Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in Brackley at the present moment but remains dry.
Today , as to watching sport such as cycling is live on Eurosport midmorning today ,and all the week so that will occupy my mind, to watch a real vent taking place although its from the UAE states .
Otherwise , I will have a quiet day , and hopefully see what is said later as to lockdown .
Take care,
Mick

Good Morning all from dreich Harrogate. Your Dh grandMattie Is stuck in his rigid ways like mine, is he a Virgo perchance? Mine won't have salad in Winter or Ice cream because they are summer food. Whatever I ask him to do there is a too in front of his excuse, too hot, too cold, too late, too early, too big, too small, too many, too few
- it drives me utterly bananas!! Glad Iris is recovering.
Nothing much planned today apart from chatting to my school friend, and then to my sister.
You sound a bit brighter Marydoll I take it you are feeling better!
Hope those worries and ailments will blow away today - tomorrow is another day!

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where it is 6°C and cloudy. I can still remember the first time I saw snow proper Bellasnana I was nearly 10 and we had just arrived from NZ by ship. A journey of 6 weeks crossing the equator and including a day at Sydney zoo when we nearly melted along with the poor animals. Snow was so exciting though the novelty wore off when I developed chilblains.
Happy Birthday to your DGD. One minute they are born and the next they are teenagers.

I think a few of us watched Countryfile with a new insider knowledge Sheepandcattle Although you seem to be doing all the work yourself.

Our DGD begins back at real school today. I was sent a poignant photo of her with her face mask on for the bus.

Congratulations baubles Happy Anniversary
I am glad you sound more upbeat today Marydoll but please show him the Jaxjacky cartoon before he begins! grin

Have the best day you can everyone.

ginny Mon 22-Feb-21 09:51:35

Good morning. Drizzly here in N. Bucks . Hope it clears so we can enjoy a short walk.
Glad to hear Marydoll is feeling brighter today and Iris is doing bettter.
Great cake Grandmabatty
So many people to send good wishes to. Please accept ? .
Events over the last couple of weeks gave me quite a health scare but has focused my mind on improving my diet and exercise . So hope these measures will help.
Thanks for the good wishes yesterday.
Maybe we will hear today that we will soon be able to see loved ones in the flesh and actually be able to sit and have a proper chat. That will help too.
Hope you all find a ?today.

Bellasnana Mon 22-Feb-21 09:40:09

Grandmabatty happy birthday to Logan. Thanks to you and all who wished Bella a happy birthday. I shall pass on your good wishes when I speak to her. She has just had a weekend in Nashville where she discovered she loves snow! It was her first time seeing it.

Happy Anniversary to Mr&MrsBaubles have a lovely day.

CherryCezzy Mon 22-Feb-21 09:37:27

Good morning everyone from the Gower. It's dry and there's blue sky here this morning and it seems to be warming up ☺️

I'm actually going out today! Exciting? Well no not really as it's just a blood pressure check at the GP's. Happy to get out though, even for something like this ?. To be fair we're also popping into the village, a needs must visit to the post office. Even though I'm shielding I have to go as it's not safe for me to be left alone for the length of time it will take my WP to do it on his own. An excuse to have a little stroll along the sea front too, yippee ?
I only hope my blood pressure check shows a good result, especially after watching yesterday's blood pumping footie match ?

Happy birthday to your DGS, GrandmaB and your DGD Bellasnana ??
Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs baubles ??
Congratulations to the "teenage* ewe Sheepandcattle ☺️

Good luck with the instruction supervision today *Marydoll and stay wrapped up and warm.

flowers for those who are feeling unwell, sad or just plain fed up.

Be kind to yourselves everyone and stay safe ❤️

Good morning from a bright Norfolk. I don’t post very often (I tend to read the thread too late to contribute) but I love keeping up with everyone’s lives and hearing about the ups and downs.

It was beautiful here yesterday and I spent time in the garden including sitting out for half an hour in the sunshine. Like OP I couldn’t be bothered to mow the grass but did plant some vegetable seeds in tubs and vegetable bags, hoping it won’t turn too nasty weather wise before spring proper arrives.

Today will be more of the same and I will mow the grass if it stays dry.

Hoping all those with worries and strife have a peaceful day. flowers for all who need cheering up

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary, damp South Yorkshire. Nothing much planned today except to go out and buy some seed trays so that I can get some trays of compost warmed up in the conservatory ready to sow dahlias, zinnias and cosmos - easy to grow from seed, and cheerful. Baking may be on the agenda too.
Sheep now they can hear a lamb, it might be the kick start all your other girls need to get going! You’ll be up to your knees in them before long! Well done to the first time mummy!
Have a good day folks.

GrannyOwl5 Mon 22-Feb-21 09:21:34

Morning everyone from the north Kent coast where it is a bit cloudy, but dry and mild.

DH has gone off happily to the allotment so I have an empty for a couple of hours. I can play music very loudly whilst doing a bit of flicking with a duster and letting the hoover have a rare outing without DH appearing asking for the music to be turned down!

Like the rest of you will be seeing later this evening what restrictions are being loosened; think it will be slow and steady wins the race. We shall see.

