...what would it be about? With all this time on our hands, we could all start writing that book that we each have in us.

I’m torn between a murder mystery set in a boarding school with an ageing schoolmistress as the amateur sleuth, a scandalous history of my family as dredged up on Ancestry, and a ‘how to’ manual of ageing gracefully. One of those is way outside my area of expertise.

What would other GNetters write about?

I have been told that I should write an autobiography when I tell my tales of adventures, travels and events in my life. If I did it would be called Waiting for whales. Mainly because when I was living in the outer Hebrides whenever a whale was spotted I was always just too late arriving to see it.
My first husband has recently published a couple of semi autobiographies about his life in the education system, his life and his travels. Much to my horror they include an extraordinary chapter describing in detail our marriage and life together much of which is half remembered bitterness. I only got to know of this when my elder daughter told me about it and I read the offending material. This highly personal information caused a great deal of distress for both my daughters and myself.
