But not every green improvement is a 100% green solution. People are looking at the whole chain more. Many companies, like politicians, like to sing about what is good without discussing the compromises and nuance.

I hope that more of us are not just looking for easy solutions - because there rarely are any.

Coca-Cola make stuff no one needs- why buy from them at all?

Aluminum cans are recyclable anyway, so if they moved (back to) glass bottles instead of plastic that would be a better move surely?

Just for the record aluminium requires huge amounts of resources and energy to make. Search for 'aluminium and the environment' for loads of information. It's not good!

NotSpaghetti The paper bottle question. I don’t drink Cola or Pepsi but I was interested to know if there might be a way of not using plastic for large amounts of carbonated drinks. I wondered if they might use the sort of containers they use for fruit juice, but then it mentioned the dangers of the container material ‘flaking off’ into the drink. When you think what cola doesn’t to dirty coins, the container becomes really important.
The other comment was simply because every time there’s some ‘good news’ there’s so little time to enjoy it.

Chestnut but aluminum is endlessly recyclable, and easy to recycle too - there’s no easy solution.
