So many birthdays! My baby will be 30 next week and it's sad we can't celebrate as we would like. Grandmafrench be careful of that arthritis or you'll be hirpling about. I have made homemade burgers and coleslaw for tea and it all looks truly scrumptious. Tomorrow will be window cleaning and then tidying the garden. Have a good evening all.

Just popping into the kitchen whilst dinner is cooking slowly in the oven. Chicken casserole with fresh veg and a glass of wine seen as it’s Saturday ?
Not much done today, it’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness with temperatures around 12º. I’ve done a bit of shopping this morning then a short stroll by the river in town, then popped some shopping round to DD2 house and got to see two DGC for a 5 minute chat. I’m happy enough though with that ?
Panache such a sad time for you, we all wish we could take some of the pain away. Hang onto those precious memories and look after yourself too
Hope Monday goes ok for you cornergran and buy yourself your favourite treat for as soon as the blood test is done.
So pleased to hear that our four legged kitchen companions are doing so very well ??
Happy 3rd Birthday to your great grandson soop such a lovely innocent age to be ?? my youngest DGS will be 4 next week and he too lives in England so I’ve not seen him since last August, but as soon as it’s allowed I’ll be there!

A phool moon, Grandmabatty - wasn't it wonderful? I sat out by the pool at midnight and phelt quite uplifted by the light and the sheer power of it all. Not heard of a Snow Moon before. Have certainly seen a Blood Moon and a Wolf Moon, but this one was new to me. We've had gorgeous weather and the same today. Very warm (17) and glorious sun and me moaning about my ankle and generally getting cross. Had very little sleep so have done nothing today (except for said moaning!). Then, out of the blue comes Nurse Topsy with suggestions for Acupuncture! Given that I'm always suggesting that to other people, you can see that the old pandemic brain is not firing on all cylinders.....I shall put it down to frustration and pain. So, grateful thanks to you and your phezzant - how posh - I will report back in, hopefully, a short while if I can get some treatment. Meanwhile take care of your knee!

What a pretty pair, Charlie and Duncan. Love ginger pusscats.
Had one like Charlie many years ago. Yiayia that puppy is gorgeous. Is he made up of bits of soft plush fabric? Far too decorative to be a real pup. Do hope your skin disorder calms down - skin problems are always really difficult to treat, aren't they?

Cats usually hate noise, and disruption to their routine and so I hope that young Fern will have crept back for some food and regular routine by now, soop, if your builder man is not there today. You must be careful with your toes (says she, specialist in all subjects and master of none). If you cut your nails- especially the big toe nails - too short, or you mangle them, you will have problems. Don't cut them down the sides or too low, either. I ended up with a sad big toe and an ingrown toenail as a result of that. You've got some full on medical appointments arranged for you and your lovely man soon - any news from The Botty Doc recently, or have you decided to give him a swerve for the foreseeable?

Wonderful Amaryllis, puzzler but then I suspect you're a bit of a flower person. Do I detect a glimpse of an Aeonium in the photo? Now, with those I have become quite good - plant pots full of them in my courtyard. They're so striking when they turn almost black. And they seem to love our climate here.

Wishing and hoping that you've all had some happiness today and small successes to cheer you. Have a good evening and don't forget to take care of your special selves, everyone. Keep safe, sane and smiling.

Hugs from French France ??

Panache, thanks from me too for taking the time to let us know how you and your dear man are doing. Take things gently!

We have done some gardening today and I washed the garden table. We then put the umbrella in place opened it up and it rained ladybirds. We spent quite some time turning them over on to their legs. I wish I could tell whether they were good ladybirds or bad ones. If the latter we are in big trouble - there were dozens and dozens!!

Yiayia4 Sat 27-Feb-21 17:12:39

Panache your in my thoughts and prayers you are so strong?

Blade Annie what a nice thing to do for Cats Protection they do so much good.
Soop that black cat will be back soon for her posh nosh?‍⬛All good wishes for tests and dentals next week will be thinking of you.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Saturday evening.Keep safe.

cornergran Sat 27-Feb-21 17:07:08

I’m so sorry panache, my thanks for taking time to pop in here with us. Please try to eat even if just a little, you need to maintain your strength.

