Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its ben snowing but not much from the looking out of my window here in brackley.
Looked properly at my discharge from hospital papers, changes slightly in medication , plus next month I will have monitor fitted to me to measure my heart rate over a given period.
Otherwise OK .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to follow

It still dark outside so I have no idea what the weather is today.

The usual no wonderful plans for today jus some housework etc. Knitting and reading my latest book.
I was chatting to a friend on GN about Farrow and Ball paint and she told me she had one of their books which gave her great ideas when decorating. She was such a bad influence and made me buy a book too. ?.

Hope every one has a good day.

Good morning Mick and all other early risers, not yet risen , from a very windy Torbay. I hope you continue to make a good recovery, Mick.

From yesterday's Good Morning thread: thanks for the advice, GrannyGravy13, re the vaccine standby list, but I have every hope of hearing from my surgery within the next few days, if the experience of other local friends is anything to go by. Yes, cold hands can be a problem when I play the piano at church, Gingster so I wear gloves in between playing. Yet again at yesterday’s service, the priest led a round of applause at the end and shared with the congregation that I’m around for several weeks due to travel restrictions preventing me from being with DH in France!

The talented Marsh family has produced another parody of a song linked to our current situation. They were on BBC Breakfast yesterday morning and, for those who might have missed it, I thought it was worth sharing:-

Thinking of those with snow affecting their plans for the day and hoping you are keeping warm. Please take good care and stay safe and well.

Morning Mick and all to follow from a dry and cold north Wales- good to know that you’ll be monitored until things are properly sorted ?

DH is having his jab late this afternoon ? which I’m so, so, happy about given his dodgy ticker - I’ll sleep a lot easier now!

Glad to see Susan56 back and kind thoughts to those going through tough times AuntieFlo, Grammaretto, Georgesgran and more - hope you all have a better day today ?

Welcome to our newbies - I don’t post every day, but try to pop in to GN and read about new arrivals, where they live on my mental map - NioChorio isn’t far from me in Dyffryn Clwyd ?

Bellasnana Mon 08-Feb-21 06:38:11

Good morning Mick, Kalu and everyone, from a cloudy Malta where there is also a very noisy wind blowing. Looks like our spell of warmer weather is over.

How quickly the weeks come around. Monday again and I need to catch the gas man to replace the bottle for my heater.

Nail salon later then out with DD3 to buy a few necessaries after she finishes work.

Take care everyone. Thoughts with those who are struggling one way or another.☀️

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. I have woken to a sprinkling of snow. I like how we bounce around county and countries Pant.

Not much expected of me today. I’ve got some admin and a walk to the mail box.

Thinking of you all with worries, stay warm and safe all ?

Morning Mick and all Good Morningers, yesterday was very cold with a wicked wind and today is forecast for being much the same but worse. I counted the layers I was wearing and it totalled 6! I had difficulties bending my arms and legs but at least I wasn’t cold!! At one point I looked down at myself and wondered why my outfit looked familiar- I was wearing navy padded bib and braces and a red jumper - and then it occurred to me that I have a photo of me and my father on a beach in winter when I was 2 years old and I was wearing........ a red jumper and blue padded bib and braces?. No one can accuse me of being a slave to fashion!!
All happy in the calving shed yesterday. Nancy and her adopted calf Dumpy Bag had bonded so well that I let them out of their individual ‘mothering-up’ pen and into the main barn with the other calves and cows. She’s an excellent mum and kept DB close to her so no worries there. Also Eli and her twins, Eliot and Elijah left their mother-up pen ( I’d kept them together for longer than normal because sometimes a cow has difficulties counting to 2 and forgets one twin) and she to proved to be a very good mum, keeping an eye on both calves and going to look for them if one wandered off for too long. I love my ladies! I just want the rain to stay away for a week or so to let the wind dry out the fields a bit so that I can open up the barn to let the cows and calves go in and out of the field behind it. As with children, fresh air is so vital for keeping calves healthy and there’s no sight more joyful thanks seeing the calves running about the fields in gangs whilst their mothers graze.
Today I have the chimney sweep coming and we need to go to the bank later on. I need to stock up on paracetamol too as a combination of farming and cold weather makes me ache - everything on a farm is either heavy, big or awkward! It’s a nuisance that one can only buy 2 packets at a time so I’ll have to nip into several chemists and shops to get a stash to last.
It’s nearly light enough outside to go and check the ewes so I’m off.
Thoughts with those who have had bad news regarding their own health or that of loved ones.

Good morning from West Berkshire where we have the slightest sprinkling of snow ⛄️. On the subject of the weather I used to get paid to write reports and plot weather charts as I worked for the Met Office for 5 years .
Quiet day today , dropping a car off for an MOT then housework listening to my latest audio book .

Mick I was wired up with a heart monitor last June for 7 days and had to buy some pyjamas to attach it to at night! I was worried about my daily shower but it was waterproof thank goodness.

Take care everyone if you are out and about .

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Feb-21 07:20:48

Good morning Mick and all

It snowed most of the day yesterday and we have had snow overnight, it’s definitely rather cold here in S E Essex

Hunkering down with my kindle today.

Sending (((hugs))) to our friends with troubles

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️⛄️

Scentia Mon 08-Feb-21 07:21:29

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cold ? we have the lightest dusting of snow, not worth mentioning really!
Sheep I did laugh at your comment about cows having difficulty counting to two?
Today I am at the factory and I just know it’s going to be freezing in there, never mind, if I work harder I will warm up. I used to say to my children that they should move a bit quicker if they are cold! I should practice what I used to preach?
I hope the new mum is ok after her CSection, I haven’t seen this thread over the weekend.
Take care all my GM friends and stay warm and safe.

