Good morning all.
A message from the dark side!
MawB has managed to get a message through confirming that Mick is well and will be back asap.
Hello all, just adding to the good wishes for Mick
Stay as safe as you can everyone.
Good morning from a bright and breezy West Sussex-by-the-sea. Walk along the seashore yesterday was lovely even though it was damp and grey. It’s good when the tide is out and there is plenty of space to distance from all the other strollers and dog walkers.
Hope Mick is ok. Just heard that 2 year old DGD has been collected from nursery as a child in her bubble has tested positive. DGD was feverish at weekend and had a test but it came back negative. It’s so hard to test a 2 year old. So maybe she has COVID in which case DD and DSiL and 5 year old DGD are all likely to be infected. So worrying.
Marydoll your friend’s situation is unbearable. I hope they can feel the prayers and thoughts of your friends on GN ?
I nearly forgot to light my Holocaust Memorial Day ? but remembered about twenty past eight. Probably no-one to see it in our little enclave but good to feel connected with others doing the same.
??? for all on here with illness and worries today.
Good Morning All x.
Dull and damp but at least it's given off raining !
Mick--hope all is well with you. You're missed !
I had to get myself organised this morning awaiting two phone-calls while getting ready to go to the surgery for my INR and hoping that the calls wouldn't happen just as I was leaving.
First call would have been my support--who didn't ring at around her time of 8am, then a possible call from Oz that had been missed because D wasn't in, so I was on pins.
Anyway, neither call came about so I trotted off to the surgery.
INR was fine, but I had to also have my yearly tests while I was there---3 bloods, weighing and blood-pressure.
BP was high, which I thought it would be because I wasn't relaxed ( never am ) weight has been the same for years, no lower, no higher. But why won't my mind behave itself ?? As a consequence I now have to take my BP 2 or 3 times a week until my next INR in April to make sure it's nothing more than tension.
I was about an hour away altogether and nobody had phoned. Slightly worried about the support girl who's pregnant and had a niggling problem on Monday, so will phone her later. Hope things are alright with her.
Then decided to ring D at 10am our time--9pm Sydney time and wish her a happy Birthday from yesterday. She's known I'd rang yesterday but was out with friends and family so anyway we had a good catch up and the family are all going to Hunter Valley for the weekend, leaving tomorrow. The wine-growing area. I asked her if she was staying at the distillery
Her flowers were beautiful, she said and will be sending me pics of them so I'm glad about that. It's always good to know when you've paid good money that they turn out as well as the picture/ information says.
Thinking of your friend's DD Marydoll, such a worry but I hope she gets on alright. x So many worries and problems to overcome with nearly everyone and little you can do to help except to send good wishes and get well soon to those who are suffering.
xx
Sending thoughts to Gilly in the hope that things will pick up for her and her family x
Take care and stay safe everyone else and Mick xx
A late good morning from north Surrey where the sun is now shining after a misty, drizzly start to the day.
I do also hope all is well with Mick
Busy start to the day with getting DGSs up and ready for school, I prefer to walk rather than drive if the weather is fine. Then had the Tesco shop which seemed to take an age as there were a few things I struggled to find.
Home now and time to put my feet up before school collection which seems to come round so quickly
So many with worries on here at the moment, thoughts are with you and for friends and family
Good morning to Mick wherever you are this morning, hope all is well and that you’ll pop on to reassure us all as soon as you can.
Good morning to all from dry grey Anglesey. So many unwell or anxious today. So many with family worries. I do hope things get better for all very soon.
Special prayers for your friend’s daughter and her baby Marydoll, such a sad situation.
Hope everyone’s appointments and vaccinations go well.
Lovely Sars to know we have a gran who is still in the honeymoon period ?. Enjoy your anniversary.
Scentia How interesting! You did well to get that far back.
I've always loved that poem.
Marydoll. I must have had my head in the sand but I wasn't aware there was another poster in Harrogate?
Mara, unfortunately that kind Gransnetetr is no longer able to post. sad
I'm sure the other poster in Harrogate, may be able to check.
Please enlighten me, how do I check?