Foggy morning here so it was off to the tip to dispose of yesterday’s destruction of a shrub. Mr C is really not safe with anything sharp in a garden.

Once we could see the fence we ventured out. The front garden is tidy again, hooray. I pressed on with the back while Mr C climbed aloft to put a ‘hedgehog’ or two in the conservatory gutter. Somehow he managed to cut a hand in several places. Inside we came with me being my usual sympathetic self telling him not to bleed on the carpet! hmm. Wounds dressed he went back to finish, I decided enough for one day and retreated indoors where I could no longer see his precarious balancing act. How do we keep the male feet safely on the ground? I’m not sure my nerves will take any more climbing.

Pleased Mya and Sam are bouncing back. We’ll be sympathising with Sam on March 8th n&g, an injection into my knee followed by a blood test for Mr C. Good luck to all with health appointments on the horizon, hope all goes well. Monday I have a fasting blood test, can’t wait hmm. Not even allowed a cuppa before it. Suspect the nurse won’t see me at my most cheerful. grin.

Time to become the kitchen fairy. All the exercise has made us hungry.

Take care everyone TOYA.

Grandmafrench Sat 27-Feb-21 17:02:18

Panache, you poor darling. We all feel so bad that you're both suffering and we can't help you. Hold on tightly to him and treasure your peaceful moments together. Please try to take some care of yourself too, a little food and some rest to get you through this pain. xx

Grandmabatty Sat 27-Feb-21 16:55:49

Panache my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I wish I knew you in real life and could give you a hug.

Panache Sat 27-Feb-21 16:41:28

Time to say hello to my lovely friends in Soop`s sanctuary.

The weather in our corner of Wales has been outstanding the last few days, today it is particularly warm and inviting outdoors.
Many of our residents are enjoying a stroll in our gardens.
That of course, sadly, just reminds us of last March and lockdown when the weather was also very favourable,we both enjoyed many hours walking and sitting outside.

Of course this hurts all the more now.
Everything it seems just hurts.

My dear one is now relatively pain free thankfully, but he is so utterly frail, fading away far too fast and all I can do is stand helplessly by.
This tall, strong, smiling man,a friend to all............now but a mere shadow.
I am mainly kept busy trying to hide away from all that is happening, there is plenty to do, whilst I do all the nursing care as yet..............but food and sleep elude me daily.

May I wish you all a peaceful and pleasant weekend.

BladeAnnie Sat 27-Feb-21 16:30:41

Good afternoon lovely people from a sunny and pleasant mid-Notts. I did an online felting session in aid of Cats Protection this morning. Something I'd never done before but I really enjoyed making my little cat and it was all in aid of a good cause. Mr BA is busy downstairs making a noise in the workshop while I have a quiet and calm few minutes with a herbal tea and Duncan purring gently on my lap. Perfectual smile. Taste the difference pizza to tonight and of course - wine. Cheers wine and have an enjoyable evening

soop Sat 27-Feb-21 16:25:01

Nannytopsy How lovely for you to have had a walk with little family members through a nature reserve. It is great grandson's third birthday today. I would be in seventh heaven if we could do something similar with him. However, we must remain patient and await for the right time to travel from Scotland into England.
I've been wrestling with another birthday parcel, and my patience with sellotape and suchlike is frayed.

Although I have no inclination to ride the exercise bike for 30 mins today, I shall settle for a 20 minute gentle spin instead.

Panache remains in my thoughts. As do all of our Kitcheners with problems to bear. Please may tomorrow be kind to everyone. smile moon

Nannytopsy Sat 27-Feb-21 15:57:52

Wow soop that’s a bit too much excitement! We have a decorator coming tomorrow to give quotes for two jobs.
Had a phonecall this morning suggesting a walk with DS’s little family at a nearby nature reserve which was great fun on such a beautiful morning. DH grateful as it saved him a job with some guttering ...
Rugby then a takeaway curry tonight ?

soop Sat 27-Feb-21 14:30:40

Hearing that Sam and Mya are eating well and that the felines are all looking rather regal as they rest their eyes, makes me smile.

Yiayia Boris is a cuddlesome boy. I wish that I could spend an afternoon with him. Although it would be difficult to hand him back to his rightful owners.