Glad that Iris is doing well and that the lambs are appearing. Happy anniversary Mr&Mrsbaubles.

Hope those with illnesses and worries have a better day. Hope everyone has a good Monday. Stay safe

grannysyb Mon 22-Feb-21 09:18:05

Good morning from a rather grey Teddington. Must buy fruit and make a loaf today, love the breadmaker! Sad about the ewe, sheepandcattle, hopefully a few more lambs today. Hope everyone with sad days and difficulties get through today.

polomint Mon 22-Feb-21 09:01:12

Good morning from central Scotland. Glad you are feeling better marydoll and happy anniversary to baubles. Lovely sunny day here. Keep safe everyone

Nannagarra Mon 22-Feb-21 08:56:59

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is overcast and damp. The latest sign of Spring is the sticky buds of balsam poplar which, when pressed, emit the sweet smell of cough candy. As temperatures rise, the air will be filled with the scent.
Lovely to hear about the little white lamb, of happy birthdays for GC and Iris’s continuing recovery.
Have the best day you can everyone. ?

harrigran Mon 22-Feb-21 08:56:53

Good mornng from an overcast and drizzly NE.
DH has a hospital appointment for blood tests and check that his immune system is holding up.
DD skyped us yesterday afternoon, lovely to see her and SIL but one of the foster cats had a daft half hour. The cat was jumping on the back of SIL's chair and clambering all over, put me in mind of the Simon's cat cartoons.
Lovely to hear of the new lamb and sad about the lost twins.
Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Mon 22-Feb-21 08:53:56

Actually oliversnana perhaps the tears are genuine? Ones of regret perhaps for missed opportunities.... my sister hardly ever saw our mum and was full of remorse and ‘if onlys’ when she died - 3y ago next month. Her choice, but she definitely was very upset. All too late really and no chance to make amends.

Alygran Mon 22-Feb-21 08:51:12

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is raining.
I had a productive day outside yesterday, washing the car and garage doors then doing some gardening. I wish I had mowed the lawn but couldn’t be bothered. Hopefully we have dry weather later this week and I can do it then.
This week it’s all about Zoom! Today it’s a practice for out first webinar later this week.
Wishing everyone with sadness and struggles a better day.
Stay safe everyone.

Beechnut Mon 22-Feb-21 08:48:29

Wishing a Happy anniversary to Mr&Mrsbaubles ??

Marydoll Mon 22-Feb-21 08:45:21

Happy anniversary, baubles, The sun has come out here, a good omen for your day!

oliversnana Mon 22-Feb-21 08:43:00

Urmstongran my sister for 1 usual rubbish when someone dies. she lived round the corner and rarely visited or helped. Now she a weeping mess

Urmstongran Mon 22-Feb-21 08:40:24

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s damp but mild. After a busyish weekend it a ‘nothing’ day today. granMattie I wouldn’t want to swing my legs out of bed on Monday mornings! I hate set days.
#lazygran

I intend to finish my book by Jenni Murray today. I’m loving it. Before that we need to decide what meals we fancy from the larder and Himself will go down and fetch the necessary.

Florida seems literally like another world right now doesn’t it Bellasnana? As you say at least we have technology, so you can see & chat to your 10y old granddaughter. Sad day for you oliversnana but I’m confused as to who will be shedding crocodile tears?

Hope Monday will be good to us all. I hope Boris isn't too cautious - after all, a third of adults have now been vaccinated and many scientists think we have reached herd immunity already. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

baubles Mon 22-Feb-21 08:37:59

Wonderful cake grandmaB

Happy birthday to your DGS and to Bellas DGD.

GrannySomerset Mon 22-Feb-21 08:36:30

We actually have a something happening day! We have a huge prunus in the back garden which needs reducing and I have been waiting for nearly a year for the chaps to come - it needs two of them, and by the time we were out of lockdown last year it was in full leaf and so nothing could be done. But today’s the day, weather permitting, and it will be a good job done - I hope! I’ll think of you, Marydoll!

Otherwise more of the same, and thinking of Georgesgran, Auntieflo and all those with too much to cope with.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Feb-21 08:36:11

Good morning from a grey, damp S Hants, it rained overnight. Good news on Iris, onwards. I too watched Countryfile yesterday and thought of you sheep. gaga good to know you’re not forgotten and Marydoll pleased you’re feeling a bit better.
A wash to be done later and a walk, it should stay dry
Have a pleasant day all.

Gelisajams Mon 22-Feb-21 08:36:00

Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay.
We both had the jab yesterday so it’s a lazy day planned, but so far no nasty side effects. I am aching a bit but I’m not sure if it’s the jab or yesterday’s exercise!
I spoke to DS1 yesterday and he still isn’t back to his old self following Covid last November. He is normally one for doing a dozen things at once at 100mph, his partner says Covid has cured his ADHD!
Looking forward to seeing the lamb and pleased Marydoll is up to supervising the ‘gardener’. Hopefully there will be no disasters to report tomorrow.
Thinking of all with problems and wobbles, and for those who read but don’t post who are struggling. Also thinking of those with problems on other threads. Hopefully we will all be encouraged tonight though I do wish they had prioritised the teachers for the vaccine.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?
