How many of you stay in your PJ's for the day?

Sometimes i do, but its not usually my style smile

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 29-Jan-21 14:23:50

I get up around 8 am, have breakfast and head for the shower. Proper clothes on for the rest of the day. I am making an effort and wearing most of my clothes at some point. OH doesn’t shower until noon. His medication makes him very sleepy in the morning. Son is teaching on line during the day. He often wears shorts with a smart jacket and shirt. No one can see below his waist.

Happysexagenarian Fri 29-Jan-21 14:19:00

No never.
I always slept in the buff until a couple of years ago when I started to feel the chill more at night, so just a nightie now.

NotAGran55 Fri 29-Jan-21 14:16:53

Absolutely not . Unless very ill my routine is the same as every morning since I was a teenager . Teeth, shower , hair washed and styled, make-up , perfume and nails, and dressed appropriately for the task ahead .
I couldn’t stand being unkempt and I am a ‘ get up and get on ‘ person .

Tweedle24 Fri 29-Jan-21 14:13:03

Nope. I can’t bear the thought of facing the day until I have showered, washed and dried my hair and dressed. What if someone were to come to the door?!

I do wear casual jersey trousers and loose tops though, not things I would wear to go out generally.

I went for my vaccination this morning and had to iron a short sleeved top and smart trousers to wear — definitely not things to be worn indoors during lockdown.

Aepgirl Fri 29-Jan-21 14:08:36

Certainly not. It’s lazy and slovenly. Does it mean that you don’t bath or shower in the mornings also.

BusterTank Fri 29-Jan-21 13:54:02

On Sundays and Christmas day , I love it .

knspol Fri 29-Jan-21 13:38:21

Never! I hate the thought. Even when ill I always feel better once up and showered and dressed. Don't get 'dressed up' just leggings and sweater, no make up. Nowadays do get up later and later but always eventually showered and dressed.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 29-Jan-21 13:37:00

I wouldn't stay in my PJs all day unless I was very ill. When I had pneumonia a few years back I was in my dressing gown all day as I couldn't stop coughing for long enough to make the effort and was too exhausted.

I've been through some awful times which I won't recount here but I'm sure it's better for my self-esteem if I make the effort to wash and dress, even if I'm only in a track suit (which I'm in at the moment) with clean underwear and socks each day.

Nanniejude Fri 29-Jan-21 13:35:44

Never

icanhandthemback Fri 29-Jan-21 13:28:29

Rather too often these days but mainly because I have some really lovely pj's I bought from Laura Ashley before they stopped trading.

Riggie Fri 29-Jan-21 13:19:30

No. Im up and dressed and geberally stay that way until bedtime.

Calendargirl Fri 29-Jan-21 12:44:05

Always get dressed as soon as I get up.

But keen to put my pyjamas and dressing gown on after tea and having my shower, often ‘ready for bed’ soon after 5pm, (during lockdown when I know there will be no visitors).

Don’t actually go to bed till about 10pm.

? zzzz

Stella14 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:42:35

Wow! Some very judgemental comments on this thread. ‘Standards’ and ‘slobbishness’ are subjective. It’s worth bearing in mind that because something is your opinion, that doesn’t make it a fact. Sometimes I do stay in my PJs, sometimes I don’t grin

GreyKnitter Fri 29-Jan-21 12:38:02

Purely personal choice I think. I don’t stay in my pjs all day - but not really sure why - but I do like to wear some of the clothes stashed in my wardrobe for when we can go out again. I often settle on a skirt on Sundays instead of the daily jeans or jeggins. I often have a bath early evening so that is the time when my pjs go on!

JaneJudge Fri 29-Jan-21 12:27:42

I don't as it makes me feel depressed but I don't care what anyone else chooses to do smile

Mollygo Fri 29-Jan-21 12:27:30

Omaoma57 Duolingo is a daily thing for me too. What are you learning?

Daffydilly Fri 29-Jan-21 12:27:10

Never, even in hospital I have to get dressed.

I'm the same, I've had a couple of recent stays in hospital and simply couldn't stay in PJs. I actually got quite annoyed with myself as there was absolutely no pressure to get dressed. ?

Omaoma57 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:25:13

Straight into either jogging , walking or exercise gear, then shower then prepare / plan and prep food for the day then onto duo lingo for an hour then lunch as we only have coffee in the morning , then a walk then reading till late afternoon then tea...might get ready for bed early but never stay all day in the clothes that I sleep in...

Nannan2 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:25:08

Daddima- i like the idea of 'cootering' ?

Nannan2 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:20:52

Bluebelle- it doesn't make me have 'low self esteem' or 'affect my mental well- being' either to do this- and no one said anyone in PJ's can't get up and wash their face or do their hair, nor brush their teeth etc. just that they've not got dressed! You make it sound like we've gone completely to pieces just cause we might have chosen not to bother dressing for the day, just to go absolutely nowhere! I would not go out in my PJ's though.hmm

MayBee70 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:20:30

My nightwear isn’t much different to my day wear anyway. T shirt and loose fitting black pyjama bottoms. Put leggings and extra layers on when I walk the dog but often put my pyjama bottoms back on when I get home as they’re cotton and loose fitting. Thankfully, pre covid, I bought lots of pairs of pyjamas because M&S had a pattern that I liked so I bought several pairs. Because of lockdown I try to do a few exercises throughout the day and my jimjams are comfortable and loose fitting. Also I know that I won’t be having any surprise visitors. Not that I did before!

Goingtobeagranny Fri 29-Jan-21 12:18:24

Until recently I wouldn’t have contemplated it but during lockdown we’ve been semi living with my son and daughter-in-law and dil is a big fan of pj day. Now I love it.
I still have a shower and as I don’t sleep in pj’s I have to put clean ones on but then we have movie day, pizza party, a picnic, a craft day...all in our pj’s ?

dragonfly46 Fri 29-Jan-21 12:16:14

Espee love it!!

No I get up, get dressed, shower, wash my hair, get dressed with makeup on. I must admit I am smarter at the top than the bottom - not sure my non-elastic trousers will fit after lock-down.
If I don't do this I look in the mirror and see my 100 year old Mum grin

Mollygo Fri 29-Jan-21 12:13:44

Love it Esspee!

Blossoming Fri 29-Jan-21 12:11:06

I like your style Esspee
