Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its ben snowing but not much from the looking out of my window here in brackley.
Looked properly at my discharge from hospital papers, changes slightly in medication , plus next month I will have monitor fitted to me to measure my heart rate over a given period.
Otherwise OK .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from the Sefton coast where an hour ago delicate snow flakes drifted in the air, ‘lightly salting’ the landscape.
That’s encouraging news about mum and baby, Marydoll. I wish I could say the same about your vax, though. Shouldn’t shielders be a priority?
Your poor DGS, Susan56. Let’s hope he quickly forgets the experience.
I’m having my vax today as are many others on here. Hopefully there’ll be a florist near the centre so I can pick up some tulips and daffs. All pointers to Spring are welcome chez nous.
Thinking of those with troubles and worries. Have the best day you can everyone. x

Good morning from Cumbria where the sun is shining and the snow falling horizontally......not lying anywhere that I can see.
Have attached photo ( I think) from Friday's walk as colours on the bay looked so lovely, not sure my phone camera does it justice tho. There is a stone wall too....don't all my photos...some inspiration for you sparklefizz, loved your painting.
Had a very windy weekend here and an eventful saturday night. I had banked up the multifuel stove before going to bed, we leave it on 24/7 over the winter and it keeps the room (and the Bobby dog) so cosy. After tootling about in the bathroom I luckily popped back in to get a glass of water to find the room full of smoke ?. Cue opening all the windows and dragging Mr Happy from his slumbers. We think judging by the smell
that the chimney liner had become detached in the wind, sliding down chimney and causing it to block. Had to empty the hot coals out the stove into a bucket and dash outside with them whilst dancing around the dog. Catastrophe averted but now no cosy stove....and it is cold?.....poor Bobby shivering in his basket this morning.
Sorry so many of our posters feeling down this weekend, so many frustrations at the moment that are beyond our control. Wishing everyone a good day today and feeling happy for all those getting their vaccines. And so pleased Nancy and Dumpy Bag have found each other .

Good morning everyone from a sunny South Manchester. It must have been very cold in the night as we have a light dusting of snow on the decking outside our front door. I woke at 7am to use the bathroom then decided to snuggle back into my warm bed for a bit longer - then promptly fell asleep for another two hours!

No plans at all for today. Apart from the grocery shopping downstairs in Sainsbury’s. No rush to get there so think after this cuppa I’ll make us fried bacon & egg on toast then we will write the list for Himself. Well, they do say not to go shopping when you’re hungry! Actually being serious, writing a list & sticking to it (which Himself is very good at) means we are spending less on housekeeping these weeks. Plus I can’t get out to spend any of my state pension so that is sitting happily in my bank! (for now)

I’ve noticed Himself needs a haircut he looks as though he has got owl ears ...

Hope Monday is good to us all. I’m going to read all the 50 posts I’m behind on ❤️ and will pop back later. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Grammaretto Having the vaccine was a doddle but I think you’re very wise to have a chauffeur. I’m just going to rest until I feel better, Mr. B is bringing me tea and porridge ?

Grammaretto Mon 08-Feb-21 09:31:36

I have just read your news Marydoll sorry you still haven't been given a vax apptment but at least the df's DGD is stable and on course to have the baby.

hulahoop Mon 08-Feb-21 09:29:16

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

seacliff Mon 08-Feb-21 09:19:27

Good morning from a still snowy Suffolk. The wind blew the snow overnight, so some small roads are blocked. I'm sure it will disappear soon, but meanwhile glad I don't have to commute. Working from home has big advantages.

I had the Pfizer jab with no ill effects a couple of weeks ago. OH had the AstraZeneca yesterday. He had a bad night being frozen cold and shivering violently, and headache. Just one of the possible side effects. At least he can stay in and cosy and catch up on sleep.

Take care all.

Susan56 Mon 08-Feb-21 09:15:03

Good morning from Shropshire. We have a light dusting of snow but it’s getting brighter now.

Tomorrow is our childcare support day so we usually have a quiet monday in preparation as it’s an early start on a Tuesday.DGS,aged two had a bad cough so the dr recommended a Covid test which luckily was negative but he was traumatised by the experience. He had one a couple of months ago and was fine but really upset this time.

Thank you again for the kind messages and welcoming me back.

