Hello Everyone smile
Just wanted to get this in first wink

Fancy some verbal jousting; a bit of rumble; a good old punch up?

Well, you're in the right place! Enjoy!

Any ideas for potential topics please?

FannyCornforth Thu 18-Feb-21 09:42:01

Can we start another argument please?

FannyCornforth Thu 18-Feb-21 09:43:51

Based on other threads perhaps (a TAAT! Naughty!)
Eg. Authors you want to shout at

grandmajet Thu 18-Feb-21 09:44:07

People with over long crusty toenails should pay a fine!

Can we start another argument please?

No, why should we.

DiscoGran Thu 18-Feb-21 09:54:42

How very dare you.

DiscoGran Thu 18-Feb-21 09:55:50

I'm rubbish at arguments, but I do like pretending to be outraged.

FannyCornforth Thu 18-Feb-21 10:09:05

FGS* Laura surely we are just rehashing the same old arguments regarding cushions?
I, for one, am finding this thread increasingly tedious.

*I can't bring myself to type the second 'F' blush

Greeneyedgirl Thu 18-Feb-21 10:11:56

I can’t stand Dunelm, as for their cushions - well.......I think cushions historically were only used as furnishings by the rich with big piles (not the sort from being constipated) and definitely not of the type of so called decorative accessories available for the bored over-consuming hoi polloi to purchase at aforementioned emporium.

ixion Thu 18-Feb-21 10:12:14

Still a lot more mileage on the cushion front, IMO.

Unless you want to swap knitting patterns?

ixion Thu 18-Feb-21 10:14:16

Do you prefer yours to be plump and firm or soft and squidgey?

Peasblossom Thu 18-Feb-21 10:19:34

Very cross that the important and contentious issue of cushions degenerated in Cushionfest.

?????????

LauraNorder Thu 18-Feb-21 10:23:19

Well Fanny, perhaps you should lay your poor head on a soft, plump cushion and think of a way to alleviate your ennui.

polomint Thu 18-Feb-21 10:32:18

12 pages on a discussion/arguments on cushions!! We must be either bored or looking for a bit of fun lol. Personally, I like cushions but only have a few...well maybe 6 or more. I have xmas cushions but wonder if there are any easter ones about. Has anyone thought of them...maybe egg shaped

Ellianne Thu 18-Feb-21 10:41:18

Oh c'mon, where's your stamina? Stick to the subject and keep making your point. That's what many a GNetter does.

Ellianne Thu 18-Feb-21 10:44:56

Any stinging comments about my cushions and I'll get them to swarm on you.

Ellianne Thu 18-Feb-21 10:48:10

Or snap at your heels.

muse Thu 18-Feb-21 10:49:22

Might come back if anyone's up for an argument about salt. Oh wink that's been done. How about socks?

Aveline Thu 18-Feb-21 10:52:38

What about socks? The poor relations of clothes. Nobody cares about them. It's heartless to continue to overlook them.

I missed that - was I deliberately excluded? I have plenty to say about both salt and sugar - I have many different types of each in my kitchen.

Ellianne Thu 18-Feb-21 10:56:53

Salt? Are you trying to kill off my cushion bugs muse? Or is that slugs?

suziewoozie Thu 18-Feb-21 10:57:34

Socks have become much more important to me during the pandemic. I don’t wear shoes or slippers in the house and have been building up an impressive array of socks - my latest purchase were multi coloured Nordic socks from Denmark and thereby hangs an interesting * tale of Brexit skullduggery and international crime

*well what passes for interesting by pandemic standards

FannyCornforth Thu 18-Feb-21 11:06:25

SALT? confused
Are you on glue?

(MN rubbish putdown)

grandmajet Thu 18-Feb-21 11:27:37

Socks deserve much more thought than they are given. Thick ones for wellies or snow boots. Nice pretty ones for if the shoes are coming off. Little shy ones for trainers.
Definitely not items to be ignored.

Peasblossom Thu 18-Feb-21 11:30:43

I have very large feet so can only wear men’s socks. The choice is dismal. Apart from Christmas.

Should I campaign for larger socks for women or more interesting socks for men!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 18-Feb-21 11:34:17

Peasblossom I have teeny weeny feet, find it difficult to get socks that aren’t Disney Characters or Super Heroes!!!
