Can someone please enlighten me in letting me know what was wrong in Harry and meghan saying "service is universal"? Surely it is. We also like to help each other and provide a service to each other when we can, that's what I'd like to believe anyway. Isn't this what they meant? There's seems to be a lot of H & M bashing again over this, however, it's all gone quiet over Prince Andrew's alleged sexual relationship with an underage girl. Am I missing something?

Are they no longer Harry and Megan but Haz and Meg ?

He has her on his phone as M, she called him Haz when James Corden called her. It was on one of the endless clips of his interview.

I have a stupidly eidetic type memory for these snippets and it drive me potty!

At the time of the South Africa tour, when ‘Meg’ was being interviewed by Tom Bradby, I remember her referring to ‘H’. (Harry).

Tom queried this, and with a little smile, ‘Meg’ confirmed that was what she calls him.

Obviously ‘H’ has now become ‘Haz’.

Is it true that threads are only allowed 1000 posts? If so, there’s only 153 to go.

Then we can start another one! Hurrah!

trisher your use of Katharine was shameful, no one has said
anything unkind about Megan’s miscarriage, you used an
abortion, still birth and a nervous breakdown suffered by one woman, it has shocked posters, a case of rock bottom and still
drilling .

So now we have a list of people who can and can't be brought into a discussion. Quite what the boundaries are I'm not absolutely sure, perhaps someone can enlighten me. Women who have miscarriages can be criticised but only some of them can be discussed? It's OK to make dismissive and rude remarks about one woman but not to mention another in the same family? It's called double standards sn't it?

What kind of person finds amusement in a stillbirth and breakdown?

The kind who doesn't want to contemplate what that must be like and who would rather die on the hill of their own opinion than back down and admit they were insensitive and judgmental. Not worth your upset.

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 19:09:46

No interest Paddyanne? But maybe in their photographs?

I was really shocked when Katharine Kent was used in an attempt to have a kick at the royal family,

Katherine worked on the phone lines for the Samaritans, delivered meals on wheels, never once did this get in the papers or where there were cameras

And she didn’t write on bananas

Ellianne Sat 27-Feb-21 18:54:51

Its just amusement and you never disappoint me .
Exactly, paddyanne, and Meghan and Harry never disappoint us either in terms of amusement.

Peasblossom Sat 27-Feb-21 18:54:35

I’m not ashamed of my knickers being in a twist about paddyannes posts on Katherine Kent.

To exploit another’s painful experience for your own ends is morally bankrupt. To fabricate tales and deny that person’s experience for your own ends shows a disregard for their pain. To try to deflect protests about what you have done by contemptuous remarks about a different person only reveals an inability to face anything honestly.

Yes, thank God, I can still get myself worked up about these things.

NellG Sat 27-Feb-21 18:43:14

Paddyanne full commando here! Haha. It's just gossip, of course it makes no difference, I doubt ANY conversation on here makes a difference. I follow the SNP threads, lots of comments some very interesting and insightful, some utterly ridiculous (IMO) - none of them make a difference and are just as much about people who neither know or care that they exist. Just as amusing when people have a conniption there as it is here. It's still grown women losing their shit over someone else's opinion. In the words of Maximus Decimus Meridius "are you not entertained?!!"

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 18:39:36

thanks NellG, ?

Pantglas2 Sat 27-Feb-21 18:34:03

I don’t have problems with them leaving the royal family or uk for a future that suits them better, isn’t that what we’ve all done?

However I don’t like the ‘poor hard-done-by us’ by two very privileged people. The Queen hasn’t had an easy life in spite of what some people think, evidenced by the fact that not one
of us would swap places with her.

I wish The Sussexes well in their ventures.

NellG Sat 27-Feb-21 18:32:00

Certainly comes across that way Ellianne, M & Haz! Just your ordinary everyday couple... It's a tad...off. Like a cracked bell, it has no resonance if that makes sense. It just feels like a con - reality TV in a similar being to TOWIE, real people, semi scripted.

Bridgeit It's a way of showing who you're replying to, it's supposed to make it clearer which comment relates to which post. I sometimes do it if I'm responding to a post that's a page or two back, so that people don't just see a comment that looks random. In a fast moving thread it can help. If you wanted to use it, you'd click 'quote' in the bar above the comment. It does take a bit of getting used to though.

Anniebach Sat 27-Feb-21 18:31:11

Ellaianne yes she had to be in it ,

paddyanne Sat 27-Feb-21 18:27:45

When there was talk of Steady Eddie being sent to live in Holyrood to give permanent"royal presence " here the photo that was doing the rounds was him dressed in his Its a Knockout costume with a huge playing card of the Joker ...seems the idea has been dropped..lol.
As someone who has no interest in H and M I look into these posts to see a lot of mature women get their knickers in atwist about someone who neither knows they exist nor cares less .Its just amusement and you never disappoint me .

Ellianne Sat 27-Feb-21 18:22:52

This is purely a tiny observation, so please humour me! In the Corden video which was supposedly just him and Harry chatting together, I noticed Meghan had to appear, albeit on the phone. It was definitely planned and set up because her hair and make up were immaculate and she had carefully chosen the dress.
What I am saying is, they are both very cleverly getting themselves as much coverage as possible at every opportunity. That is what they want.

NellG Sat 27-Feb-21 18:05:44

I think that pretty much sums it all eazybee, there's a lot that's gone before with this I think.

Can anyone remember back in maybe the 70's? When some of the RF took part in It's a Knockout? As I recall them trying for the 'common touch' by attempting to be relatable on what was a fairly popular TV programme backfired spectacularly as a PR stunt. I think her Maj and the advisors to 'the firm' made a decision of 'Never Again'. I think this was why she wanted the 1969 documentary withdrawn too. The RF and populace just don't gel that way. ( sorry it the dates are wrong, posting form memory rather than reference).

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 18:00:46

No I mean the entire post is inside a box.

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 17:59:57

Or have them published?

Iam64 Sat 27-Feb-21 17:59:54

Bridge it - do you mean the quotes that appear before a comment on the quote

Bridgeit Sat 27-Feb-21 17:59:34

Eazybee, did they write the comments ?