Thinking of Auntieflo, Georgesgran and everyone with illness and worries.

EkwaNimitee Mon 08-Feb-21 09:14:43

Good morning Mick and Everyone from a very cold but sunny Cumbrian coast. My room is warm but I'm feeling cold, maybe because my body just knows it's cold outside?!
Staying in, it's housework day. I'll put extra effort into it to try and warm up. Roll on spring.
Take care all you folks with health problems and hope you have the best of days.

Nannytopsy Mon 08-Feb-21 09:09:25

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
It has been snowing in this bit Suffolk since this time yesterday but mostly very fine stuff so we only have a couple of inches. DGC were going back to school today as their parents feel the little ones need time away from each other. The 4 year old is a tricky customer with a vile temper! Although key workers, DS & DiL have kept them home and we have done some cover. Of course, first day back is cancelled because of snow!
sheep we use lots of paracetamol in this house and find if you ask the pharmacist they will sell you 2 x 32. It may save a few shop visits.
A slow start today as we watched the first quarter of the Super Bowl last night ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

granfromafar Mon 08-Feb-21 09:09:23

Should have been thin cover of snow.

granfromafar Mon 08-Feb-21 09:08:32

Good morning Mick and all from West Kent where we have a think cover of snow - nothing like the 6 inches that were predicted! Went for my vaccination yesterday late afternoon in many layers, expecting to queue outside, but pleased to be able to walk straight in. So efficient and so far only a sore arm to contend with.
Sheepandcattle, so glad to hear that Nancy has bonded with her adopted calf.
Have a good day.

polomint Mon 08-Feb-21 09:07:09

Good morning everyone from central Lanarkshire. Lovely sunny but cold morning but no snow forecast for us. Doing nothing exciting as usual. Take care

NannyJan53 Mon 08-Feb-21 09:04:52

Good morning from an icy cold Black Country with a few snow flurries.

Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday for MrJan he had a lovely albeit quiet day, with a lovely 3 course meal for dinner, although we couldn't eat the dessert so have saved if for today!

He is off for his vaccination today in Birmingham, as he was already going there to his old workplace to empty his locker. So made the appointment for the jab there too. Bit anxious now in case the snow falls heavier.

Was going to drive over to Mums, as her Portal isn't working, so cannot have video calls. I wanted to have a look at it, before I rang the helpline. It is less than a year old, so it should be covered under warranty. It could be she has pressed something she shouldn't smile. It has been a lifeline to her the last 9 months, being able to see family.

Marydoll MrJans car had that fault, and he didn't know it had that function either!

Happy birthday to MrGinny cupcake

Wishing you all a good and safe day. with special thoughts of gilly

Beechnut Mon 08-Feb-21 09:02:54

Wishing MrGinnny a Happy Birthday ??

baubles Mon 08-Feb-21 08:53:53

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s bright and very cold.

sheep lovely to hear about your calves. Apart from complaints about dog poo and parking our local Facebook page is often filled with posts letting farmers know that there are sheep on a particular road or a sheep on its back somewhere. I’m afraid that one the other day gave me the giggles - Could the farmer who owns the field at...... get up there fast, there’s a sheep running around with a bucket stuck on its head!

Yesterday morning I stripped the bed and left it to air while I got on with things. Completely forgot about it till I came up to go to bed. Grrr! I resisted the tempted to just get into the spare bed.

Another day of crochet, reading and dog walking beckons.

Happy Monday folks.

Lins1066 Mon 08-Feb-21 08:45:36

Well done on learning to play a new instrument Gingster, your DH's comment made me laugh. When our daughter was learning to play the oboe, it sounded in the early days like a cow in labour, apologies to sheepandattle!

Jaxjacky Mon 08-Feb-21 08:42:49

Good morning all from a cold S Hants, -1 and snow flurries. I’m very disappointed, there were flurries at 10 last night, I’d hoped to wake up to snow this morning and I know the GC’s were expecting to too. There will be a quick walk later and I’ll be using hand warmers in my gloves as I did yesterday, they make a huge difference. Venison grills for dinner tonight, Monday’s always an easy meal. Happy Birthday to MrGinny ?, thoughts with those struggling and poorly.

