Your least favourite creatures

Spiders are top of the list and those leggy flying ones - Daddy longlegs. Don't like slugs either but quite like snails if they are not in my garden! Worms are good for the soil so I don't mind those. I could happily live without wasps, knats, clothes moths, head lice and bed bugs (although I've never seen any).

Are we allowed politicians? ?

Blossoming, a phobia is a phobia. Saying that gerbils are lovely doesn’t help.
I could say I love spiders and moths but that wouldn’t help those who don’t like them.
We’ll have to agree to disagree.

Slow worms, which is odd as I don't mind snakes. I think it started after seeing a nest of them many years ago.

My garden has so many which is great in that I have never seen a slug in the garden but cannot relax in summer as they always appear.

Snakes top of the list, and anything that doesn't have legs, I jump backwards when an earthworm appears when gardening. Loathe slugs and snails for the damage they do. Spiders I can tolerate, and will pick them up and put them outside, although not so keen on the one that bit me and left a big weal for a week (we are in UK!)
We had big cockroaches in our bedroom on honeymoon in Spain, not over keen.

My father had a thing about woodlice, used to refer to them as 'nose pickings'!!

When I was 10 m y mother and I moved house. The furniture had been covered in old sacks for the removal. I sat on the couch and suddenly looked down and saw an enormous cockroach in the corner. I will never forget the hysterical fuss I made and have a phobia about the damn things ever since. One day at work in an office when I was 17 the boys who worked there caught one and deliberately and stealthily put it on me. I didn’t notice at first but they managed to make me look down and see it. I screamed and ran screaming - they couldn’t calm me down and didn’t know what to do. We were in the reception of an old fashioned chartered accountants office and they knew if they couldn’t stop the noise they would be for the high jump. I eventually calmed down and can honestly say I have never seen people who have more regretted a practical joke!

Wasps. And any spider that looks big enough to fight back!

Anything that moves quickly and unpredictably, rodents, frogs and toads are at the top of the list. Strangely spiders and snakes don't bother me. As far as I know I've never been eye to eye with a cockroach, hoping it stays that way.

In my garden I had a piece of paving stone I called my Stone of Doom. Many a slug was squidged there under my welly. One day I slipped on the slimy stone doing myself a mischief in the process. I realised karma was at work. Nowadays slugs and snails get taken on holiday to nearby countryside.

Why is it those big, hairy spiders in the house seem to watch your every move?

Frogs and wasps , wish frogs would walk not leap and wasps sting, ouch

Alsatian and pit bull dogs. Never had a dog and like them generally. but these frighten me.
I grew up inner city and dogs just roamed about unchecked.

Slugs. I stood on a great big fat slimy brown one when I had bare feet. I actually felt it squelch up between my toes <not envy >. It got worse when I went to wash my foot in hot soapy water because the slime solidified and set into a horrible white gloop that I had to stretch off. Bleurgh!

Any creepy crawlie, and insects, but that doesn`t include snakes, caterpillars, butterflies and ladybirds. I love snakes and caterpillars, but will run a mile (if I could!) on sight of a worm. Hate slugs, but like snails, even though know they are slugs with shells. And I positively adore mice, don`t mind rats as long as they don`t come in the house, they`re just a large mouse really.
Wasps TERRIFY me more than any other creature, folk say keep still and it won`t bother you. IT WILL, and it does, and I can`t.

Any insect in particular moths and wasps. I can bear a ladybird until it opens it’s wings to fly. Leeches and eels are both horrific too! ?

Slugs - nobody could love a slug, poor things. They can’t help being the way they are.

There was a woman on TV recently (was it Winterwatch?) waxing lyrical about slugs and why we should love them. I wasn’t convinced.

I can’t stand mosquitos and wasps, though they seem to love me. And those awful bloated black flies my mother used to call flesh flies.

I’m sure they all have their useful place in the world, I just wish they’d stay out of mine.

Earwigs, millipedes,centipedes and the obligatory spiders...???????

I was desperate for a pet as a child......was quite happy with a slug or a snail in a jam jar ?

Snakes and cockroaches, from experiences in Singapore! Funnily enough I didn't worry about encountering them, or else I would never have gone out, just got on with everyday life, but did have a couple of events. Such as a snake going for my ankles, and cockroaches falling out of the bath towel as I got out of the shower. One of the hazards of living in the tropics.

Fleas. Before modern flea treatments, the cats often brought them in.

Spiders. I have nightmares if I find one in the flat. I have put a seal between the floor and skirting board, I don’t open the windows unless I sit by on watch while they are open. I go round every morning on the hunt for them, just in case.

I saw someone on here say she found tomato stalks hard to deal with, because of their spidery look.
I'm exactly the same.
I have to psych myself up to touch them, even when I know I've just pulled them off the tomato. Ridiculous!
