How many of you stay in your PJ's for the day?

Sometimes i do, but its not usually my style smile

Americanpie Fri 29-Jan-21 10:26:31

No never. I always get up and have my first coffee or tea whilst wearing my dressing gown but then always get dressed and do my makeup etc. Doing this is a really positive ritual that makes me feel good.

No, I don’t. It’s yoga pants and a vest top while I do my exercises, then it depends what I’m doing for the day.

If others want to that’s up to them.

Missfoodlove Fri 29-Jan-21 10:32:09

I have tried but just cannot do it!
I know nobody will come to the door but it just feels wrong.

dolphindaisy Fri 29-Jan-21 10:35:04

Never - I always have breakfast in my dressing gown but would hate to sit around in nightclothes all day, I would find it depressing. I need to get washed and dressed for my own wellbeing (but haven't worn the cocktail dresses much lately)

RosesAreRed21 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:37:24

No never the only time I would is when I would be that poorly that I cant get out of bed but apart from that will always get dressed.

mrsgreenfingers56 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:38:41

No, never unless I have been ill. I can still hear my late father saying to me and my sisters when we got up without getting dressed "Stop slopping about in your dressing gowns". So up for a cuppa, breakfast, shower and dress and make up. But each to their own as they say.

Rosalyn69 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:41:23

I love wearing PJs all day but it’s on rare occasions. I fear it could become a downward spiral.

harrigran Fri 29-Jan-21 10:42:04

Only if I am ill otherwise get properly dressed.

Craftycat Fri 29-Jan-21 10:44:59

I wish I could bring myself to stay in 'snuggies' as we call them but I can't. I often have to go to the door for postman etc. & I'd feel awful. Plus I am trying to get a daily walk in ( not today- it is teeming down & all the cats are snuggled on beds & blankets around the house. Cats are so sensible.
I confess the PJs go on about 4pm though!

mothertrucker52 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:49:44

No, I would freeze to death, I'm currently wearing a t-shirt, thermal vest, long- sleeved top, fleecy jumper, lumberjack shirt, jeans and ug boots - in my living room!

Moggycuddler Fri 29-Jan-21 10:52:12

Only when I don't feel well. Otherwise I get up and shower and change every day. I think it's important to avoid sliding into bad ways that can lead to depression, and I do it for the family too. I do sometimes change into a nightie and dressing gown after our evening meal, to relax for the rest of the evening. Maybe if I lived alone I might feel a bit differently, it wouldn't seem to matter as much.

annifrance Fri 29-Jan-21 10:54:17

Hopeless in the mornings, but always dressed by lunch time. midday here and about to get dressed!

Lilyflower Fri 29-Jan-21 10:54:58

I might sometimes do some chores like ironing or Hoovering in my PJ's but then I get up properly, wash and blow dry my hair, put on clean, pressed clothes, add some jewellery and then, with my armour on, I can face the rest of the day. I have a to-do list, go for a walk or walks, read my book and have meals at set times.

I find having structure, routine and high standards gives some sort of shape and meaning to my life even in these dull, locked up times.

Florida12 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:56:47

Never, even in hospital I have to get dressed.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 29-Jan-21 10:58:35

Definitely not! But I do tend to wear old clothes, keep the better ones for when we can socialise

Gingergirl Fri 29-Jan-21 10:59:42

If I’m wearing ‘nice’ and comfy ones, I do occasionally. If it’s a wet, dark, winters day and I’m not doing anything special, I find it comforting-and then the next day I’m more than ready for some ‘proper’ clothes.

Georgesgran Fri 29-Jan-21 11:01:51

I’m just not comfortable staying in night wear any longer than necessary. However, I’ve kept an ad for a long sleeved, zipped through kaftan and think I’ll send for one to sit around in at night.

Daffydilly Fri 29-Jan-21 11:03:44

I've been off sick from work since December and expect to be for a few months yet (surgery for cancer and chemo). I make sure I get dressed every day, usually mid morning after breakfast. I don't want to get into the habit of slobbing around in PJs all day, nice as it is,sometimes.

I don't always put make up on but then I only really wear mascara and light foundation anyway.

Alioop Fri 29-Jan-21 11:06:20

I did last week as I wasn't feeling great with an infection and they kept me warmer than my leggings that I normally run around the house in. They get changed to jeans to walk the dog. A bath or shower in evenings and get in pjs to watch a bit of telly or read before bed, off in bed though as night sweats are terrible.

Buffy Fri 29-Jan-21 11:08:06

No. I have to have a shower and get dressed even though I know the only person I might possibly see these days is the postman. Just habit I suppose.

PamelaJ1 Fri 29-Jan-21 11:15:38

Like Doodledog I don’t think it’s about standards. I think it’s about about your attitude to life. I want to get on with something and pj’s just aren’t getting on with it clothes IMO.
When I’m working I wear a uniform and then I’m in working mode. When I’m in pj’s I’m in ready for a bit of relaxing mode.

Grandyma Fri 29-Jan-21 11:22:32

I have lots of PJ days. I don’t wear PJ’s in bed but have days when I get showered and put on PJ’s rather than getting dressed. So warm and snuggy!!

Susieq62 Fri 29-Jan-21 11:23:48

I don’t possess pjs ?

LauraNorder Fri 29-Jan-21 11:24:06

Not for me, I like to get up, when I eventually wake up, get showered and dressed for the day. Pyjamas on again only when I’m about to climb in to bed at night.
Not judging, just stating personal preference.

olliebeak Fri 29-Jan-21 11:29:00

I FREQUENTLY DO - unless I've got to go out somewhere really important.
