All good pals and jolly good company.

soop Fri 19-Mar-21 14:32:05

N&G Are we thrilled to hear the news that we've been waiting for with fingers crossed? You bet. WONDERFUL! If I could, I would join you for a bacon roll to celebrate.

Hellogirl1 I shall not be entirely happy until Mia is home where she belongs. I would hug you, if I could, just to let you know that I understand how you are feeling with no news of her whereabouts.

muse We two are awaiting our second "jags". Could be in a month or so.

brook Snap! We also enjoyed home cooked fish and chips last night. My favourite meal of the week.

Doodle A medicinal wine is greatly under valued. It's Friday. G&T at nine o'clock on the dot. grin

The weather is glorious. The sea looks very like shot taffeta. We did walk but the drop-bot was non cooperative and we had to settle for a shorter stroll than we are used to having.

The plant is beginning to look absolutely stunning. there are two buds yet to open.

Puzzler61 Fri 19-Mar-21 09:33:56

It’s a momentous day for Sam!
He will love re-discovering the forest walks and smells. Enjoy the bacon rolls too.
What a lovely day for you Nana&Grampy - the first of many more to come with the companionship of your beloved Sam who has become a bit of a celebrity here in the kitchen ?

NanaandGrampy Fri 19-Mar-21 09:04:48

Morning all,

Its a bright, blue sky start to the day here . Sam is sat by the front door with his lead in his mouth looking hopeful !! Grampy looks quite hopeful too LOL

They haven't been allowed out for a walk since Sam's op but today is the day !! Just a short walk in the forest but we have really missed getting outside.

Not only that --- and I shall whisper this..... the drive through Greggs is open and I'm getting a bacon roll to enjoy after the walk !!

Its the little things :-)

Hopefully the mention of the reward will motivate people to look in sheds etc Hellogirl . It would be lovely to hear Mia is home .

Hey ho- off we go!!

muse Fri 19-Mar-21 00:40:29

Late again visiting the kitchen. Fell asleep after all the digging today. Quick post then off to bed.
Love the news from the Soop homestead. I too think she is leading a double life.
I'm sure Mia is safe and will return soon.
Pleased about Sam.
Sorry about your news Urm. Our friends are still struggling with the loss of a son (nearly a year now). For them it was his depression that hit hard with the onset of the pandemic.

More digging tomorrow whilst the weather is good. Fine and dry. Just dandy smile

No news from son. Perhaps tomorrow. I just hope he is managing to get a weekend without work so he can spend some quality time with his daughter.

Anyone had their 2 vaccination yet? We hope to hear next month.

Hellogirl1 Thu 18-Mar-21 23:18:43

Thank you Corner, and thank you everyone for wishing Mia home. I posted flyers through doors today, but no results as yet. I even added a reward.
Susan, I hope you`re feeling much better by tomorrow.
Great news about Sam N&G, you must be so relieved.
Urmston, I`m so sorry, I meant to add my sympathy earlier regarding the poor young man who has died. His family must be devastasted.

cornergran Thu 18-Mar-21 22:44:42

Good news about Sam and Fern. I’m delighted. Now we just need Mia back home safely, I feel for you hellogirl, sending a hug.

brook2704 Thu 18-Mar-21 21:52:17

Such good news that Fern is back soop I’m so pleased! And N&G good news about Sam too, hellogirl it’s just Mia still missing .... hopefully she’ll be back soon..
sorry you’ve not been feeling 100% Susan I know how exhausting looking after little ones can be - hope you have a better day tomorrow
I’m late in the kitchen this evening as I’ve been busy this morning in the garden and then we went out for a walk this afternoon, when I got home I just flopped on the sofa and couldn’t keep my eyes open... DH bless him got our tea ready, just homemade fish and chips and I was gentle awakened with it all ready and on the table ?
Enjoy your ? doodle even though of course it’s for medicinal purposes ..I’m trying to wait until tomorrow - but wish I wasn’t!

