For some reason I was really cold last night before going to bed. I then rather stupidly delayed by deciding to descale the kettle and clean the washing machine!!! It was only 12.45am... I know, what is wrong with me? I think the plot is being seriously lost chez nous!

I pushed open the bedroom door to find a sleeping DH - clutching book and with glasses askew, rolled in the bedclothes like a hot dog but on my side of the bed and on my pillows. In response to my "what are you doing?" he said that because I was cold, he thought he'd warm up my place. It was blissful - what a lovely thought. Who needs Valentine's Day?

Yesterday, my DH went out for a paper, & to our little town market for fruit & veg., He came back with a lovely cauliflower... I said "is that for valentines day".?@.... He said " Is it?"....... enough said....!!!!!

Another blustery and cold day in South Yorkshire but a tad warmer than yesterday. A hunker down day , I think, staying in where it's warm and cosy.

Mick, you are probably thinking what a gang of bossy women we are, ?, but we very concerned about you. You really shouldn't be venturing out into this biting cold more than is absolutely necessary, and certainly not every day, especially unmasked as that cold air will just get into your lungs and cause problems as has been said already. Would you be able to book a taxi to take you to the surgery for your checkup tomorrow, as I think you should really try to attend if you possibly can? Please be careful. Lecture over ?.

Well, the ironing pile beckons so I'd better get on with that, but maybe a coffee first. Procrastination? Moi? ?

Just popping in before mass to say Happy Valentine’s to everyone! Like Ashcombe I have slept late thanks to vaccination, but at least I ‘feel myself’ again this morning, it’s been a bit of a ropey weekend.

Good Morning all from a bright and sunny Portugal! The thermometer says that it is 15°C but having been outside earlier it certainly doesn’t feel like it as there is a bightingly cold wind. I got as far as reading Grandmafrench’s post and had to pause to enjoy her beautiful Valentine’s Day flowers. Here the birds are certainly courting and there is a Blackbird nesting in the old Medlar tree. ?

Good morning all from the Angus coast where the 50 shades of grey seem a little bit brighter. My weather app says it's 2°C out there, but we still have that strong wind making it more like -5. Oh to be warm again!
I had such a lovely surprise yesterday - quick doorstep visit from my young next door neighbour and a big box of chocolate biscuits "just because". Our properties are a distance apart so we rarely see each other, and she wanted to know I was alright and offered to do any shopping I might need as the roads are treacherous. Bless her - she's such a sweet girl. She and her family moved in there last year, a couple of weeks into lockdown, so really no chance to get to know them properly as yet. But my goodness, she brightened my day!
Nothing planned for today except the usual Family WhatsApp - although we had two lengthy sessions yesterday so not a lot left to say!
Mick do please take the good advice you are offered. My mother had a serious heart problem and was told never to go out on windy days as the fluctuating temperature of her skin caused by the ebb and flow of the cool air meant her heart had to work harder to send warm blood to her capillaries to keep it warm and this alone could cause another heart attack. I'm sure you're wrapping up warm, but you're not wearing a mask so not warming up the air going into your lungs .......
Have a happy Valentine's Day everyone, and let those of us who no longer have our Valentines with us bask in all those happy memories which we are so lucky to have. ??

Just an aside about Mick.
Years ago when I worked at our local general hospital one of the medics and I were discussing a colleague who seemed to be pushing himself after an op (unnecessarily I thought). He said ‘it’s what men do, very often. Unlike women who rest up, men test their confidence levels by getting back in the saddle straight away. It’s a different mindset altogether. It reassures them that they’re doing okay’.

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dry and seems a bit milder out. Good. We slept in until 9am! Must have needed it.

Picking my stepfather up at 1pm for lunch. Will put my SOAP dish together in a bit. It’s ages since we’ve had it actually! Sunday = wine day for me. I have a bottle of Viognier chilling in the fridge.

Met up in the park through the square with the little family in the cold after all yesterday. Grandson (8) wanted to shoot basketball hoops with his dad and little miss (just 4) was fizzing with excitement to show me her nails. She had been allowed hot pink nail polish on them for half term - first time ever! ‘Mummy says just for school holidays grandma, not weekends’.

My love doesn't do celebrations. He's Grumps to the grandchildren. But he has a very soft, tender and caring heart. I'm doing on of his favourites for main meal (rib eye steak) but mine for the starter (scallops) then joint fav for pud (salted caramel cheesecake).

Cornwall is still cold. Still windy. Heavy rain is back. But Mya's bowel have settled again.

Dear Daughter is facetiming me this morning sometime.
Making a very lemony drizzle loaf cake (3 lemons) this afternoon. Must remember to put the poppy seeds in this time.
Sending a text to Dear Son. I'm OK for a while but it's rarely him texting me. I know his work schedule is massive and he gets very little time off so I have to be happy with about one text every 3-4 months plus a call a couple of times a year.

Grey and chilly here in Teddington. Hemming sleeves and bottom of coat today. Tonight we are having a meal from Cook, duck, dauphinoise potatoes and green beans followed by gin and tonic semifreddo. I will try to have a walk later, but it doesn't look very inspiring! Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning all. No crimson sunrise this morning in Glasgow, quite grey but milder at last.

I have a supply of blank cards and matching envelopes in my craft hamper and when I opened it last night looking for ideas to make a Valentine card for DH, it was obvious he had been there before me....I did my best to stay in loving mode as I tidied up the guddle in search of ideas to make his card.

My hip feels tight this morning, but will ease soon, now I am up.
We will listen to the online service, DH will put the world to rights with his pal, and I will do a doorstep handover of a doll's pram to a neighbour, for her little one.

Yesterday was lovely, as my GD and GGS Facetimed for a long chat, with many interruptions of gymnastic ability by GGS.
Then DD and SIL also Facetimed, just for a catch up, with coffee and a lot of nothingness, that we so miss now.

Today is DS2 wedding anniversary, and I forgot to send a card. Luckily DH said he had sent an electronic one, so we haven't completely forgotten them.

Sad to read yesterday about Jingles, she was much missed after her banishment.

Did anyone else have trouble sending PM's yesterday?

Now I must go and get myself ready to face the day.

Good morning all. Still snow and ice in Polmont. Grey skies today too. I was supposed to pick up my new specs today but I'm going to cancel as my road is still treacherous and it's very icy underfoot. I don't fancy falling. Grannyme6 welcome to this lovely place. I have no plans today and no valentine to share them with anyway. Dinner will be steak braised in Guinness and mash and then apple sponge. I might make biscuits later. Have a good day all.