"our black cat" has been missing for almost 48 hours. It must be due to the noise and comings and goings of the builder. Mind you, he left at six last evening. We certainly expected her to visit at some time during the evening for a slap-up supper.

We've a very exciting time ahead. Mr Soop needs to have bloods taken in readiness for a catch up with the haematologist. We both have dental appointments. The week after next, I have breast scan at the Vale of Leven Hospital near Glasgow. We certainly know how to enjoy ourselves. wink

I've a parcel to wrap and a few odd jobs to perform. After which, I shall return.

Grandmabatty Sat 27-Feb-21 13:14:30

I'm very jealous of the dog photos. I have had three lovely dogs and loved them all. However I no longer want to go out when it's horrible weather not go out for walks when it's dark so I've given up my dog days. It doesn't stop me missing them though. I've had the excitement of an Aldi run and I have done the housework, changed bedding and cleaned what needed. I'm going to change the dining room look soon for a spring look. I have Easter/spring ornaments and I'll put them out next week. Next will be opening up the summer house and cleaning it. I hope you have a good day all.

Puzzler61 Sat 27-Feb-21 12:40:14

I do too Doodle - it’s a misery you don’t need just when the weather gets nice X

Yiayia4 Sat 27-Feb-21 12:26:22

Good to hear our doggy pals are doing well. This is a photo of Boris the new grandpuppy arriving soon.
Hope the hay fever is a bit easier today Doodle

annodomini Sat 27-Feb-21 11:03:49

N&G, oh those low-flying jets! When we lived in Norfolk one of my cats would dive for cover - under a sofa or a big chest of drawers; when we moved north, his refuge was in the pantry, behind the freezer. His companion never turned a hair at loud noises, but could always hear me opening the fridge, no matter where he was in the vicinity.
Fatigue got me yesterday and I had to sleep in the afternoon. When the phone rang, I thought I'd just awoken from a night's sleep and answered, 'Good morning'. My friend laughed and thought I'd been joking. blush

Puzzler61 Sat 27-Feb-21 09:54:16

It’s made me happy this morning to read that both Sam and Mya are doing well. It’s due to the love care you have bestowed on them Nan@&G and Muse.
I am thinking too about Georgesgran and her DH, and the Panaches too. ? ?

NanaandGrampy Sat 27-Feb-21 08:49:38

Morning all,

Glad to hear Mya is doing well Muse, long may it last!!

Sam is doing very well Soop , we had a lovely walk in the forest yesterday which cheered us all up. Sam's op is scheduled for the 8th March , the vet assured us that it will be an easy one but I'm not looking forward to the inevitable battle to stop him scratching the wound !

We've had some blue sky sunny days here which cheer me up so much.

Our walk in the forest was not a quiet one as these bad boys were flying low and fast. I swear they made my fillings vibrate lol - I'll add a pic x

muse Fri 26-Feb-21 21:50:43

Two days of news to catch up with. Lovely to see all the flower and cat photos. Must get an amaryllis this year.

Mya continues to love her new food. 6 days now. I'm still rising early to make sure she's OK with her morning poop. I have gone back to bed a few times.

Hate my big toes. Like you grandmabatty I attack them too viciously. MrM has found me some extra strong clippers.

On Mya's afternoon walk we met a family. Mum asked if her daughter could stroke Mya. She loved it. Apparently Mya was the image of their last dog called Fly. Mya has 4 breeds in her. 3 were the same as Fly. Husky, German shepherd and Collie.
Quite a coincidence.

Seeds and strawberries beckon me tomorrow

Sleep soundly everyone.

Grandmabatty Fri 26-Feb-21 21:20:38

It's lovely JaxJacky. The moonlight is shining in my bedroom.

Evening all (must be an echo Urms?)
Lovely photos all. Brilliant way of getting the ironing done BladeAnnie ?
Lovely day today but the weather is playing havoc with my hay fever. I’ve discovered dark glasses and a large face mask cover up a multitude of things. Red puffy eyes, no make up, pale skin. What with that and the witch like hair at the moment I somehow don’t think the glamour magazines will be asking me to pose for them. ?
Have a good weekend all.
