Gagajo, I find the majority of posters are civil to each other. Its only a few, who set out to deliberate upset others.

Commenting about missing posters, in my opinion, shows how caring people are.
They may be virtual friends, but so many have supported and uplifted me with their kindness in what has been a pretty rotten year, physically and emotionally for me.
I salute all of you!?

I haven't seen bickering gagajo just concern for fellow posters. It's not a case of who is in or out but more who has been banned for undisclosed offences that are against 'the spirit of Gransnet'.

I don’t see it as ‘bickering’, GagaJo. On Facebook, or other Forums, people presumably say, “Where’s so and so, haven’t seen them for a while?” On GN, people get to know other long time posters and may comment if they’re missing. If one is then told that a poster is ‘banned’, then surely, in a free society, we should be able to discuss that? There’s also the question of inequality - every day recently people have been asking, kindly, where Mick is, from the Good Morning thread - but it seems that GNHQ do not look kindly on queries about other posters.

It’s this “being civil” thing. Sadly when posters disagree some are too quick to cry “ganging up” , “please be nice” etc.

I don’t think people are bickering about who is in/out, I think as I’ve said before the thrust of this thread is how fierce GNHQ have been in their discipline.
The fact that nobody dares say the name is because of the administration not because of the contributors.

Any reference to posters by name results in deletions, as many upset posters in the Kitchen have experienced in the last few days.

I find it all rather old Eastern Bloc & draconian that GNHQ a) remove people for non defined 'actions against the state', often based on 'informer information ' & b) turn those disappered into non- people by banning us from talking about them.

It’s clear the the majority here are well aware of who was hounding the owner of the sight hound. I’m another who contacted Gnhq weeks ago to suggest that.
I wonder if this thread will be pulled because a couple of people claim the majority of comments are the work if a gang of naughty girls/bullies in the play ground

I agree with Kandinsky, a ‘hide’ button can be useful and saves a lot of ill feeling. Wouldn’t be hard to do, either.

I haven’t really noticed it here as I try not to get too involved & just flit in & out, but on mumsnet you definitely had people who would deliberately goad other posters to get a reaction and then report them. They got quite a few people banned that way.
It’s awful behaviour but sadly common on social media. That’s why I think a ‘hide poster’ option is a good thing as it stops a lot of arguments.

Well I am not a resident of the uk and I have to say I have felt nothing but welcome here as a newcomer and no one has made any adverse comments. I love to keep in touch with the country of my birth even though it has been many years since I lived there.

Of course people can post their opinion on the UK even if they don't live in the UK.

Why is it bullying to keep replying the same way to the same sort of posts but not bullying to keep posting similar things you know will upset people?

It is not alright to post things you know are likely to annoy people and then get upset yourself if those people argue back! Almost manipulation.

Yes, one would be forgiven for thinking this repeated form of annoying other posters in this manner was intentional!

I haven't seen bullying but I have seen a lot of exasperation expressed in posts.

The problem seems to be that GNHQ seem to be finding more difficulty now in determining the difference.