Two of the elder GC having fun in the snow!

grandMattie Mon 08-Feb-21 07:32:42

Very late (for me) good morning from a grey beautiful E Kent. The snow has settled and the whiteness together with the silence, it’s magical.
A picture of my tiny back garden shows the depth of snow.
I seem to be very tired, I suspect it’s the OAZ. Sorry ,*Marydoll*, perhaps you should call the surgery and ask them (politely) what they’re playing at.
Just cleaning as it’s Monday and that’s the day DH does the vacuuming.
Stay safe, stay positive everyone. ?

Grandmabatty Mon 08-Feb-21 07:34:48

Good morning all from Polmont where it is very very cold. It says -1 but it feels much colder. I have to go out soon to pick up dgs for a day of babysitting. Grannygravy looks like lots of fun going on. Sheepandcattle I had a laugh at your cows memory problems. Are they like goldfish? You are obviously fond of your 'ladies'. Scentia I take my hat off to you. I can't bear feeling cold so living in Scotland has disadvantages! No plans for today. I bought dgs a recorder and we'll see if he can work it out. I have a delivery due of some cars for him. I'm not sure if he'll get them or if I'll keep them for his birthday later this month. I'm off for second cup of coffee. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Mon 08-Feb-21 07:36:39

Good morning from a snowy Essex by the sea. As GG13 says we had snow most of the day yesterday and it is very cold. I dont intend going anywhere today.
We may start decorating our bedroom or we may not, it all depends if we can find the elusive enthusiasm.
I do have ironing that needs doing and there is my cross stitch waiting for me.
Have the best Monday you can and stay safe and warm everyone xx

Morning all from a white, very cold North Leicestershire.

Up and going already shock as we have a Carer's course beginning at 9am and I have been told that it will be unacceptable to appear in PMS and with bed hair!!

Sending live to everyone who needs it and wondering how gilly is.

Pittcity Mon 08-Feb-21 07:41:50

Good morning from a below freezing Colchester where it is snowing again. Schools and vaccination centres have closed. We will have our emergency soup and curry so we don't need to venture out until tomorrow. I expect DH will go for a walk later any way.

BlueSapphire Mon 08-Feb-21 07:43:29

Hello and good morning everyone - we have had a light covering of snow in Northampton and it looks rather chilly out. Shall be warm indoors with my book, kindle fire, the newspaper and knitting, with the radio to keep me company. I do have a living hot water bottle at the moment: one of the cats is on my lap for a morning cuddle.

Just put the towels in to wash, and will probably find another load of something to go in later. A beef chilli is thawing out for tonight's dinner.

Had a nice long phone chat with an old friend yesterday, and I really don't know what we find to talk about, as neither of us are going out or doing much, and we chat every Sunday.

I very much enjoyed the music programmes on tv last night- songs from the musicals on BBC1, followed by an Andrew Lloyd Webber documentary on BBC4. I have recorded the programme about Matt Lucas and Les Miserables.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from north Surrey with a very light sprinkling of snow. It is bitter out there.
DH has his sisters funeral today, I am not going due to number restrictions but know he will be well supported by his son. He is to wear colourful clothes but with the cold I have said the most important thing is to layer up for warmth. I encouraged him to talk about his feelings yesterday, we are so very different, but I think I could understand how he is coping with it all.
With my cold symptoms just about gone I will be back to visiting mum and dad today, Sister1 has been doing all the visits due to other family illnesses.
Ashcombe I have watched the Marsh family videos they are a very talented family and are putting a smile on lots of faces.
Thoughts to all on here who have troubles at the moment

Beauregard Mon 08-Feb-21 07:52:08

Good morning all from Derbyshire where we've had a dusting of snow.

The car has its MOT this morning so I'll have to get the de-icer out. It's a local garage, so I don't have to go very far and can walk home after I've dropped it off.

Yesterday I had a call from DD and family. They had news that SiL has decided to leave teaching to go back to his former career in engineering. He's not one to let the grass grow under his feet and will do well whatever he does.

My 7 year old DGS came on to tell me in great (too much) detail about the sex education programme he had watched on tv the other day. His mum, a busy teacher herself, had put a schools programme on tv for him while she taught her class online, not realising what it was! The five year old didn't see it and came on the call briefly to talk about dinosaurs and T Rex's before declaring he needed the toilet so off he went. It all made me giggle.

Thoughts to all those struggling at the moment flowers. Hope today is a good day.

Dwmxwg Mon 08-Feb-21 07:54:47

GrandMattie that looks like a lovely place to sit (on warmer days)?☀️

Gagagran Mon 08-Feb-21 07:56:02

Morning all from a cold (but no snow so far) south coast.

Glad to hear that you are being kept an eye on Mick.

Laundry day here and confit duck legs for lunch. Nothing else on the agenda so far. The weeks are rolling into one and I always have to check what day it is as each one feels exactly the same - full of not very much!

We have to keep positive though and hope for better things in the next few weeks. Spring flowers and sunshine might help!

Keep warm and keep safe everyone. sunshine

brook2704 Mon 08-Feb-21 07:57:06

Good morning everyone from a very cold Inverness, where we’ve still lots of snow on the ground. It’s a clear sky and my weather app is telling me it’s -4 outside ? We’re still planning a walk somewhere though just to ease the boredom
Thank you for the video Ashcombe a talented family indeed
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today, if going out please take care and wrap up very warm! ?

Morning Mick, morning All. Sun is breaking through the cloud in our corner of Somerset. No snow as yet. Very cold it seems and planning to stay that way. Admin for me and a phone chat. Mr C is pondering how to fill his morning, something will occur, I’m hoping he’ll change the bed before anything else. Take care everyone, look after yourselves.
