. When you had finished with them of course.

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 16:09:44

Good idea grandmajet. Just hope Gnasher behaves himself.

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 16:15:13

Remember to bring all your spare ha’pennies for the arcade.

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 16:15:53

I’m so excited now I’m glad I have my fluorescent waterproof hotpants on!

Does Sarfend have a pier?
(Rolls eyes heavenwards)
Does night follow day?

Only the longest pier in the whole wide world, AGA

Let's hope none of our fellow GNetters from that neck of the woods is reading this*. That's our hope of an invite for afternoon tea down the pan.

*
Poster's note: extremely unlikely IMHO

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 16:44:28

Ah you mean Southend ixion. They may not know they are Sarfend?

ixion Tue 23-Feb-21 16:56:29

Oops, bit of a slip there, AGA.
As kids, we always used to go dahn Sarfend.
Many still do.

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 17:03:15

Sorry ixion as a northerner living in Wales I have to admit to never having been to Southend or Sarfend.
It sounds good for our trip though and I will check out the long pier wearing my best bloomers. I think that information about the longest pier was stored in the deepest recesses of my brain.

ixion Tue 23-Feb-21 17:14:32

Nah, no worries.
Sometimes in my efforts to speak prawperly or naicely as my mama wanted, I do tend to lapse into the vernacular, à la Eliza Doolittle.
Still, enough about me.
Would you prefer it if we went to Blackpool? I'd be happy anywhere after a few pints and a good old singsong.

AGAA4 Tue 23-Feb-21 17:20:38

Sarfend is fine by me. Not keen on Blackpool. Too many riotous hen parties. Not for the refined staff at the Argy but I may buy a "kiss me quick" hat.

grandmajet Tue 23-Feb-21 17:25:53

????⛱ ???????????????????

ixion Tue 23-Feb-21 17:28:01

Crikey grandmajet. I see you've got your day planned already.

Doodle Tue 23-Feb-21 20:18:46

As we all seem up for this trip to Sarfend (I knew where you meant Ixion) I think we should postpone famous women night for another time. I’m not sure me dressed as Boudicca riding a chariot pulled by 4 llamas dashing along the pier would be a good thing.
I’d love a go at the funfair but not if flirty Fred is dishing up poo disguised as donuts (note to self, investigate this as a possibility for the Argy ?)
I will wear my very best lime green bloomers. Don’t want any wind in the willows on the ghost train ride.
Bags I get Thor for the Tunnel of Love ?????????
Can’t wait till Friday.

grandmajet Wed 24-Feb-21 13:07:27

Shall I make some egg sandwiches for the journey today, so they have time to ripen nicely by Friday?