Good morning from a freezing north of Scotland where a few snowflakes are drifting lazily down but we expect real flurries son. When I went for a walk yesterday every footstep crunched loudly as the snow is very crisp.
marydoll. My heart is sore for your friend’ granddaughter. We have to believe in the power of prayer for her and I shall be praying for improvement.
ashcombe. Glad to hear your migraine has in improved. I am very aware of the triggers but cannot always avoid them so I do sympathise.
Mick. Good wishes. You are missed.
The sewing machine is ready and waiting so I am off to do something constructive.
Good morning everyone from a grey but dry Gower. It lashed it down here last night too Lins.
Thanks for opening up Marydoll and you too Kitty.
I hope Mick is okay and it is just internet issues he has.
I had another bad night, this time caused by my neighbour ?. It's hard to know what to do when there's all sorts of noises coming from her house at night as she is dissociative. Social services don't seem to be any use. There seems to be so little support for her. Her ex is useless as he's only interested in the children. I've tried to reach out to her but according to her me and my WP are people from the morgue
Thinking of your DDs Sar and Scentia
. I hope you still manage to celebrate your anniversary Sar ???. I will keep your friend's daughter in my thoughts and send positive vibes Marydoll.
GrannyGravy, I hope you haven't put it off until tomorrow, ring your Dr today!
A virtual ? for you Susan, try to keep your chin up x
It's wonderful to hear that so many of you have had the covid vaccine now or have been given appointment dates. It very much a go slow here in Wales ? but I don't envy any of you much ?, my turn will come - I just wish it would come quicker ?
Stay safe everyone and be kind to yourselves ❤️
Good morning all. Heavy rain here, but I have plenty to keep me occupied. It may ease off in time for an afternoon walk, I am missing the outdoors so much.
Good Morning all from soggy, wet, chilly Harrogate
Hope you are OK Mick?
Thank you Marydoll for stepping in.
Had my Sainsbury's shopping delivered at 8 am, so here I am, showered and breakfasted and enjoying my coffee!
Wish I could help my DD1, heard in her voice when she called yesterday, her nearly 5 year old is being quite stroppy about zoom schooling, my daughter feels she is failing. I have tried telling her, the little girls is very intelligent and will pick it all up once normality resumes.
DD2 doesn't have quite the same problem, 'cause Elijah's dad has him for some of the week (he wanted DD to have an abortion when she found out she was pregnant, then has taken her to court so he can have custody!!!)
To those who are not well, please get better - we miss you! Keep safe the rest of you.
Good morning from a very wet West York's .hope Mick is ok . I had a horrible evening with indigestion /heartburn which wouldn't shift I do get it occasionally I have a hiatus hernia I do have the tabs but it just wouldn't shift sorry I have wittered on !! When others have horrible worries .Mary doll hope your friend gets better news .?to all feeling poorly or just out of sorts .
Good morning Marydoll and everyone and I hope Mick is ok and that it is just IT problems keeping him from starting the thread.
I just commented to DH that it's a lovely day and perhaps we could go out for a walk when he asked if I'd looked out of the back window- it's looking rather black over Bill's mother's!
My appointment came for my jab vaccination and it says 'bring some ID'. My ID photos are all a few years old and I commented that I looked much younger in the photos, hope they recognise me. DH said, kindly, 'you don't look any older, dear' and I said 'thank you'.
He then spoilt it by saying 'but your hair looks like a haystack now'.
Grannygravy I hope you get some medication today which works. And to everyone else who is under the weather for whatever reason, my best wishes.
Marydoll I'm sorry to hear about your friend's granddaughter and her difficulties.
And ? your appointment goes well tomorrow, when I had a hospital appointment before Christmas, it felt perfectly safe, they had taken all precautions.
Best wishes to Mick and absent friends
I often think of gillybob and wonder how she is faring.
Good morning all from a grey and miserable-looking Angus coast. I hope all is well with you Mick and you'll be back opening again tomorrow. Thank you to today's openers. Marydoll I feel heart-sick for your friend's DGD and baby. It's such a worrying time for young mums, who worry in the best of times. My love goes out to all?