Alygran Mon 08-Feb-21 08:41:44

Good morning from North Yorkshire. We have a dusting of snow here but the sky is turning from blue to grey so it looks like more snow to come.
Hygienist for me this morning then a top up shop. I’m looking for fresh sage to make Urmston’s SOAP dish later this week. I have made something similar in the past using sage and onion stuffing mix on the top. It was a recipe my mum got from local radio in the 70’s.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Grammaretto Mon 08-Feb-21 08:39:55

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where we have a dusting of snow but it was snowing when I rushed to put the buckets/bins out this morning.
! had a power cut last night which took out most of the Edinburgh/Borders area and took me by surprise.
I thought I knew the way to the bathroom but got trapped in a cupboard. Oh dear it isn't just cows who are a bit stupid sheepandcattle

Vaccination day for me. Hoorah. Although it will be the AstraZeneca which is currently getting a bad press of course! My DS is going to be a taxi for me so it will be good to see him too and also not to drive in case I feel bad afterwards like you Blossoming.
I also hope that Marydoll's friend who was having the C-section is ok as I have missed the news.

Thanks for the snowy pictures. My DGC in the Highlands have been having great fun in it. They built a snowman, a snowwoman and even a snow chair. I'm told it would have been a great ski season but for the pandemic.

Sending best wishes to all those with troubles and worries today.

Sparklefizz Mon 08-Feb-21 08:37:17

Morning Mick and all GNs from a very cold South Glos. We had a dusting of snow in the night but most of it had gone by the time I got up. At the moment the sky is blue so no more snow right now.

I had a heart monitor fitted a couple of years ago, Mick and wore it for a week. It's a bit of a nuisance but nothing to worry about, and you can detach the wires when you get in the shower, and then plug yourself back in again afterwards.

I don't envy you working outside in the bitter wind and cold sheep. I've always been something of a wuss with the cold. Glad I don't live in Chicago like your son's friend Lins1066 with temps of minus 23! Love the snowman pics GrannyGravy

I am bracing myself to phone my ISP about my TV. Since setting up my new router, all devices have been fine except the TV which has to be reprogrammed with the WiFi passcode every time I turn it on. I've googled but still don't know why. Hate discussing tech when I don't know what the other person is talking about. Sigh.

Good luck to all those having their vax today, and special thoughts to all who are heavy-hearted. x

Greyduster Mon 08-Feb-21 08:35:52

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We have a dusting of snow, a bitter wind, and the sky is clearing so it’s going to be a cold day. We’ll try and get a walk in at some stage, but apart from that, another quiet day. I will try and finish decorating GS’s birthday cake.
Happy Birthday, *Mr Ginny*?! Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannySomerset Mon 08-Feb-21 08:34:22

Bitterly cold but bright but need to stir myself as it is bed changing day with the attendant laundry and ironing. Zoom PCC meeting tonight to officially agree the advertising of our vacancy. We have already been rectorless for eighteen months and it will take months to appoint someone so any step forward is welcome. Keep warm!

Gingster Mon 08-Feb-21 08:31:13

Good morning all from a snowy Essex. We don’t have snow here very often, so it is quite magical ! ⛄️?

I love the Marsh family videos. They are such a clever, lovely family. Thanks for that one Ashcombe And I’m glad you are so appreciated at your church. ?.

Beauregard I can well imagine your giggles with your little ones’ Chat yesterday. They are so earnest and innocent aren’t they! ?.

I too am learning to play the recorder, along with my GD. She taught herself the Ukele in first lockdown but has left it at Uni. She told me she’d like to learn another instrument so I suggested we both learn recorder. ?. Very easy to pick up and can sound lovely when played ‘properly’. My U3A group have a great group so I might ask if I can join, if all goes well. ?. DH isn’t very happy and said it sounds like I’m strangling next doors cat.! ?. Good luck to your GS Grandmabatty . Let us know how he gets on with it. ?.

I have my Bridge session on Zoom at 2 o’clock. I hope I can remember some rules, as I haven’t played now for exactly one year. It will be nice to see all the group though!

Our vaccines are booked for tomorrow so I hope the centre is open and we can get there, snow permitting.

Sheep I love how love your cows. I’ll look at them with different eyes now ?.

That gammon again today . Third and last day. Might make rissoles.

Take care out there on those slippy roads. Have a cosy day. ?