Doodle Thu 18-Mar-21 20:28:40

Urms it is indeed sad news. Poor family.
Soop good to hear Fern is back now we are waiting on Mia.
N&G you must be so pleased with Sam’s results. Hopefully the wound will heal soon and he will be fighting fit again.
I have been on the phone all day today. I am exhausted and have a dry throat so I have poured myself a medicinal ?.
TOYA ?

Urmstongran Thu 18-Mar-21 19:27:17

‘Evening Akk’
?

I had a lovely walk this afternoon with my walking buddy. Armed with takeaway coffees we strolled for two hours. Wonderful.

I’m so pleased to hear that Fern is back soop! Your heart will be lighter tonight. And N&G such great news that Sam’s biopsy showed a benign lump. Expensive, but those pet insurance payments make such a difference when settling the account. Now, just Mia to worry over Hellogirl. Let’s hope we can make it a triple celebration by weekend.
?

Hope everyone here has a peaceful night ahead. Thank you for the kind words about that poor young man. He was my last thought at bedtime and my first this morning. The ripples of anguish for his family must be unbearable. x

‘Goodnight All’.

Puzzler61 Thu 18-Mar-21 19:26:23

Sorry to hear your sad news Urmston of the death of one so young.

Things to be joyous about:
soop Fern Is Back! I think you might expect her to come and go - she is leading a double life methinks.
And Sam’s tumour was benign. Great news! May his recuperation soon be complete N&G.
I’d love to read that Mia is back ASAP, I can understand how upset her disappearance is making you Hellogirl.
Susan I hope tomorrow is a better day for you healthwise.

It’s been a chilly day and I’m now going to toast my toes by the fire. Wishing all a peaceful evening.

Yiayia4 Thu 18-Mar-21 19:24:16

Great news Soop and N&G so hope Mia comes home next?

dustyangel Thu 18-Mar-21 18:54:25

So happy for you soop and Mr. soop. I kept thinking to myself that cats are a law unto themselves and remembering the time ours disappeared and then mewed outside in middle of the night. DH said he’d never seen me clear the stairs so quickly! Now crossed fingers can concentrate on Mia’s safe return.

Bellanonna Thu 18-Mar-21 18:36:43

soop that’s exciting news. I’m so pleased for you.
N&G. That’s good news too!

Grandmabatty Thu 18-Mar-21 18:30:52

Well this is a good day. Fern has returned. She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. And Sam has a fairly clean bill of health. All we need is Mia to return.
I have pottered in the house and garden all day and even sat out in the summer house. The better weather has me craving for company and hopefully it won't be too long til friends can get together. Urmstongran that was very sad news. ?
I am off to take the homemade pizza out of the oven so I hope you all have a good evening.

Nannytopsy Thu 18-Mar-21 18:20:19

Fern’s back! Congratulations soop and Mr soop so glad she’s home!
It’s been pretty wet today but tomorrow it will be better. I will get into the garden or at least the greenhouse!

NanaandGrampy Thu 18-Mar-21 18:15:37

Evening all,

Just a passing visit as a certain small someone is waiting for his dinner :-)

The tumour ( the name of which escapes me) was benign and having removed it with good clear margins is unlikely to reoccur. Sam's breed is not prone to them so this was an unlucky one off , thank goodness.

His stitches were removed and he has to go back in a week for a final check up as there is a little bit of squishiness ( I am reliably informed that's a technical term ;-) ) so swabs have been taken to make sure he really is infection free.

Don't ever let anyone tell you pets don't remember- for the first time ever he got out of the car- saw the nurse and jumped straight back in again ! He had to be carried in looking a bit miffed !

So all's well, that ends well . £2000 for a spot - thank god for insurance !!

I am so glad to hear Fern has returned and looks no worse for wear. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed for Mia .

Happy evening all xx

Susan56 Thu 18-Mar-21 18:11:51

Brilliant news soop that Fern has returned??we just need Mia home now??and for Sam to have a good report from the vets.

Yiayia, so sorry to hear your cousin is so unwell. As soop says hopefully the vaccine will have given him the antibodies he needs to fight the virus.

Hope your daughter soon finds a suitable property kitty and good luck with your move Luckygirl.