There seems to be a lot of illness and problems amongst us just now - January laced with Covid worries does not make for happy times. So it's lovely to hear it's your wedding anniversary Sar - Congratulations! Enjoy the day and the wine. Also good to hear of all the up-and-coming vaccinations. I have mine tomorrow too - much sooner than I expected. Ash so glad your migraine has gone and you were able to enjoy your Zoom session in the evening. There's nothing exciting planned here at the blacksmith's cottage - now there's a surprise! I'm trying to re-educate my body to stay awake during the day and sleep at night as it seems to have got things the wrong way round lately.
Someone mentioned "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse". I too was given it as a gift recently - I keep it by me and open it at random to find more lovely words of encouragement and wisdom. Just now - "Everyone is a bit scared" said the horse. "But we are less scared together".
Have the best day you can everyone and may your ailments and fears become more bearable. ????
Good morning everyone and a special hello to Mick hope everything is ok and it is just the internet playing up.
I have to set up an Echo speaker for my bubble neighbour today which could be fun as she doesnt have a smartphone. I hope it will be good for her as she is partially sighted and struggles with things, so giving Alexa orders should work out well!
Didn't get round to the admin yesterday so must get sorted today!
Your poor friend Marydoll I hope her daughter and unborn baby pull through.
Stay safe all.
Good morning all from Derbyshire where the rain has stopped and the sun is trying to put in an appearance.
I looked in earlier before shopping and was concerned that Micks lovely thread hadn't been started. Hope you're ok Mick.
We still have problems with the water at the yard. I'm hoping that it's still thawing out and will come through soon and that it's not caused by something else.
Happy anniversary Sar, hope DD's operation goes well. Also hope GrannyGravy feels better, and anyone else feeling under the weather
Thinking of your friends granddaughter Marydoll.
Almost time for popmaster.
Have a good day all.
Good mornin all, sunshine again. Oh, the sunshine has just disappeared.
I just quickly popped in to say that I hope Mick is well. I am on my way to see my Physiotherapist in Lueneburg. I shall go on the bus. Usually not more than 2 or 3 people on the bus, as most shops (apart from essential shops) are closed in town.
Have a good day all and take care. x
EkwaNimitee Robert Herrick is one of my ancestors I discovered when doing a family tree!!
Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is grey and drizzling.
Today is what I call a bitty day; a bit of this and a bit of that. Have a new jigsaw puzzle to start and can barely contain my excitement!
DH has had the call and is getting his vaccine on Saturday; because I am considerably younger - all of four and a half years - I won’t be getting the summons for a while. Our local GP surgery have all worked flat out to get the vaccine to us all.
Will say a little prayer for Marydoll’s friend’s grandaughter and for Sars and Scentia’s DDs.
Hope those struggling with illnesses and injuries start to recover. Hope Grandmafrench is able to post an update on how things are going.
Have as good a day as possible. Stay safe
Good morning from Durham. It’s very wet and we can expect this all day and tomorrow too.
Walked with old friend yesterday and we managed to sort out World problems - if only. Hope DH gets his vaccine letter soon.
Another belly button day today other than a trip to Sainsbury’s, if I can get my a**e into gear.
Hope our missing posters are ok. Stay safe everyone. X
Morning all I don't usually post early either but always read the mornings thread. Micks an inspiration always up so early hope he is ok.
I don't tend to sleep so well and last night it was torrential rain until about four thirty here on Merseyside. Have a healthy trouble free day everyone.
Marydoll
*Mara*, unfortunately that kind Gransnetetr is no longer able to post.
I'm sure the other poster in Harrogate, may be able to check.
Ah, ok, thanks, Marydoll. Sorry to hear about that poster, hope she’s not unwell
Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay. At least it’s a bit warmer. Thank you for the compliments regarding my hair yesterday. It does grow very fast and it’s very thick, which means I’m never away from the hairdressers if I have it short. DG was born with 3 inch long hair. Everyone said she would lose it but she didn’t. It just grew...and grew.. Now she’s 4 and she can sit on it and yes she has had it trimmed!
Lots of worries still in so many different ways. ?Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning to an absent Mick - hope you're ok - and all, from a soggy, mild south Cornwall. Am praying for baby and mum, Marydoll.
Have the best day you can, everyone.
