I saw her on the last leg too, she is indeed a legend!
I do understand why some of you feel uncomfortable with it but I think that is why I found it so funny
I moved to a rural idyllic village, somewhere where people want to live, and was promptly signed up for some committee and the amount of bitching and backstabbing was unbelievable. I was the target for some abuse myself but held my own and received an apology but another woman was treated appallingly. Another of my friends was voted for parish councillor and similar happened to scenarios described here, newbies upset the apple cart and all hell broke loose. Neither of us live in the village anymore
It isn't all villages as I live in a lovely village now and was brought up in a lovely one too! but there does seem to be a distinct lack of life experience amongst some people and a massive dose of self interest going on. I always thought people went into 'politics' because they had an interest in making things better, I have quickly come to realise recently that it doesn't matter what 'side' you are on, a lot of the people representing us are looking out for themselves and their own business interests and this starts at very low level, town councillors etc. It is awful really.
