Australian, as it always sounds so easy going, no worries!

I love the Irish. I have my TomTom set to 'Sean' and get all instructions in the wonderful Irish brogue. I find it quite calming in difficult traffic situations.

Definitely Bristolian (google Charlie tuna)

Polly63 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:10:57

Definitely Irish for me, north or south, don’t mind which.

My partner has a soft Geordie accent which I like very much indeed. I myself am quite plummy which is rather a drag, particularly as it seems to incentive tradesmen to inflate their quotes sad.

My DH is Liverpudlian and I’m Devonian!

For me it's Italian and Spanish - I love the lilt! Being a new widow with little family, I decided to occupy myself in the lockdown by learning Spanish online. So far so good!

Sean Bean’s Sheffield accent.?

Missingmoominmama Sat 06-Feb-21 10:22:48

Yorkshire, Welsh, Lancashire, Cumbria, southern Irish.

Madwoman11 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:29:29

I hate my Yorkshire accent. My favourite is the geordie accent

sazz1 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:31:31

Scouse, love it.

mumpy71 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:40:36

Greek people speaking English

Foxglove77 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:41:09

I like French, Italian and Irish. I really struggle with regional accents. Firstly I never correctly identify the region and secondly cannot understand some and have to ask OH for a translation.

hicaz46 Sat 06-Feb-21 10:42:07

In this country I love Geordie and Scouse and internationally love French.

Armynanny Sat 06-Feb-21 10:44:55

How funny that this thread has come up. We were only discussing accents the other day. I was wondering why some accents are harsher than others. I always think that once you get to Worcestershire from the north the accents are softer.

My favourites are Geordie, Welsh and what I call more rural accents. I hate Brummie and Liverpool accents.

Craftycat Sat 06-Feb-21 10:46:05

Spanish for me. I like the Greek accent too.

ToadsMum Sat 06-Feb-21 10:46:24

Definitely French - binge watched the latest series of Spiral, now on Call My Agent (Hervé’s is brilliant as is Sofia’s) closely followed by Irish, any Irish. Unfortunately as married to Cymro, Welsh accents not in my Top 10... but also hate my own London twang accent

Nannina Sat 06-Feb-21 10:49:16

Definitely Geordie for me- might have something to with an early boyfriend who always called me pet

specki4eyes Sat 06-Feb-21 10:50:31

Yorkshire accent is my favourite followed by Brummie. eg Sean Bean and Lenny Henry. And I love the local accent here in South West France.

I’m a bit of an accent freak - I love them all. If I’m speaking to someone on a helpline, or customer service, I always ask them where they are. I dislike is the American one, though I appreciate there are lots of different accents there.
Here, I just love to hear a regional accent, plus S Irish, with which I’m familiar, also Liverpudlian, Geordie and pretty much any others. I also dislike the braying tones of overly posh females as I find their voices irritating.