Had a day of childcare today and another one tomorrow?I haven’t been feeling 100% the last couple of days so DH has been in charge of the whirlwind that is Henry??

kittylester Thu 18-Mar-21 17:48:59

Hellogirl, I'm sorry to hear that Mia hasn't come home. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Urmston what sad news. It really shakes one doesn't it?

Brilliant news, soop. Fern should realise where her best life lies!

Galen, how are you? And panache.

We've had a busy day - DD3 is hoping to cover near to us and they have sold their house on day 1. Panic stations.

TOYA

Hellogirl1 Thu 18-Mar-21 17:17:40

So happy for you Soop, I hope that Mia follows suit now, I sit here in tears every morning when she`s not outside.
I hope that Sam is OK N&G, and feeling better.

Jaxjacky Thu 18-Mar-21 17:15:28

Urms sad news, after such a pleasant day and Yia hopefully some antibodies from the jab will be doing their job.
One cat back, one to go; we don’t have cats, never had pets, but I’m vicariously involved with others pets, thinking of Sam too, what’s going on? And no, not about to change our ways ?
Another afternoon at Cheltenham with my 25p’s each way after walk, shower, floor washing and dusting this morning, I know how to live!
ttfn.

Grandmafrench Thu 18-Mar-21 17:10:36

Hallelujah !??.....I just KNEW she'd be back! She has a complicated life, soop - we've never got to the bottom of that little friend she brought home so recently. She's fine, she's well and she's back. I'm so thrilled for you, I just whooped!!!!!!!

Just that other little minx now. Fingers and toes and everything crossed. Have a happy evening.

soop Thu 18-Mar-21 17:03:33

Let joy be unconfined. I was riding the exercise bike when Mr Soop whispered in my ear - there's a black cat sitting on the utility room mat. I was that excited I almost toppled off. That happened at about 4:30. Two dishes of food polished off. Fern doesn't look disheveled. Clean, as always. I managed to take a photo about fifteen minutes ago. Not the best...but...who cares.

Please may Callgirl1 have similarly good news very soon.

On this happy note, I wish you all something to smile about. Take good care because there will be better times ahead. Until tomorrow smile moon

Luckygirl Thu 18-Mar-21 16:37:54

Charleygirl5- I too have been freecycling a lot in preparation for my move next Thursday - it is lovely to see people going away with something that they really want.

urmstongran I am sorry to hear about this poor lad. And Yiayia I wish your cousin a speedy recovery - let us hope the vaccination will aid his recovery.

Up to eyes in packing boxes and dust and cobwebs and dead woodlice! Makes me ashamed of my absence of cleaning power.

Charleygirl5 Thu 18-Mar-21 14:47:23

I gave away today, via Freecycle, one of my many hoovers (don't ask) and a very pleasant young man picked it up on time and gave me a box of chocolates which did surprise me. I am not a fan of boxes of chocolates so I gave them to my builder for his wife. This fellow was not interested in the make- he was obviously desperate so I was happy to oblige. A couple of weeks ago another fellow wanted a kettle, my nearly new one is not a designer make so he was uninterested.

Another local is looking for a low mileage car costing around £1500- he will be searching for a long time I think.

N&G after Sam's trip to the vet later I hope he will be more comfortable tonight.

I am really worried about those pesky cats. They have no idea how much they upset their mums.

Nannytopsy I wish that I could crochet. It's a pity that you do not live next door. I admire your skill.

Doodle I'm reading 'The Street Lawyer' at the moment. Previously, I read 'The Partner'. I enjoy John Grisham's work. I have to admit that, at times, I lose the plot. Still, who cares. wink
Naturally you treated yourself to a T shirt. A lady cannot have too many T shirts.

Jaxjacky Your tray-bake sounds delicious.
Still no sign of you know who. The villagers have been informed. They are on Fern watch-out.

Urmstongran Sad news indeed about the death of your friend's son. flowers

corner What are you? A star, that's what. smile

Message for Sam, us lot are very fond of you. And that includes you N&G

Yiayia That virus is a buggeration. It will be a very long time, methinks, before we can feel that it is under control. I hope that the jab that he had a few weeks ago, will help him to fight the virus. He'll have some antibodies. A VERY good reason for having the vaccine.
